Romelu Lukaku | Napoli watch

I can't imagine he'd want it either. Just trying to imagine how many Caftards would spontaneously combust at the news.

Lukaku doesn’t like the club, and the club doesn’t like him. I’m more than comfortable with that.

We are better off without him, if he feels the same - fair enough.

What runs is he making?
He's still the same player playing in a weaker league. Jesus christ some of you... The revisioning :annoyed:

All 3 of those clips are not that bad. First one, the defender pushes him off the ball and it ricochets off his foot. The last two are simple missed header chances (and he's usually good in the air). You're going out of your way to bash him.

Look, he’s not a bad player, no matter how bad he was with us, but I did see all his games for us, and for a player his size he’s certainly not good in the air. Could be he’s developed his game ala Rooney since, I wouldn’t know.

Surprised this hasn't been bumped this weekend. Quite a few posters have had so much to say here all season long but all of a sudden are nowhere to be found.

27 goals and 9 assists in all comps with a league title.

Congrats Big Rom.

He's been very good, integral to the way Inter play.
Probably should win POTY in Serie A.

Extremely precious title change. Main man to the title winners with better G/A than two of the Caf’s absolute darlings in that league must sting a lot.

it doesn’t matter how he does, good or bad. It doesn’t sting as he’s not a player we miss, that we want or need.

I’m no fan of his, but it’s been a win win win for everyone involved.

I did in another thread
He's in a goal drought hasn't scored in 530min of play

Those two are at the end of their footballing careers and are still better than Lukaku who's in his prime.

I haven’t disappeared. Well done Rom pleased for him. He’s still completely shite though.

Tell that to the people who can’t accept that, though. He’s gone and he’s doing well, but there’s still many who are acting like scourned lovers who must downplay just how good he has been since leaving us.

He’s a bellend for leaking club data and literally twerking for Conte whilst he was still our player, but he’s been nothing short of fantastic for Inter Milan.
Yeh you are right Lukaku is the better player!
Read the posts a little slower this time.

I've just given him a complement, that he is very important to the way Inter play, but we do have to be fair here, you are missing out on minutes played.

Ronaldo have one less goal contribution with 120 minutes less, while Zlatan has played a lot of minutes less.
Lukaku isnt exactly running away from those two if we look at minutes per G/A, but it does make sense that he plays more, he is younger and more fit after all.

The fact you call them ‘caf darlings’ rather than two of the best players to ever play the game who happen to now being near the back end of their careers. Comparing Lukaku to players of that quality is an absolute piss take and I’m amazed you’ve chosen that hill to die on.

This thread is my favourite on the Caf.

player is shite for us, leaves and people want to run it in other people’s faces when he does well in another country and a completely different team and manager.

he was so poor for us and should never, ever have worn the United shirt, IMO.
We don’t miss him, we weren’t a better team with him and we’re not a worse team without him.

Move on. Fair play to him, he’s having a great season at Inter. I still wouldn’t want him anywhere near our club and certainly not our first XI
I

He’s always been a good goal scorer, but inter winning the league says a lot about the quality of Serie A. They finished bottom of a pretty straightforward group in the champions league and lukaku was nowhere to be found.

Fact is we paid more for him than Liverpool paid for Mane and Salah combined around the same time, and he had nowhere near the same impact. He’s not a top tier player but a good goal scorer.

Why are some people bumping this thread so often, what exactly did he prove or show in Italy that we all didn't see in England already?

He isn't even that prolific as I expected him to be, I thought he was close to 30 goals this season considering he is top scorer of title winning team, but no.

I don necessarily disagree with your opinion that Lukaku isnt quite top tier, but he has proven himself to be more than a goalscorer though, one third of his goal contributions are assists, after all.

Don't care what his numbers.Never a Manchester United player.

Like the other posters said, not a Man Utd player. And I can't erase those memories of his bad touches, slipping on the ball and almost getting injured.

But Good for him on doing well and winning the league with Inter.

CR7 and Zlatan each have a goal every 95 minutes while Lukaku has one every 127 minutes. The former two are approaching 40 years old

Interestingly, Muriel and Immobile have better goal ratios than Lukaku since he moved to Serie A and they are pretty average themselves.

Lukaku has improved since he was with us but even at his peak, he's still just a decent striker with some good strengths and some obvious flaws. His goal record in Serie A is nothing to write home about

If he wins the Euros with Belgium doing well then surely voted a top 5 player for best player in Europe?

I think right now De Bruyne, Mbappe, Benzema are clear ahead of him based on doing well in CL and if one of them wins it then certainly favorite to win the award.

Then Lewandowski, Kane, Ronaldo up there with league form, but probably need to do well in Euros just like Lukaku to stand a chance to be voted best player.

He scored 27 goals in his first season with us too, perhaps not many people could remember that.

Not bad for a donkey, not bad at all. Says a lot about that league though. Soon people going to say smalling and young should have stayed based on their impact. Its all about levels baby.

Surprised he's doing well at Inter- as he was awful in his second season with us and genuinely did not look like a footballer post World Cup, where his first touch became horrendous. His stats were always good 113 goals in the Premier League was very impressive

Not sure what it was, he was never the right fit here - yeah he played as the sole striker at Everton and West Brom; but he wasn't good at it for United; maybe being as part of a front two is better off for him

Whatever you think of him, he’s still probably been the best player in Serie A this season. Conte, one of the best managers of this generation, built a team around him and won Inter their first Serie A title since Mourinho in 2010.

Yes, people did predict that he’d thrive in Serie A due to the slower pace of the league and the lower quality of the lesser teams, but he still has 27 goals and 10 assists in all competitions this season. He got 17 PL goals for West Brom in 2012-13 and 26 for Everton in 2016-17. His touch can be like a trampoline sometimes and I wouldn’t take him back because he doesn’t fit Ole’s quick attacking style, but in the right system, he is a world class striker.

He wouldn’t fit Pep’s style either, but I don’t want to see him play for Chelsea next season. As an outlet to get in behind for them, essentially a Werner with actual end product, he could elevate Chelsea. He seems happy at Inter though, so I hope he just stays put.

You missed the boat on that one. We've had nearly 2 years of it, at least until he got totally shown up last week.

None of them are top players, Serie A is perfect for their level
