Would be nice to have a striker we can actually cross the ball to. Is his all round game really good now or is it still a bit hit and miss? I thought he had improved in this aspect but I'm not entirely sure. Kane does to me seem far far better on the ball.
I have to admit I had massive reservations about Kane at the start of the season. However now I am a mssive fan and think he would be awesome for us. Lukaku's all round game is not as good as Kane's. Whenever I have seen Lukaku, his game has been a bit hit and miss.

Lukaku for me everytime. Opens up so many options in terms of hold up play, pace in behind and aerial threat.

Lukaku, Martial and Memphis as a 3? Terrifying. (assuming Memphis one say sorts his life out)

A new right winger is an even bigger priority than a new striker if you ask me. Getting Lukaku would be a huge improvement on our current attack but If we go into next season without a new right winger and trusting Memphis as our saviour once again we could be in a lot of trouble this time next season.

Yep. Kane's all round has really really impressed me this season. His involvement in the buildup and desire to get involved in everything really has elevated him in my eyes. With Lukaku, you'd be going with a beast of a striker who is a consistently good goalscorer from a young age, but will need to further bring his game together a bit, which he can do given he's just 22. One aspect where Lukaku does come out on top is his ability to just bulldoze through teams. He's more likely to score that goal against Chelsea where he burst past 3 defenders and basically score himself, than Kane.

A right winger is a must IMO. Get all the forwards in that you want but if our right wing options are Lingard , Mata and sometimes Rashford, then we'll again be in trouble.

Sign him or Lewandowski so Bayern can make space for Lukaku. Either way both would be tremendously successful here.

---------Lukaku/Lewandowski
Martial------Rooney-----Depay

Could be frightening next season if Rooney continues to play well.

Not really. Lukaku needs movement around him.

Lewandowski will move to Real, if he leaves Bayern. He's been linked with them a few times, the only problem is that they play with one striker.

Lewy does not want to go to Real as long CR7 is there...

That talk about Madrid was only hot in the time when it was hot that CR7 might leave Real Madrid.

If CL football from next season is a massive factor for him, then wouldn't that rule us out?

Unless we can convince him that we are a better project (I hate that word so much after the whole PSG, Lucas thing), why would he move to us instead of a team in the CL?

"I think my dad named those two clubs specifically because they play European football"

Wait, what? Lukaku is an intellegent person but man does he talk some bullshit sometimes. Says he wants to play CL next season and mentioned United in the same sentence... This constant transfer talk by HIMSELF is also disrespectful to Everton if you ask me. He's good leading the line for a midtable club but hasn't earned the right yet to say he should be competing for European honours.

Well it's not like it's beyond the realms of possibility that we make top 4, we are only 1 point behind City as things stand.

International break and they all open their pie holes all of sudden, classic.

Not very daft given we did play in a European competition this season, and may be in the CL next season.

What a fecking stupid interview to give when he's away on international duty.
He's spoken before about stepping up a level. Seems to big himself up/his future up too much for my liking. Needless to say it's very disrespectful to the club that put 30 million worth of faith in him, and fans who cheer him on.

Exactly. Every man and his dog knows he's most likely off at the end of the season, so there was no need for that interview. I find it spineless when players give these types of interviews when away with their national teams; I mean, we've seen it all before. Lukaku can't even use the whole 'lost in translation' lark either.

Lewandowski would be twice as frightening given he's twice as good as lukaku. Also if Rooney and Memphis perform like this season, it won't be that exciting.

But also, sadly, ten times as unattainable. And yeah, personally based on things as they are right now I'd have put Rashford on the right and Mata in the middle. With Rooney, Memphis and Lingard on the bench, that's a very complete looking attack with, importantly, lots of potential goalscorers in it.

I think Lukaku would be class at United, need to break the bank though.Him Martial,Depay and Rashford would be devastating within two years. People are forgetting one big thing. If Mourihno comes in the summer which is looking likely, lukaku won't be coming.Does everyone not remember how that turned out at Chelsea,I highly doubt they have a good relationship?

