Romelu Lukaku | Chelsea

I'm a market where Ben White is worth 50 mil, 35 for Tammy is a fecking bargain.
If Arsenal had got him for 34M, then this would have looked like a normal deal. English tax while moving to an English team.

£34M is way too much for Tammy. Mourinho doing Chelsea a favor here.

As for Inter fans being happy that Lukaku left, typical fabricated nonsense. My father sent a nasty email to Inter (shows his age here thinking he can communicate with Inter’s board this way), and the man lives here in the States now

you have to admire Chelsea's transfer dealing. This year their transfer net spend so far is almost $0.

What :eek:which inter fans are those :lol::lol:
Hello =D
If at the start of the transfer season you asked me "do you want €115m to spend on the market, or Lukaku?", I would have thought about that for a minute, tops, and then said "yeah sure, gimme the money". For the rumored €130m, I would've barely let you finish the sentence.

Problem is, it's not the start of the transfer season, it's the end; and we'll reinvest a fraction of what we got.

And these two things suck big time, even before you start to ponder over the impact on off-the-field aspects like locker room dynamics and morale.

Regarding the effect this is having on the interisti crowd, from my vantage point I'd say:
# 25% are mourning inconsolably, like we just sold prime Lothar Matthäus or a pre-injury Luis Ronaldo.
# 50% are like, ok he wasn't exactly the best forward one can think of but he was super important for us and this is awful, especially in context
# and the last 25% are ok about that, or even very happy like @11101 is saying - "good bye talentless hack and pathetic excuse for a leader, go back failing in premiership".

Of course, the latter group is growing due to coping mechanisms, before the sale I'd say 5% tops were truly unhappy about him.

He'll start the season well for Chelsea but he'll then fade when he can't be arsed again - just like he did for us.

The fact that Lukaku is going for £100M highlights the severe shortage of top strikers around now.

In all honesty, some sections of the fanbase aren't actually happy with the number of talented academy players who have left, but yeah the Abraham fee is especially welcome.

if the young players have no chance to play in the first team this season, it is better for them to play else where regularly than go on loan. I read that there are buy back clause inserted so it is a win win situation for all parties involved.

Oh I'm not saying people are delighted he's going. Just that the general consensus is that he's not worth 115m and if he can be sold for that then the club should do it, there are better players available for a lot less.

No, the general consensus is they're selling their best and most important player in August and replacing him with Dzeko

When did his price get so high? Wouldn't pay 40M for him.

Both inter reddit and the forum are royaly pissed. They mention wanting to have sold lautaro and Keeping Lukaku instead.

Tammy will be back in England for double what he is being sold for. His all round game is meh but he does score goals. He barely played in the second half of the season but was still Chelsea's top scorer.

So, what you are saying is that Inter will buy a better (but cheaper) striker for next year. Who that might be? And will he also become MVP or thereabouts? I am really curious who is this better striker that Inter can buy for less.

Gearing up for the announcement. That's a Chelsea TV clip from when Lukaku signed the first time 10 years ago.

Chelsea are really well run in the transfer market.

We still have a lot to learn. Our signings been good but our ability to sell players is criminal

Very cool announcement video, flashy but not over the top and of course fantastic song choice. Typical that they've managed to agree and announce a club record transfer while we still haven't announced Varane

Saying dreams can come true and going on about playing for the club (he's already played for and been sold from before)

That clip where the presenter is saying that is 10 years old. Makes sense to include that bit I guess since the hashtag is #Lukwhosback

They have the same problem. Have you seen the deadwood first team players still at the club yet to be sold? Zappacosta and co?
