Robert Lewandowski

Well obviously not sir. You really think I believe that? Just my general observations

I don't believe you think that, but it just annoys me when people speak of the Caf in a way that indicates that we all share the same opinion. I for one haven't been keen on this signing, even after he scored four against Madrid. I don't think we need him and I don't think he'd suit us, as talented as he is.

It's amusing seeing the contrast in posts on here between the first and second legs.

From 'we must get him' to 'do not want' in the space of 6 days.

I'm still firmly in the 'get him' camp. If SAF thinks he's good enough.

I wonder what some people were expecting, another 4 goals?

Those 4 goals were extraordinary last match and nothing any striker can repeat every other game.

Just look at RvP and how many big chances he has bottled this year yet people still rate him as a world class striker because of his overall goal return and play this season.

Same applies for Lewandowski this season imo, he is on the same level as RvP atm.

Excellent technique, very robust and usually quite clinical and good in the big games, a striker every club in the world atm would probably love to have in their ranks.

Whose opinion has exactly shifted anyway ? Any single poster ?

There's still a similar variance of posts, like was there after the first leg.

Of course. I recognise this is a forum with various opinions. Really it's just the knee-jerk nature I'm referring to in all honesty. I find it amusing as well when people talk about the caf in such a way. For whatever reason, I am just in a joking mood today.

Thought he held up the ball brilliantly all game, his finishing was just off. Should have had at least 3 goals which could have been costly in the end but overall it was like RVP at Madrid, great game overall and great hold up play but very poor finishing. Similar shot that hit the bar as RVP as well.

Exactly how I felt. Unlucky and on another day, could have had 3 goals.

Any striker can miss chances, the best of them do. The fact that he was constantly in the right position for those chances, never put his head down and handled the abuse from Ramos tells a great deal about him as a player and a professional. Plus he kicked Ramos straight on, that made him a hero for me!

Yeh it's seemed fairly clear over the last few days that Bayern is the likely destination. Infact that seemed to be the case when Fergie was questioned on it a couple weeks back.

I'm not bothered in the slightest. He's a quality forward but we already have 2 of those.

Wait, I’m not really too fussed whether he comes or not – he’d be a good signing but I think we are more than capable up front already and need to bolster the squad in other positions, but this Twitter stuff is ridiculous. Fjortoft written this:

My interview last night with Bild-boss @joergalthoff in Munich:
Me: Where is Lewandowski going?
Him: He is going to Bayern. Now or 2014

So that = concrete evidence apparently. Even Richard Keys as posted:

Lewandowski done then. Bayern is his destination. For more follow @JanAageFjortoft

It's just absolutely bizarre, twitterverse is 100% certain he will be joining Bayern when his contract expires now because of that 1 post. :annoyed::wenger:

That sucks even more for Dortmund. Him leaving is bad in itself and him going to their main rival is just worse. Doesnt matter if they are getting £20m+ for him. They aint winning that title for the next two years at least.

Isn't this just the usual transfer rumour bollocks though?

For a few days it's definitely United, then it's definitely Munich, then they'll be another about turn and another all through the summer.

I'm sure the reason this has come up is because of Munich's demolition of Barcelona though, & guess you wouldn't blame him if he went to Munich, in a way.

Didn't we lose out on Hazard because the Chavs won the CL, backfired a bit though didn't it?

Say Dortmund won the CL, I reckon the rumour mill would have him staying put then.

It's all bollocks until it's done, classic muppetry.

So the guy who runs the paper that has already printed a story about Lewandowski having agreed a deal with Bayern, thinks he will go to Bayern........ No way

Well Lewandowski has already come out and said he won't be renewing his contract which expires next year. So all in all it's up to Dortmund if they want to sell him or not. I think he is after a hefty pay packet which if he stays in Germany he could only get at Bayern.

In such cases, you're better off waiting until there's some official confirmation. Transfer stories ebb and flow.

For some reason all the german press seem sure he is going to Bayern. They obviously have some inside info, but nothing is ever set in stone.

It would be absolutely nuts for them to sell him to Bayern. Do we think Dortmund are mugs or something? They'll seek to sell him abroad as Sir Alex suggested and if its not to us, I'm sure another big club will attract him. Goetze was completely different because of his clause, Dortmund were powerless. Now they have a good amount of power to determine what happens and the Goetze situation will only make them even more determined to upset Bayern

Pretty sure some other big dogs will come in for him, there are plenty of big teams who could accomadate him quite easily and give him his pay day.

For those who werent paying attention last year, or just those who have forgotten what Kagawa and Lewandowski did last season to this season's champions league finalists and favourites

They brilliantly tore Munich to shreds but surely Bayern's mind was on their home CL final?

Soccernet reporting that The Sun is reporting, United are behind on the signing of Lewandoski, on the verge of signing with Bayern.

Strange that the agreed a fee then?

They didn't know anything about it.

Götze and his agent contacted Watzke and told him that Götze that they would make use of their buyout clause and that Götze would play for Bayern next year, they transferred the money and thus triggered the exit clause and were free to sign a new contract for the next year.

Same as with the Martinez buy, he had to pay the money himself in the end, of course it was Bayern who gave him the money but the buyout clause is always triggered by the player and needs no contact from the buying club to the selling club.

Just media bullshit. They have as much idea as us as to who he is going to sign for. They have been running this shit for days now.

Lewandwoski's agents pretty much told Bild a few months ago that he already has signed two contracts with Bayern, one for next summer if they Dortmund is willing to sell him for 25m-30m € and one for when he becomes a free agent.

Of course this would be illegal from Bayern and thus they are denying any existence of such contracts but as it seems he has already decided where he wants to go.

Oh another funny story, after the second leg game against Real, Perez apparently took Lewandowski aside in the player tunnel and went into an office with him for 10 minutes where he tried to convince him to come to Madrid next season.
