Gary Neville was setting the agenda on him before the game. Did the same thing with Pogba last year, De Gea previously. It's quite sad.
Neville has become an embarrassment. He bends over backwards so much not to come across as pro-United that he's now anti-United in his punditry and commentary.Gary Neville was setting the agenda on him before the game. Did the same thing with Pogba last year, De Gea previously. It's quite sad.
He is a goal scorer, but his link up play is very poor.
The complaints about his all round performance, for me, are akin to hearing that De Gea isn’t creative enough and doesn’t have good enough all round play.
He’s an all out striker who we employ to score goals. Simple as that.

Not that simple though is it? There is more to be being a great striker than goals.
Deleted now, he must've seen a worse post somewhere
The retweet’s and likes are a bit concerning.
He didn't do much today to help the criticism that he's not the most intelligent player. Every run/movement I saw was completely vertical and his hold up play wasn't great, he misjudged a lot of headers. He got no service whatsoever but he didn't contribute much at all.
Not when you aren't seeing any of the ball whatsoever. What was he supposed to do? Go into midfield and disturb the flow like what Rooney does??? Anyone who is pointing fingers at Lukaku needs to start watching netball instead.

Most of the balls that he received were Arial balls from De Gea. I know Lukaku is one of the best players in air but even he can't perform miracles. So I'm not sure where people are coming from with this criticism about his hold up play. Add to that when he did get the ball there were hardly any players around him. It's as if United were playing with ten men and just throwing balls at him hoping for the best. Same goes for his runs and the silly nonsense about his "intelligence". It's difficult to make any meaningful runs when your midfield is not doing anything to exploit the channels around you.
Make more and better runs into dangerous areas. He was too static and content to stay in the middle today.
I think he missed pogba for a game like today. Apart from matic putting one in the channel for him a lot of balls to him were slow or aimless. He was often isolated
There were chances to play him into space and our players muffed it or put it out of play

I hope this isn't based just on this game cause it's ridiculous tbh.will get flack for saying this but lukaku again showing the small frustration I have with him in that he seems to need many chances in a game to score a goal, he doesn't seem to be one of those classic prolific goalscorers that could not have a kick all game but given just one chance in a match and they would 9/10 times score

I found it puzzling each time he misses a chance I see some people claiming he's not clinical enough.
By this logic Ronaldo is a shite finisher :
And Lewa is absolute fraud :
People need to accept these misses happen. If I can fault Lukaku for anything today it'll be him not a good enough target for our long balls as Fellaini.
Was watching PSG this afternoon and Mbappe missed like 3 sitters today alone, and against a shitty Angers side ! it's perfectly normal.
Edit: Messi just missed an excellent chances to level against A.Madrid !
