Sorry but it still pisses me off that Luis fecking Suarez has scored more goals than him

Only because they flog him and he plays every fecking minute of every game because they cannot cope without him. Or Brenton is worried he'll demand a transfer if he gets subbed.

We have showed we aren't a one man team, thats why and they still havent. I am surprised he isnt burned out already with the amount of games he has been playing.

In terms of the PL there's not that much difference

Suarez - 2415 minutes
RVP - 2223 minutes

Just over the equivalent of 2 games

Not just in terms of minutes played but contributions from other players in their respective teams. I meant they are way more dependent on Suarez than we are on RVP. Liverpool would be a far worse condition if Suarez wasnt contributing as much than if RVP wasnt for us. What do we have, like 20 different scorers or something this season? How many do they have? Thats why I said we are not a one man team.

Im not a big fan of this particular stat, but RVP is directly involved in something like 20 points for us. Suarez isnt even close to that for Liverpool - his goals have yielded them around 10 points. Even adjusting for our respective point tallies hes responsible for a smaller percentage of their points.

We arent a one man team but its just as incorrect to claim that they are.

And we are in 3 competitions. Players can't afford to go every game all guns blazing, knowing that there are an important FA cup or CL game in another 3 days. Just like Norwich game, an easy game to get a goal or two if van Persie would have played for 90 min. but had to be withdrawn with one eye on the R. Madrid game.

Little article from Marca here. Bolded the interesting parts.

Straight after the first-leg match, fresh from the pitch and back in their own dressing room at the Santiago de Bernabéu stadium, one name dominated the Real Madrid defenders' conversations: Robin van Persie. The majority of the supporters will only remember the two chances the Dutchman missed in the second half. But, where the majority saw mistakes, the Real players saw a demon.

"Van Persie is a nuisance. He harries you, he shoots, he's always running, sprinting down one side, then the other... He could make things difficult for us at Old Trafford", said one defender who encountered him in the first leg.

On going into the tie, they only had Van Persie down as a player with brilliant technical skill, not as a warrior. Some, like Sergio Ramos and Xabi Alonso, had already come up against him in the World Cup final, but that player and this one are worlds apart. Ferguson has brought out a side of him that wasn't there before.

The Dutch forward has scored 23 goals this season in 35 competitive matches with United; 19 of which were in the Premier League, 3 in the Champions League and one in the FA Cup. The good news for Real Madrid is that, this season, Van Persie is performing better when playing away from Old Trafford.

Hope he scores but also we need him to play at a similar level to what he did at the bernabeau. The outlet he provided us was fantastic.

No chance he'll miss similar chances to the first leg. If he gets the time/space he'll bury one - I bet that one cleared off the line has been haunting him to some degree.

he's on by his standards a goal drought!

What better way to end that than tonight.

4hours 20 to go...can't wait.

He's due a goal and he'll be wanting to make up for the first leg. He's going to score tonight.

R.V.P is better than he used to be,
Madrid's hopes are over,
United are closer,
We're ready for ya.

Oh, Robin van Persie,
you are not good as Bestie,
but you're still better than Sheasy.

I'm shit at this.

2-1 to United, all three goals scored by RVP. Heard it here first...

I signed up for Skybet earlier for their free £10 bet. I was going to put it on Madrid at 4/5 so I get "something" whatever the out come but thought "nah, £10.50 is no compensation" so put it on Ronaldo FGS, United to win 3-1 at 115-1

I dunno why Marca are talking about RVP because everyone knows his qualities. I think Welbeck was even better up until he had to go off

Striker, can you please make some comments on the Decline of FC Barca. I would love to hear your perspective.

lol decline. I said in that thread they lost their coach. It's a transition not a decline. If losing 2/3 games to Madrid and Milan equals decline then some people don't know what they're talking about. They want to know what decline is? Look at Liverpool. One year they were challenging us. We said it at the time. If they feck up, they'll go backwards and they have. If we were playing Barcelona tonight? It would be just as hard a game, probably even harder so I dunno where this talk comes from :)

Goals apart that was a fantastic display for a forward away from home.

You can say that again!

Around 1000 times.

Disappointed for him. Had a good opportunity to score but Diego Lopez was a fecking wall tonight. Also, he was quite isolated (again) and had very little to work with. Not to mention, he looks knackered.

Upwards and onwards.
