He's producing with basically no service at all.

When we click, and we will with this amount of attacking talent, he'll be devastating.

I like him, still feels like a loan from Arsenal though.

Another thing is how much he tracks back and how much he fights to win ball. I never saw that during his Arsenal days.

Check again and see if it was him that lost it in the first place.

He's a superb footballer, and looks like he's in fantastic shape physically too...25 goals would be the minimum from him.

Full credit it to him for holding his nerve for that penalty. In truth, it wasn't the best penalty in the world, and Reina could well have saved it... but considering:

- He had 4 minutes to think about it
- He missed his last penalty by doing something stupid
- We had missed 3 penalties in a row as a club
- It was at Anfield
- It was to go into the lead.

Then fecking well done that man.

Lets not forget it was against Reina.. notorious penalty stopping specialist... its rare he doesn't get a hand to most shots from a spot, thankfully RVP hit it with conviction.

Yup that delay was infuriating. Ball of steels to hit that penalty, well done to him.

Still can't fecking believe it. Robin Van Persie, Manchester United player.

I can't believe some people have - with a straight face - said that RVP's tackle which he got booked for was similar to Shelvey's... fecking mental.

. I'm not going to say that I thought Van Persie's foul was worse than Shelvey's but it was reminiscent of Carragher's famous foul on Nani that was supposedly a "leg breaker".

I have calmed down now. Not that I was angry over the result, the performance or the clearly partisan refereeing. I could if I wanted suggest Shelvey's challenge, whilst reckless, was no worse than Evans', or that if Shelvey sees red then surely Van Persie must see red too for a carbon copy challenge later in the game.

F365 seem very keen to defend that Van Persie tackle towards the end of the game. I thought that it was quite a reckless challenge. If you watch it back, you'll see that he leaves the ground slightly with his challenge, as well as leaving his studs up. The challenge is therefore out of control and dangerous. Sure, he gets something on the ball, but then again, so did Shelvey.

... It worries me that such people are allowed to think independently... though god knows what it's like on RAWK for this incident :wenger:

Van persies tackle wasn't even a free kick let alone a red card

I was a bit disappointed with van Persie up until about the 70th minute. His agility and pace, while never his strengths, were just awful yesterday. I didn't watch many Arsenal games, but what kind of service does he like?

VP is constantly moving out wide which leaves Kagawa alone in the middle who doesn't have the build nor the strength (yet) to get bodied on like he has the last two games. We can't leave Kagawa alone like that.

He keeps taking our corners when he needs to be in the box. I don't know why Nani still takes him, as he's also one of our best headers. Kagawa should be taking them.

I've enjoyed his goals, but for me, he's just a slightly better goal poacher than Hernandez, isn't doing well with the hold up play, connecting is better than Hernandez's but needs time, and less mobile.

What's RAWK like now?

Grown men shaking with anger, writing letters to the FA that 'the fix is in'.

So, about the same as it was before.

Personally felt he holds the ball up very well, but he needs the ball into feet.

His body strength on the ball is probably the best of all our strikers, rooney needs to learn a bit from him of how to shield the ball.

He's had no pre season at all so I still he's not at his best and given the fact that he's still probably adjusting to a new club and new players and a different style of play, he'll take some matches to get to his best. Getting 5 goals in 3 or 4 starts when he (and the attack) are not at their best is a good return imo.

:lol:How can anyone claim Van Persie's challenge was similar to Carrager's stomp on Nani? That's just bizzare.

hahahahahahaha fecking idiot

depends on his definition of slight, like maybe Da Vinci is just a slightly better painter than your average art student.

Cheers mate. My professors kept telling me the same, but it goes in one ear and out the other. Must be due to lacking a brain. But I'm glad you're helping me understand my lot in life. I'll try better next time daddy.

Just please don't ask me to rub your ego again tonight, it's dirty.

There again, all art is individual and in the eye of the beholder. So some might see Da Vinci as only slightly better than someone who does modern art, if they prefer modern art :D

To me the grading is:

greater - slightly better - same - not as good - worse

We all know Hernandez is a great poacher. He had an off season last year because of the concussion, but if you watch him for Mexico and from the glimpses we've seen thus far, yes I think when they're both on form, VP is slightly better than Hernandez in the 18 yard box. VP however, is greater outside the 18.

I dread seeing this thread bumped - I expect to read that his leg has fallen off while Pete laughs satanically in the background.

Just so happy to see him in our team. The distribution to him hasn't been great but the team is still gelling. If he was there for our pre-season tour, the outcome would be much better by now.

Am I the only one who thinks he isn't playing that good atm?

He didn't put good performance since Southampton away, and I must say he can look frustrating sometimes too. He needs to improve his form, I don't care about goals, he often looses ball too easily, and he could really pick one of those 120 crosses today.

I was hoping Fergie would sub him for Hernandez. His general play was good but he snatched two or three chances.

Too often he is isolated though. There is a huge gap between midfield and him and so far, Kagawa didnt manage to close that. Should have scored tonight though

No service to him at all. Against So'ton, almost every attack was through him. Since then, not so much, hence he is not scoring freely. I think we need to start Rooney and him together so they can work well of each other.
