How the feck are they allowed to have a big hole like that so close the the pitch in the first place?

Why do they have to have a big hole in the first place though? I can't think of any other grounds that have them.

Fergie just said sore hip he should be ok after a few days, certainly ok for the Madrid game.

Hopefully just a precautionary substitution! He seemed fine on the bench.

Almost scored an amazing goal. Brilliant ball by Rafael too.

Did he say that? The interview I saw said he'll be assessed tomorrow and he hopes he'll be ready in time for Madrid.

Yea Fergie did say he injured himself in a bizarre way. Just a sore hip and he thinks it will be alright.

Im thinking he will only be getting a cameo performance at most next weekend. Hopefully he gets back into the goals against madrid. Its been too long since he has scored. Certain fans will be asking for him to be sold soon ;)

van Persie isn't a fecking pensioner lads. One fall doesn't end his season. Stop panicking.

Totally agree but I can't help that everytime he takes a bad fall or someone tackles him I find myself holding my breath

He is such an important player for us and I've only just realised what an enjoyable footballer he is to watch. Never really appreciated him in the same way when he was with the arse.

Would like/have liked him to ideally get a goal in the games between the Madrid game. After his miss in the Bernabeu, ideally he'd have gotten that out of his system by the return leg - don't want him carrying any tension at all.

Sir Alex told MUTV after the game: "He collided with a camera, which was in a dug-out piece of ground. He hit the base of it and has a very bruised hip."

He added on Sky Sports: "I imagine it will be tender and sore for a few days but hopefully he will be all right, especially for the Madrid game [on Tuesday 5 March]."

He'll be just fine

Completely precautionary, he'll be grand lads. If there was any concern he wouldn't even have been sat on the bench afterwards.

Ony shame is he didn't rack up some game time and a goal from today although he did grab an assist in fantasy footie terms, feck it 15 points clear and still fighting on three fronts. :D

Said it in the match day thread (I think) it was nothing serious at all. A bruised hip is the worst he could have got.

While I'm here, I've said this in the newbs but wanted to make my feelings clear, what a genius of a guy!!!

Hope he isn't injured badly. Give him a rest for the next match and hopefully he will be 100% for madrid

Do we need a sign in this thread saying "RvP has a bruised hip"? He'll be fine.

Good question.

You being from Norway, after all. Injured people are just left in the snow to die. And you feel no shame.

When they are left in the snow they go into cryogenic stasis... we'll be getting to them as soon as science finds a way to fix 'em.

We'll be told he's out for three weeks, and then he'll make a shock start against Madrid.
