I find it a bit odd that there's not more interest from around Europe.

"There's no news on van Persie," Wenger told the Sun. "Our fans want him to stay so you can understand they are excited. Anything I could say about van Persie would be a lie because he's our player and that's it.
"Robin scored 30 goals last season and you want to keep your best player. He was player of the year in England. We want to keep him. I cannot tell you more at the moment because I don't know more.
"We have not bought the players to replace van Persie, but to strengthen our squad with the thinking van Persie will stay. That's still my mind at the moment."

Surprised he didn't criticize Fergie yet, I really can't see RVP joining United.
This thread will end in tears.

I guess Wenger is hell bent on making sure Persie doesn't join Utd.

Probably as much as Fergie would be in making sure Rooney didn't join the Arse, if that were a possibility...
Body language experts, get on it!

Gotta feeling this is not going to happen, Fergie might turn his attention to getting the Polish striker from Dortmund if not he will then concentrate on a LB.
I'm confident it will happen Wenger is just playing it cool.
nice bra Robin
Yeah what's up with that?
I also saw some of our and Hannover players wearing these in the friendly game against Hannover.
Is this some pulse monitor device that can be worn more comfortable during these games then the usual chest band?
I mean it must have something to do with pre-season because I have never seen a player wear these during regular season.
It's a weird transfer to me, I would be excited if he joins, but not too bothered if he didn't.
This transfer was always likely to go down to the wire. Why should Arsenal sell early when, the longer they wait, the better chance club x - not United or City - make an acceptable offer, and Van Persie says to himself 'screw this, United won't come up with the cash, and if I wait any longer I might be stuck at the Arse for another year.'
If I were the Arsenal board, unless United make a mega offer, I wouldn't sell until the last week of the transfer window. In the unlikely event that United withdraw entirely, Arsenal might have to accept less money from another club, but that probably doesn't worry them too much.
That strategy certainly worked well last season.

Difference this time is that Arsenal have already bought replacements.
Athletico would turn around and screw them (Arsenal) once they knew they were desperate for a replacement. They're fecked either way in this inflated market.