“Choices were made by me. By me. Not by them,” said the 16-goal forward when asked if he regretted not staying at Chelsea given their need for fresh quality. “Everyone says it is Mourinho’s fault but it is not his fault because I made the decision. I went to his office to ask if I could go. He was the first one to say: ‘Good luck.’

“I signed the deal with Everton at 11 o’clock and the first text message I got on my old BlackBerry was from Mourinho saying: ‘Good luck, do your best and I will see you next season.’ He was the first. Nobody knows that and that is why for me he gets immense respect. It is really sad he has to go. He is a great character and a great man. Even though there were words said in the media, I never looked at it because I know what he did and not a lot of managers would do that.”

It's up to Mourinho but the guy can be really selective. His decisions to dump players like Mata was sign of a strict rule of individual ability.

If he'll find someone better, Lukaku will be ignored almost instantly but he would be absolute ignorant cu*t like he is at times if he's not considering player's indisputable progress.

Realistic signing, just unsure if it'll be satisfying enough for a man in charge.

Lukaku has surprised me in the last 18 months or so. As a teenager he was always impressive for his age (and a true FM legend to boot), but I had always felt this owed to his well developed physical attributes. Once he started playing in the PL he was quite underwhelming for a long while - which I felt was because he had lost the advantages of size and power that he had enjoyed.

In the last 18 months or so he has definitely proved me wrong, and shown that he has the technical ability and attributes to succeed at a high level, and was not simply an overdeveloped youngster. If it were between him and Kane then I would be torn but perhaps side with Kane for the English factor - however with Spurs looking to comfortably finish above us in the league I am not sure if this summer is the right time for Kane to move, and there is always the problem of having to deal with Levy.

Martial and Lukaku have the makings of 2/3 of a great attack for years to come. Perhaps Mahrez for the RW position...

Martial(20)-Lukaku(22)-Dembele(19)

Young, powerful and pacey

If he finds someone better, then noone here should give a shit about Lukaku's progress as we'll end up with a better player.

Kane would be my first choice but why would he leavd Spurs? If we can get Lykaku we should.

Abso-feckin-lutely. Win/bigger win is a great perspective especially when Maureen got whole months of time to scout, observe and make decisions full of rational thought process.

Process.

Pretty much my sentiments too. I felt when he was 16/17 he was an absolute beast physically but wasn't convinced by him technically whatsoever. Even though he scored a fair bit on loan at WBA, I still felt he was technically poor and quite sloppy with the ball. He's really improved and matured over the past 2 years or so and looks class these days. I would love him here.

I would assume his comments about us aren't derogatory as he says he would like us or Bayern. The translation might make it sound like he's mocking us.
He's implying we're lacking Lukaku :)

Buying Lukaku would resign Martial to the LWF role permanently and we'd forget about 4-3-3 as he needs a proper #10/AM in behind him to flourish, Rooney or Mata wont do.

If Lukaku or Kane are available, you prefer not to sign one of them?

What about 433, for example:
Martial - Lukaku - Dembele where they have 3 midfielders behind them to give balance to the team.

Any chance of Rooney returning to Everton this year? Turns 31 this year could be a sweetener for Lukaku.

Surely if Martial is going to be a striker, and Rashford is given a proper chance at kicking on then we shouldn't be looking at this guy, we also have Rooney to accommodate, unless by some miracle we are going to sell him.

I would have thought a left winger to fight it out with Depay, and world class right winger would be more important this summer, but if we must blow a fortune on a striker then please let it be Aubameyang.

I don't get people that are questioning signing Kane/Lukaku because of Martial's development as a No.9.

First off we need a 25-30 goalscorer right now and Martial is not ready for that yet. He's also much better from the inside left position now so having him with one of Kane/Lukaku would improve us so much.

On Lukaku, I was one who firmly believed he would never be a player for a top team but in the last season he's really impressed me. As a striker he has a strikers instinct that will mean he will always be a player who bags goals and his stats point to that. He's ready to move and I feel playing with better players and having better coaching will improve his technique and general game even more. He will be massively overpriced but will definitely score goals for whoever he signs for this summer.

Kane is an exception as Morata would be, but I wouldn't opt for Lukaku if we could just get Ibra for a couple of seasons and see how Rashford develops.
