Good goal, seems to be getting his confidence back. His touch is still unusually heavy though.

Bit relieved to see the last page.

Immediately after the game the thread was getting a lot of 'he was amazing' type posts.
Yeah it's nice to see people still shit on him.

Nicely taken goal but he'll get his usual amount of flak he always gets.

He's going to score but he's going to feck up any fluidity we have in the attack.

He's a good sub to use when we want to press for more goals to use his striker instinct but he can't be anywhere near the main lineup. As I said post last match, he's our new expensive Chicharito. They're both good goal scorers but shite at other elements of the game.

If he's fine for being a sub it's completely fine for us but if not, sell him them.

Took his goal well, but movement and touch generally shocking as per usual.

Lad scores basically a goal every two games and has mainly played in a defensive Mourinho team. Doubt we'll find a striker who will do much better for under £150m in this market and until Rashford improves his decision making and finishing he'll remain a very useful striker for us even if he isn't the best on the ball.

2 decent games against bottom feeder clubs doesn't make him suddenly look good after 6 months of pure shittyness

Given that he was one of the few who actually liked Mourinho it's strange that he's started working so much harder now.

Good mentality there, allowing Mata took the penalty. It was a good seeing.

I said that where?
I just meant we can say he had a good game or a nice goal or does that make me his fanboy?

Some shocking attempts at a first touch, but at least he’s scoring goals now. Looks a fair bit leaner too.

As a goalscorer he's doing okay in the last few games, as a striker, still a long long way to go for him...

The problem is obviously not the goal, which was very well taken. Knows exactly where he wants the ball, holds his run and then bursts into it when Sanchez is ready to pass it.

Problem is the rest of it, his overhit/underhit passes, like the one he overhits to Chong which ruins the attack, or the situation where he let the ball bounce because he knows he can't control it  Compare that to other top players and you'll do well to find a first choice striker at a top club that wouldn't pluck the ball out of the air like it's as natural as waking up with a boner.

Well taken goal, but his overall play is still miles behind Rashford/Martial. There was a moment in the first half where he passed to Sanchez and instead of getting up there and supporting him he took a step back and just watched. That really pissed me off.

Keep him as an impact sub/squad player. Gets goals, negatively impacts the play though. Typical lukaku performance basically.

He is unable to stop his own body and overruns the ball many times. He can't stop his own momentum.

His all-round game isn't good enough. If he has a long career as first choice striker we will have buggered up the managerial appointment again.

Took his goal well, but his touch and general all round play are very poor. For a big guy, he is also very poor at shielding or holding the ball up and laying it off. He is very ineffective as a target man in general, rarely wins high balls. He is more often than not dominated by any decent CB he comes up against. When United have the chance of a quick break he often disrupts moves with his poor movement and touch. Had a chance to play in Chong near the end today, it was a fairly simple pass but he let himself down with the final ball.

It's incredible — he has appeared 3 times for Ole and scored 3 goals (in less than 2 full games), yet he continues to play like a sack of potatoes
I'm okay with it as long as he keeps scoring, but it would be nice to see an improvement in his game as well as in his stats. We all know that he can do better.
Early days.

He’s basically a worse version of Rooney circa 13/14/15. General play is shocking but will still get his fair share of goals.

Very well taken goal, not much else than that. Basically the whole team played like crap though so it’d be unfair to single him out in this instance.

Rom's physicality makes him a handy option especially as he has a good chance conversion rate. However, to me, that's what he is: an option. Someone for specific tasks up against physical defenders or to bring of the bench against tiring opposition. If Rashford bulks up Rom's in big trouble long term.

I feel like when he has to take more than 4 touches he overruns it's 5 out of 6 times. The ball always somehow ends underneath him

Put him through on goal, he scores 99% of the time. Ole has used him brilliantly and Rom has scored in every game he’s played under Ole, along with working much harder. Obviously his first touch is not great but Ole and Rom’s worked around that. An inform Rom is always a good option starting or coming off the bench to get us a goal.

Good goal but we will never play aggressive football with him leading the line. Link up play is bullshit.
Good player to have off the bench.

The point is I don't see him taking his chance against top opposition in Crunch situation. Doesn't breathe confidence at the moment.

Surely not in contention to start Vs Tottenham and also not looking the best Option as a 9 at the moment.

Took his goal well but trod on the ball for another chance where he was clean through, his touch and control are just never going to be good enough if we hope to build a top class attacking unit. If he's willing to be the £75M Ole, then that's fine I guess.

Hes defo not a target man. Hes better off the shoulder, running the channels, etc.

Nicely taken goal.

I think he has lost some weight and this is good for him

Still looks enormous. I struggle to think of another striker or defender that is so big.

I'm happy he scored today and I hoped he would before the game. His touch was pretty bad and I think we look more dynamic with Rashford as a centre forward but he could be an important player for us for the rest of the season. 3 in 3 now :D

Funny, he scores again but I wasn't impressed. There was a moment in the second half where he practically nutmegged himself with his touch :D

I would bench him honestly. Sanchez (hope he's OK!), Martial, and Rashford are all better options to play in a front three along with Lingard (who I'm not a big fan of but he's our best hope for RW I think). If he's not OK with being a bench option, I'd sell in the summer.

He's to Mourinho what Fellaini is to Moyes. Effective when used correctly, but not a good fit for the sort of team we should aspire to be. Easily the best goalscorer at the club, though. Has to play for the time being as his goals will win us points even if our general play suffers a bit for it.

Was good today, took his goal very well but he's going back to the bench for the Spurs match. I just don't see how he's going to displace Rashford, he doesn't offer what Rashford does even though he's the better goal scorer.

Great option to have to have on the bench though, which I'm sure he doesn't like.

He scored a goal that I'd expect most strikers at this level to take, was nothing special. Still, hopefully he keeps on contributing.
