Romelu Lukaku | Napoli watch

Hardly absurd

And if you can't understand, that's on you. It's really obvious.
I'm sorry we aren't all as enlightened as you. Please forgive us all for our ignorance Lord VeevaVee. Thou seest things in Lukaku us mere mortals can't.

@VeevaVee doesn't help you're acting like a complete dbag in your responses as well. But Imma let you finish...
Just responding to people acting like they're right about an opinion on a hypothetical situation. I respond as I'm spoken to, but will happily tell people like that how it is because they bring the forum down.

You've proven to be one of these with this mess, and apparently plenty of other posts according to your notes..

Won't be replying to you again.

He is a proven goal scorer and why is to so hard to accept it ? We sold him because he doesn't fit the style of play we are trying to build. Conte ,Jose likes these kind of strikers .

I am glad he is not with us now and we got a good deal for him. Least bothered if he scores or not.

My only worry is that we didn't replace him .

Doesn't bother me a bit. I'm just here for the laughs. There's a real-world where user notes (hilarious you think it matters) and scout tag doesn't matter.

Give it a rest go to bed, you're having a mare tonight.

I don't know what our play style really is. It's combination of high pressing , disjointed play from the back ,park the bus and counter attacking. Jose and Conte combined has won more trophies than our club entire history. Maybe we are the only fanbase who prefer good first touch than ability to score goals and to be frank , the likes of Rashford hasn't got a good first touch either.

Anyone who isn’t happy that Lukaku has left is nuts. The guy couldn’t trap a bag of cement. He played football like he was wearing steel toe cap boots. In my opinion he’s not even a footballer. He’s just a battering ram and he’s even not good at that! Never known a guy to be so big and been so useless at holding up the ball and heading. People bang on about his goals but anyone can score the third goal against a newly promoted side. His record against the top six proves he was bang average. Everton was his level. Getting rid of him was the right decision and I’m fully behind what Utd are doing at the moment. We need to clear the deadwood and I for one am truly grateful that a don’t have to watch that bumbling idiot lead the line for United anymore.

There's not even a point to argue against. It was a tiny subjective quip of a point and people have gone off the rails trying to desperately prove how wrong it is, despite that not being possible as we'll never know. This kind of shit is what makes the football forums unbearable.

You're the one starting arguments about points not directed at you. Maybe you should care less about arguing on the internet.

- I didn't even quote or mention you by name in my original comment
- You decided to resort to lame ad hominem attacks (user notes)
- I'm not arguing with you, just laughing your back and forth. Am I allowed to do that?
- You should probably stick with your decision not to reply to me, since it's in my user notes and all

 your post only had no quote because you decided to try and make a sly comment.

Anyway, this is over. Have a good night.

Lukaku was shit for United. He didn't fit the mould of what the fans wanted and he didn't suit the football Ole wanted to play. Fact.

Lukaku was also an extremely good goalscorer before United, at PL level for Everton he was challenging Kane for the golden boot. He took the piss out of PL defences pretty regularly with his only weak point really performances being against the top six.

I dunno why United fans find it hard to separate the Lukaku who didn't work at United with the Lukaku who is Belgium's record scorer and banged in a hell of a lot of PL goals. Sometimes a player just doesn't work out at a particular club but can fulfil a role elsewhere, shit look at Forlan post-United move.

Lukaku isn't a world class striker but he does score goals and would do that in any league if you give him game time and decent service.

This

Every time he scores, it will be magnified into something we miss. If he doesn't score, this thread will be quiet.
Complete nonsense. This thread is full of people laughing at his poor touches, pointing and comments about his bad performances.

Wait what? Which ‘our’ are you talking about here because I’m pretty sure Conte and Mourinho haven’t gotten 20 league titles and 3 European Cups between them, let alone other titles.

Whatever the number is , those two know how to win ,has done it before , and will possibly do it again someday. So i don't know why we have to follow a style from someone who has relegation on his cv , scapegoating Lukaku while using a set of striker that will never outscore him every season till they are all retired.

Guess he scored, otherwise this debate would be one sided. Whats there even to talk about, he never was a bad striker, he can score, he scored for us and he will score for Inter, him being a Bermuda triangle version in football where most of things vanish, with him having a first touch as a tree is different matter.

Also same as in case of Sanchez, stop acting like he wasnt part of a squad that finished 6th last season, we saw how he played for us, we also saw how he scored with us, pointing and giving thumbs up to fecking Young all of that, his good talk interviews, we saw and heard it all.

(Picking up on the thread, not querying your comment) Yes he's a "proven goalscorer" but this is again where stats can be misleading.

It's the same criticism that Andy Cole used to get - that he needs too many chances in order to score (although I didn't think that criticism of Cole was entirely justifiable).

Except with Lukaku it's worse; at least when most strikers miss a chance it's after the build up play has been concluded and results in a GK, and thus time for the team to get back into a decent position. With Lukaku the chance can be lost through his miscontrol/falling over the ball/not making a run which concedes possession to a defender who can then instantly trigger the transition, while the team is out of position having expected Lukaku to control the ball etc.

Put it another way, given the choice between Lukaku and Scouse-era Emile Heskey, I'd take Heskey every day (and oh how we used to laugh at Heskey!).

Meanwhile Rashford couldn't score against Astana but hey he is hungry and local

Same way, stop acting like Lukaku was not the number 9 when we finished 2nd.

Christ almighty here comes again that famous 2nd finish.

Dunno who is acting, like i said, he scored for us and he scored X amount that season, nobody is that crazy to dispute that.

Now here come the people who don't want to talk about the actual points but instead try to attack me. It's ok, there will be a day where Lukaku doesn't score and you can call him a donkey again.
Lukaku is a great goalscorer, but that doesn't mean that he wasn't definitely a donkey at United.
When he first joined us he was brilliant, he had speed, power and ability; when he left it didn't feel like he had any of that.
He had bulked up beyond belief, and struggled to even trap a ball let alone manipulate it.
Maybe he can be a good player for Inter and I hope he is, but it wouldn't change the time he had at United unfortunately.

Nobody was good last season. All you are saying is he is a good player and had a bad season.

He was poor for large parts of his first season as well though.
He is a good player, he failed at United though.

Will the opportunistic people bump this thread everytime he scores in that crap league? Slavia Prague dominated Inter and Atalanta who are a top side over there lost 4-0 at Zagreb.

The posts such as "Rashford didn't score but Lukaku scored against Crotone.." are pathetic

Come on.. And I watched the game and he played badly.

So no one posts when he doesn’t score? Yeah and Napoli just beat Liverpool.

Whatever. Lukaku was a passanger in a low level game, we cannot afford to have 1 player doing absolutely nothing for 90 minutes. Its absolutely the correct decision to sell him for that price. People saying otherwise are clueless, frankly.

What's going on here, I thought Lukaku scored a Puskas award contender goal last night. Came in and see, it's just an easy header.

Boring.

Even funnier when you see Instagram posts about lukaku scoring like he scored a wonder goal. Cringy as feck.

Yes he scored 40 goals in 90 appearances or whatever.

But I'd rather see him go than keep reminiscing the first touch of Berba or RVP everytime he fecks up an attack.

Lukaku will always be labeled as a donkey poacher.

Good riddance.

He scored a good goal and had an average game otherwise. It must be mentioned that Milan were horribly bad and Inter benefited from that.

Strange that whenever I watch Lukaku play, I end up rooting for him although he's pretty poor and I never liked his style of play.
