Is it even possible for Piers Morgan to embarrass himself? Surely being Piers Morgan is enough?
 
Why can Arsenal fans not grasp the fact that these players are leaving because they are winning feck all at their club?

I think, like you say, 'agreeing personal terms' is signing the contract as opposed to accepting the offer.


A few days ago I wasn't too keen on this transfer. However, I think we were very reliant on Rooney last season and bringing in another class player allows the pressure to be spread. In addition, what happens if one of Hernandez, Rooney or Welbeck got injured or was going through a run of very poor form?

I hope this is correct, as anything above £20m straight would have been a big gamble, with his injuries, age and our medical staff's history of late. However £15m is perfect and if he performs and stays fit then £22m would be right...

'Cos it's a lot more palatable to blame so-called-greedy players, the board and other clubs.
 
But a compromise has been reached with United understood to be paying £15m as an initial payment, with further fees dependent on add-ons linked to Van Persie’s appearances, goals and silverware won as a United player.

If it's £15m rising then that's a fair price.

Either way, he'll give a boost and improve the team this year. Decent.

Yeah and mainly because they're similar player in terms of positioning and one of them cannot play efficiently well on the wing.RVP and Rooney can work (in theory) very well.

You Chelsea fans have been spoilt with big signings. I am not surprised you don't get excited by them anymore

Yeah that's a great deal, he's a top class striker, so 15m plus add ons is a cracking piece of business...whether he was in the final year of his contract is neither here or there... Rooney and Persie. Can't wait.
 
Only wish someone could write a big piece on this. A Van Persie biography leading up to him signing for United.

I'm stunned. This goes beyond that summer of Tevez, Nani and Anderson. And the fact that we took him from Arsenal is also pretty much unreal.

Bring on the new season. We're gonna be a pretty dangerous upfront!!!!!
 
WTF we got RVP?

I'm delighted we signed a world class striker. Still it feels a bit like the berbatov signing, only he seems more suited to our style but more injury prone.
 
Would not like to be an Arse fan right now. Over the last few years, first Chelsa, than City and now us have raped them of their best players.

Wenger must be gutted.
