He made sure he shrugged off best CB in the league, it's all about anticipation and trusting your teammate to make the runs.
I might need to see it again but that was a decent cross. Lingard was poor but he dug out a deep cross from the byline and done well to get any pace with trajectory on it.
Another decisive contribution. He's assisted two Premier League gameweeks running. There are elements of his game that can improve. You can't question his impact though.
I don't know what you guys are talking about tbh? He was very good throughout the game. Up against a top class backline and came closest to scoring before our goal. Some of you need to get a reality check.
The service to him was dreadful tbh. He did okay with what he had.

Vital header at the end that's all that matter for me. Btw his header against the post was excellent. The cross didn't have too much on it but he still managed to get a lot out of it.
Despite very little service his concentration and commitment were exceptional.

He was poor but came at the right moment. People saying he should got subbed off are repeating the same mistake as they did with Zlatan last season. You never, never sub your main striker and goal scorer if the result isn't a win.
He looked out of sorts for most of the game but then was really unlucky with the header off the post and his flick on for the goal was superb. No real signs of him and Martial playing as a pairing today. Rashford was the better candidate to stay on when Martial was introduced, but Jose was never going to go that way.
At the very least, credit to him for sticking at it when little was going his way and playing his part in the win. Still needs to do more, but it is early days yet and hopefully he will improve given time.

He's not been great lately but he's still contributing. An assist, and unlucky to hit the post. Think he of all our players needs Pogba back the most.
The guy is good Striker but he desperately need service , need player to feed him nice through ball .. he unlike zlatan isn't the type of striker who involved in build up play
On a bad day, he's terrible to watch. Nearly pointless, just nearly 
If he isn't scoring, if he gets harried and hounded by two defenders, if he is asked to meet every long ball pumped forward especially when there is no one to take the knock down, it's very likely that he will look a bit underwhelming like today. But he had a great header assist and another with which he nearly scored. And Mkhitaryan kept on choosing the wrong option/losing the ball/overhitting a simple pass for Lukaku to captialise.
I’m delighted we have him. Yet to reach his peak as well.
Thought he was really good in the 2nd half today. Hope he can get amongst the goals mid week before Chelsea next Sunday...
Not great today. Thought he was a bit static, but nice header near the end to Martial. Also did think he stepped up second half in general and took the battle more.
Service has dissipated but he's still keeping himself in the game to provide key chances. Signs of a good striker.

The team let him down the complete first half as none of ourplayers was able to bring a decent ball forward. In the second he stepped up himself a bit was chasing back to get the ball early and get involved into the game. Had a few stupid decisions today but continued to try and was pretty unlucky by hitting the post. Great to see him being involved in the goal - this should boost his confidence after the last rather poor games.
All in all I think he was ok/good and should build on this.

Glad he looked a bit more into the game today. He still needs to run the channels a bit more for me, he seems to not bother if he doesnt think he will get the pass.

Good header that hit the post and an important flick on for Martial's goal, but I thought his game in general was poor today, the ball ran away from him too often and I thought Rashford was unfortunate to be the one hooked in terms of how the two were playing at the time.
But then it is no link up play if there was no mutual awareness.
Think Lukaku needs to score again before the international break, else it will turn into a 'thing'.
Awareness is Martial making the run thinking Lukaku wins the header, Lukaku guiding the header there trusting his teammate to make the runs.

Yeah. Thats why if play him for final 30 mins in that game. Let Rashford and Martial run their defence into tiredness and let him clean up.
Was ok - better in the second half, but I want more from him, and I know he can. Needs to put himself about a bit more, in my opinion. There were bags of room in the channels for him to run into, but time and time again, especially in the first half, he was coming to the ball.

I think this is a pretty fair take.
I'm not sure we've seen a huge amount from Lukaku that we wouldn't have expected before hand, and there's still areas of his game that he can and should be working on. Thankfully he seems to have the work ethic and desire to improve them.
I would also agree with the posters in the 'not world class' camp, but what he is good at he's very, very, very good at. I think we need to do a better job of recognising his limitations and playing to his strengths.
Ok he’s not had the best little run, but he’s a proper striker and hasn’t had great service. He’s also assisted two, and looks like a better crosser than our wingers on the rare occasion he’s out wide.

Why is no one bringing up that save he forced out of lloris from nowhere? Showed great striking instincts and a lovely shot on par with his header that hit the post IMO
Think as usual there's a 'bit of both' going on with him. Our attack is poor for lots of the game time, rendering his chances limited but to an extent he could still be doing a bit more to link the play (assuming he's not being told to do nothing but score goals by Mourinho).
That said, could have scored a great header and made the goal with an excellent assist so nothing to moan about in the end.

I agree with this, and this is for the manager to work out. Obviously, he had a fantastic start to his United career. Goals have dried up for him a bit of late, but it's no coincidence since Pogba's been out, and Mkhi's form has dropped, Lukaku's not been scoring as freely.
To me, Lukaku is a poacher. He's a box player. I personally dont think we get enough crosses in for him. We focus on playing through the middle, when im not too sure this suits his type of play. Preferably, id like us to get it to the byline more and swing crosses in for him.
As I said, though, I do think when Pogba comes back it'll improve, not only Lukaku, but the whole team. I also think, with Mkhi out of form, we need to think about putting Mata or Lingard in there for a bit.
Definately think we need a top class playmaker either in Jan or Summer. He makes clever movement, but is not always found.
