Do you have one of those for Rooney?

That still makes him significantly less injury prone than everyone else at the club except Evra (who's injury record is unknown due to his ability to heal himself)

I'd be more worried if it said 2012 August 16th

Anyway, I wasn't that fussed while we were chasing him, but seeing him looking so happy makes me happy too :D

We don't seem to care. I mean, we bought Owen Hargreaves.

Our insurers must be right suckers.

Just two minor injuries in the last 12 months. If only we could say the same about the rest of our squad. We'd be sitting on 20 league titles.

Come on gaffs, i know you pride yourself on being consistently negative about all things United but is there any chance you could change the record?

Great interview. Soft shite questions, but said all the right things and managed to stay fully respectful of Arsenal and Wenger.

I think it's cute how van Persie is trying to learn about the club's history.

He was trying so hard to drop facts that he read... 77,000 capacity of Old Trafford, Ruud's 150 goals in 5 years... :D

Is this your way of saying that RVP doesn't get injured anymore. :nervous:

He has been getting a lot better with his injuries now. Touch wood, but I don't see it being too much of a problem this year. Most who claim it's a bad signing due to his injury record are clutching at straws a bit. If you listened to some people you'd think he was a cripple up until last season.

Only negative if i sense trouble ahead - like i did about Berbatov.

RVP should be a great signing. My concerns are he has a poor injury record, he seems to play better upfront on his own and that the money could have been spendon bringing in a defensive centre mid and a full back.

They're reasonable concerns. He's a fantastic player though. Which outweighs the concerns and then some. IMHO.

Whilst I was hoping we would strengthen in the middle as well (and I still think we will get Baines for full back duty) , I think with the two main signings of the summer Fergie is looking for a different way.

The majority of our games are played on the front foot against teams who are really playing for a draw at best, the quality we have in the front 4 , both wingers and forwards plus Kagawa, suggests to me the plan is simply to steamroller most of the opposition, and go 451 against decent opposition using numbers in the middle in place of specialised positional players.

For the vast majority of the season, Carrick as a lone deep lying mid is perfectly adequate, games against 3 or 4 other teams in the league and the champions league campaign are the only real exceptions.

With Cleverley/Carrick/Scholes/Anderson plus a chance of a return for Darren Fletcher at some point, and for the majority of games all competing for two positions in the starting line up, is not necessarily the same problem we had last year.

Kagawa and Van Persie in the squad changes the formation and playstyle of the team to the point where the lack of a specialised DM may not be as galringly obvious this time.

On a positive note, people said that Tevez and Rooney couldn’t play together as they were too similar. Good player find a way, so i hope Rooney and RVP will.

And Van Persie's much more versatile what with him playing left wing, right wing, in behind the striker and right up top throughout his career. I think he's actually played all four positions for Holland over the past 3 or 4 months alone. He was excellent in behind Adebayor and said himself it was his favourite position for years, so it's great that we have him, Kagawa, Rooney and possibly Welbeck all capable of playing that slightly withdrawn, more creative role.
