I hope the injury is not serious. He is pure class and that showed tonight.

Looked like his old self today. We needed an clinical finisher to put the ball into the net and he did his job magnificently.

Full credit to him for somehow hearing me screaming at the TV that the keeper was too central for the free kick.

We should have dropped him then sold him like posters wanted. Now he's put us in the position to play better teams who will make us look bad. Thanks Robin

Easily our best and most important player. World class in every sense of the word. Really the only player that you can truly say that in our squad.

Did well, obviously. I do think that none of his goals were fantastic pieces of skill or brilliance - a tap in, a penalty and a FK which the keeper had a howler.

Not to criticise a player who has scored a hattrick mind you, just I still feel his overall performance can improve, and he can bring back some of those "wow" moments like last season.

I'd be quite happy for him not to return for the second leg. We play like an entirely different team when he's not on the pitch, and for the better.

I think he's done for the season.

Don't judge so quickly. We wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him.. Boy how quick people forget.

And it's not like we had a free flowing attack today and both Welbeck and Rooney got hatricks.. We scored a single goal from a corner (through a defender).

He's still a great player, and we will need his quality at least in some games.

Those squats were pathetic. I'm sure there's a good reason, but if you did that a crossfit class you'd be laughed out of the gym.

Good to see him back in light training. Hope he gets fully fit for the World Cup.

Yep, would like him to give everyone who doubted him big slap in the face with his performances, with manager who knows how to get best out of him/team.

I would imagine he's not fully extending his knee so it doesn't apply too much pressure on the knee joint.

Squat's can be quite hard on the knee's if you fully go to a 90 degree angle, so I suppose he's just taking a small dip to be careful.

I think It's just a recovery squats for rehabilitation. It's not a training squat to train your leg.

Obviously I hope he gets fit ASAP especially with Rooney is injured or unfit. I would like to see Him and Welbeck again and with Mata. I think they make a better partnership than Rooney RVP Mata.

I thought he was back at the club because yesterday on his Facebook he posted a pick of DDG, Vida, Rio and him out some place but, Moyes saying our staff going to check on him next week. I do hope he gets at least a couple games before the end of the season, if we are going to keep him, then would love to see Moyes try a system with RVP, Rooney, Mata and Kagawa that gets the best out of all of them.

I am quite surprised too that after every injury he runs back to his motherland to recover. Is it a common theme with most foreign players? Is it because of the world cup? Or he is simply being a little bitch?

@alastair - Was it a common theme for him at Arsenal too?
