All the doubts people have had about Lukaku before signing him encapsulated in a half. Needs to do a lot better the next half.

Meh I find it hard to criticise him for that half tbh. He's had literally no service and received the ball with no one near him except a horde of Liverpool players every time.

Was shit for the Liverpool chance, and might have done better with his chance (but I think was under a lot of pressure), but if we want more from him we need to get players near him.

Talk of his supposed bad record in big games is on his mind I think.

Are you going off the one chance he had? Just like how Zlatan missed his one chance at Anfield last season.

No, for me that was the best thing he's done.

Lacksidazical performance in a big game so far - did you not see how slow he was for the offside trap before Liverpool's big chance? He doesn't look sharp at all at the moment. He's struggling to hold the ball up at all but the service has been poor to be fair to him. Needs to step up in the second half.

Whether it's partly down to the bus we're parking or that Liverpool are pinning us back, he's had absolutely nothing to go on. Any counter attack he's by himself.

Kind of a shocking miss given his pedigree but that's literally the only criticism I would have of him.

I doubt it’s even crossed his mind, that’s the last thing these players think of with 60k fans screaming and the ball zipping around the place.

His teammates aren't doing him any favours today.

He's not doing himself any favours either.

He had chances to hold up better than he has, he had a golden chance to put a goal away. He is just terribly lazy today. Fecked up the offside trap to gift Liverpool the golden chance too.

This is true tbf, every players first touch seems to be a tackle. It's hard to work with this but he's not doing enough movement wise. His hold up-play which is usually excellent has been poor as well.

Not the greatest of halves from Rom. Needs to try and hold it better. That said, even when he does, it has taken us far to long to support him.

His chance shows what he can do when he has that support. Nice interplay between Martial, Mkhi and Rom. Probably should have done better, but I think theres more chances in it for him. He's the type of player who wont go hiding.

Liverpool are getting me around him, Martial and Mhkitaryan well tbf

I'd be surprised if it wasn't on his mind on the build up. And then naturally, it'll be there somewhere during the game. The tackle on Gomez was frustration.

I don't think he's played badly. He's barely had any service and when he has, he's been isolated. Balls into his feet have been almost non-existent and balls into the channel have been way overhit.

That miss was costly. But then again Liverpool should have scored as well.

Poor today but hard to blame him. We never even tried to get it forward to him.

Feel bad for him today. Could have scored with a more composed finish, but hard to expect him to be clinical when he's a spectator for 20 minutes at a time.

Against good opposition, he's not a 'leave him up there alone' striker, he needs service and people around him. Jose deprived him of both.

Apart from that one chance, his team mates gave him nothing. Just launching impossible balls to him.

Should have scored that goal. Nothing more to be blamed for.

I just want to point I don't find him a good target for long balls, though. His chesting of the ball isn't as good as Fellaini. That's the only downside I can say about him so far.

Don't really want to WUM, but that's quite bad

Makes sense, Vardy is at his best when he's basically alone on the counter, which is the case a lot against the big 6 for Leicester.

Lukaku is not.

Didn't get great service but didn't particularly use the ball well when he did. If we are to be serious contenders for this title, his performances in these type of games has to be better.

Think he was playing Fellaini's role today. And obviously he isn't good at it. I don't think we won a single long ball, which was even more frustrating since we did that a lot. Had one golden chance and should have done better. But felt for him today, way too isolated up top. Someone like Pogba or even Fellaini would have helped him today.

Had 1 chance & he should’ve done better. Otherwise had no service.

Lukaku wasn't very effective at Everton when they parked the bus, he won't be effective at Man Utd when we park the bus.

Zero service today. Isolated and completely unsupported.

He could be lumbering around Anfield for the next 3 days and he still wouldn't score.

He got no service at all. I'd have liked to see the forwards' positions rotated so he could have a go at running from deep. He didn't work as a target man today.

Not sure how you can criticise him bar the chance he had. He had absolutely nothing around him.

Can't blame him today. He was so isolated. Should have scored but these things happen.
