Robert Lewandowski

If he doesnt sign for United, then he should sign a three year contract where ever he goes so he will be ready to take over from RVP when he is around 27 and entering his peak years.

By the way, with the suggestions of deals already being done

@rylandjames: #Klopp has uttered words all #BVB fans want to hear when asked about #Lewandowski: "I think he'll stay" after 4gls in #UCL SF #Real

Supposedly Hans-Joachim Watzke has also said that he wants him to stay till the end of his contract.

Watzke said that money doesn't matter and he'll be staying next season. That would be brilliant!

If Bayern nab both him and Gotze, not to mention Guardiola, I think we're seeing a team that'll usurp Barcelona's recent domination of the European Cup.

Scary.

What domination ? They reached 2 finals in the last 5/6 years. Bayern are gonna do back to back this season. We did it in 2008/09 and then again in 2011.

He'd allow us to play more like Dortmund with forward players coming to support a main striker. Van Persie links up well but even he wouldnt slot right into Dortmund's team and fit in as well and obviously Falcao and Cavani even less so as their linkup play isnt on Van Persie's level.

Theres obviously more space for him at Bayern, but we rarely get the chance to sign a player of his level and if we realistically want to win the champions league again we need more quality players to come in. With Rooney going to a deeper role there would be room enough.

Cavani's all round play is right up there with RVP. Falcao's less so.

Both RVP and Cavani will slot in easily to Dortmund too.

Bayern doing early business for Gotze and Lewi. We did the same, only for Zaha!

Zaha will surprise a few on here hopefully.

He'd be back in Poland playing for Jagiellonia Białystok if he had gone to Allardyce's Blackburn. Plenty of teams were in for him when he was on the move in 2010 but two favourites were Napoli and Dortmund. He prefered Dortmund because he felt they were more modern with their stadium and training facilities. It was a great choice, he has improved a lot as a player there.

Napoli did a good piece of business with Cavani as well.

Somehow i doubt that tbh.

From what I have seen of him I think he is the ideal player for SAF to turn into a Ronnie like player, I will not go as far as to say he will be as good as Ronnie but I think the fundamentals are there, the physicality, the speed and the skill.

If he has anything near the desire of Ronnie to be the best in the world I think SAF will turn him into a world class player if he can avoid major injuries.

Hasnt Zaha horribly dissapointed in his last outings? Anyway....

I hope Lewandwoski stays. I'd certainly love him here but I don't think that was realistic at any time so I hope he keeps playing for Dortmund.
Bayern can go feck themselves.

Borussia Dortmund have revealed they hope to keep hold of four-goal hero Robert Lewandowski, despite strong interest from Manchester United and Bayern Munich.

The Polish striker, who is out of contract in a year’s time, put Real Madrid to the sword in last night’s emphatic 4-1 win at the Westfalenstadion to give the Bundesliga side one foot in the Champions League final at Wembley.

Lewandowski has already said he will not be extending his current contract with Dortmund, but the Germans are ready to resist summer bids from United and Bayern even if it means giving the 24-year-old away for free the following season.

Speaking after the Champions League semi-final win, Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp said: ‘I do not have the feeling that Robert is on the run and we are not the ones to send him away.

Let’s wait and see what happens next.’

General manager Hans-Joachim Watzke was keen to play down the prospect of Dortmund losing two key players to their rivals in one season, after it was revealed earlier this week that Mario Gotze will join Bayern for £31.5million on July 1.

‘Robert has a contract until 2014 and there is no exit clause like with Mario Gotze,’ said Watzke.

‘It is our explicit wish to keep him until 2014. That is why we are saying no to a transfer fee.’

Saying that they will let him run down his contract is just the classic 'don't you dare try to low ball us' transfer rhetoric.

He will move for at least 25m this summer I feel.

Yep, wasn't Wenger saying the same with RVP ? I am sure we will say the same with Nani if someone tries to lowball us.

Don't think he's as talented as Ronnie who is a incredible talent but he can be very good, imo.

No ? He was pretty good since January. Has had a couple of bad games only recently.

