Better to show some loyalty and make yourself immortal (even if it is only Spurs).
van Persie should have stayed at Feyenoord then.
And Henry at Monaco.

“Us Gooners said goodbye to a living legend — Robin van Persie.”
“I’m an athlete, so I can understand his decision. He’s moved to Man United in pursuit of trophies."
“As a runner I make my own destiny in my sport, but in team games it is more tricky."
“You have to pick the right team around you to help you to win those trophies."
“I guess he felt it was going to be harder at Arsenal to win some silverware than at Man Utd."
“But speaking as a fan, I’m absolutely gutted Arsenal have lost him. He is pure footballing class.”
And Pete at Arsenal Mania.

Even Arsenal fans reckon younareba clueless Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime?
Or did they get bored with your obsession with United?
No one will remember Berbatov anywhere except Blagoevgrad, he's a cnut who fecked Spurs over and flopped at Man Utd
Yeah their mods got fed up with me calling them a bunch of cnuts - 'no issue with the logic of your posts but you're too confrontational and aggressive'.You're not missing much, mate.
Ugly inside. Not long ago our team was full of ugly feckers, Look at us now.
You're going to pay him a lot more for feck-all squared.
Arsenal fan losing his head on talksport now.
Ugly inside.
He'll sell a lot of shirts, I'm sure, half the Cafe already have their's on order.
He'll help to win us more trophies, & so more prize money/TV deal money, I doubt he'll end up costing us a bean.
This may be a new low. "Yeah, you may have a much better team, but there is naught but ugliness in the heart of your team's players!"
I can see it now, "Arsenal! We're better Christians!"
Must be pete.

That was the angriest I've ever heard someone on a football phone in
Arsenal losing their best player to us reminds me of Rooney-gate and the links with City. I don't think we'd react too differently if that did actually go through.
That's a fair point, which a lot of us have acknowledged. I think we can kind of understand the frustration of the Arsenal fans at the moment. I do feel for them a little, but as it's been said it's not too different in most cases to them buying a player from a lower club in the table, which they've done plenty of times.

He will be remembered at Old Trafford.
We are good at that, remembering our players, past and present.
That's just about greed and covetousness in the end. You can go to the Prado and gaze at Goyas to your heart's content - you don't need to own them. It's like if you steal a masterpiece, it presumably still feels good looking at it on your wall.
Dennis Law.
God.
Even after playing for city and scoring that goal.
Sometimes, you just have to accept your heroes outgrow your club.
Law was too good for us at that point, just like Van Persie was too good for a team whos only ambition is getting 4th.
It's hard not to enjoy it when it's your club that benefits, but it's essentially shit that this can happen. It's no different from City really, they can just do it more often.
The reason it's shit is because it makes winning mean less. pete's bravado notwithstanding, we were already a good bit better than Arsenal and this season we'll probably be much better. But what does it mean, when we've just gone and bought their best player?
That said, if all goes well it will be a real pleasure watching him play for us. It's like if you steal a masterpiece, it presumably still feels good looking at it on your wall.
