We should go for him. Front 4 of Ibra, Martial, Mkhitaryan and Mahrez would be pure sex! With Pogba and Schneiderlin/Bastian/Carrick behind.
This is such a load of bollocks. Do you not remember the first month or so after di Maria joined when he was far and away the best player we had?
The fact that he failed to maintain that level of performance had little to do with passion or desire and far more to do with a manager who refused to accommodate him properly; instead shoving him from pillar to post and regularly dropping him in favour of someone like Ashley Young.
He would've almost certainly thrived in a United team under Ferguson or even Mourinho.

Because captain wazza HAS to play, that'll be why we aren't in for him. Miki is quite obviously a very good number 10 and that should be his position but because rooney is still stinking up the team it means miki will be played out wide instead so rooney can play 10 badly.

The Arsenal one looks a lot more exciting, pacy and creative than the United line up. Every time I see Rooney at 10 just makes me realise how far we behind the top clubs in Europe. Hopefully Jose can see sense and use him as a squad player only. I think Rooney has created 15 assists in his last 100 odd apps for United and England.
If we can get Pogba I'd prefer to see him play as the advanced midfielder. However if not I'd love to see Mahrez sign for us and have the 3 Ms all interchanging behind Zlatan.
Oscar's form has completely plummeted & Willian should be a rotational player. Hazard & Mahrez out wide would be the Premier League's version of Neymar & Messi.

As you said, LVG realised that Rooney isn't good enough as an attacker (and last season attack was dire). Jose will also arrive at this conclusion, though much more quickly.
Wouldn't be so sure. This is the same José who persisted match after match with the same woefully out of form players here like Ivanovic and he isn't on £300k a week and the face of our club like Rooney is.
It was in part that insistence with poor players that cost him his job.

If we're after Pogba which I believe we're, then I can't see us going for Mahrez too although if I'm being honest, I'd have loved the latter more. Having a front 4 of Rashford-Martial-Mkhi-Mahrez would have been really menacing and one with a good mixture of youth and experience.

I've definitely seen you post this elsewhere, but when Miki had his most productive season playing from the right, why would you think he'd play centrally, let alone want him to do that?
We are not after Mahrez, we signed Mkhitaryan we are not signing everyone.