I'd be surprised if Lewandowski stayed at Dortmund quite simply because Dortmund's self-imposed Financial Fair Play rules means that any salary increase would not match what the likes of Bayern and United could afford.
He'd still be playing at a top club if he moved with chances of winning the CL PLUS getting more money. So is it a no-brainer?
Yes. And I don't even think it's especially mercenary to want to move. Just look at Rooney, he didn't move and he still extorted a new contract ahead of time!

Somehow i doubt that tbh.

I don't. He was a good player back then but no one saw him develop to that level. He's really improved a lot at Dortmund but that stretches to other Polish players who play there to be honest. Piszczek was a poor Bundesliga winger who turned into one of the best right backs in the world and Kuba was just a good winger who turned into a hard-working class player with lots of charisma at Dortmund.

I somehow doubt that Allardyce with his brand of football would get the best put of Lewandowski. He was really lucky to come across a competent coach in Klopp unlike most of our talented youth who go abroad and then fade completely because they're too poor or managers can't fit them in.

Stop trying to whore all the best strikers, you already have enough! Hes coming to Chelsea, or possibly Real Madrid :nervous:

Yeah I meant the last outings. Can't say I'm all too excited about him. Is probably because I haven't watched him much. Just some youtbue vids of his games. We'll see.

He scores goals. Isn't that enough to excite?

Bayern have reportedly put in a bid of £21.2 mil for Lewandowski, giving them till the 15th of May for an answer.

I didn't think we'd really be in for him, but seeing as he is a World Class striker seemingly available for the same sort of deal as RVP (£25m or there about on an impending free) it makes perfect sense.

Sign him, make Rooney's move deep permanent (and also sign a Carrick understudy/heir.

£20M for a top class striker who is 24, and would suit the english game to the ground.

No brainer really surely?.

Why would Dortmund sell him unless they have the perfect replacement lined up? Makes no sense to lose your two best players in the same summer. Dortmund are being treated like Arsenal to City

So last year they spent 70 millions, this year they are willing to spend 38 for Götze and another 20 for Lewandowski? I knew they were in a great situation financially but that really is quite a sum.

Lewandowskis agent has just come out and said hes agreed terms to join another club this summer and that Dortmunds valuation will be met. Sigh

He's got more to his game than I think anybody thought he had.

He started off at Dortmund playing as a #10 in behind Barrios so he's always been an all-rounder up front. He's basically Welbeck but with wonderful composure in the box.

Be very interesting in the CL final if Lewandowski (which looks likely) signs for Bayern. Think this as been handled badly from his agent.

Lewandowskis agent has just come out and said hes agreed terms to join another club this summer and that Dortmunds valuation will be met. Sigh

His agent is a cretin though, he might well be lying. What sort of an idiot comes a day after 4-1 win over Real Madrid to announce their client who scored 4 goals in that game will be leaving the club? feck off Kucharski you massive fecking idiot.

He's got more to his game than I think anybody thought he had.

Everyone who watched Dortmund quite regularly knew that though.

Even before he was such a clinical finisher people always pointed out that his link up play and ball retention is quite remarkable and was one of the reasons why Barrios couldn't get his starting spot back after his injury.

Lewandowskis overall game contributed so much more to the overall game from Dortmund than Barrios and now he has added being a 30 goal per season striker on top of all that.

They would rather sell to us than Bayern I would imagine for obvious reasons.

You would imagine he would hold out for a move to Bayern though. They will have to sell like the Gomez situation with Stuttgart.

Perfect scenario:

Kucharski goes into press and talks about Lewandowski leaving for the next two weeks. He spends the money he's going to make on the transfer on luxury cars, real estate and prostitutes. Then after season ends Lewandowski decides to stay at Dortmund. He fires his agent because he doesn't need him anymore. Kucharski realised he doesn't have the money to pay for all the things he bought. He files in for a bankrupcy. He finds out he has sexual disease. He goes into exteme poverty feeding off on leftovers from dumps. He leads a long and miserable life and no one cares.

Saying that they will let him run down his contract is just the classic 'don't you dare try to low ball us' transfer rhetoric.

I agree.

My City supporting pal who seems to actually have a few contacts down ther reckons Dzeko is nailed on to move to Dortmund in the summer, supposedly all agreed. He predicted the Javi Garcia and Maicon transfers about four weeks before they happened so perhaps theres something in it.
