Not wishing to go mad on Veron posts but do you think he is worth £28m? Yes or no really will do.

Veron: I wouldn't pay 28m now, but thats because the way the market is going. I still think he was a good signing for 28m pounds because he was worth more in last year's market's terms.

I know you want a more simplistic 'yes' or 'no', but non of those would provide a true reflection.

As for our defence - I am one of those who don't believe we need another first team defender. We need backup for Silvestre but thats it for me. What we need is to get a back-four rolling regularly. So one Rio would go a long way into helping us.

Don't you think a LB who could be a reliable CB would be the Key. That way, Blanc could be rested more often, he is rather old and might not be able to play as regularly as last season.

of course, f'ya I'm sure Seba's only worth 28m if we can sell him f' 47m in 9 mths!

think we'll keep him and win the CL a couple of times

p.s. that's a YES!

Considering all he shite last season, O'Leary did OK! It seems to me he was shafted, to some tune!
And as far as Risdale being a sharp cookie, he has presided over Leeds getting themselves into a situation where they are having to sell half the team. Seems to me that they sacked the wrong one!

:D :D :D

The longer Leeds take over the transfer, the bigger the idiots they will make of themselves

innit...

let the inbreds make a fool of themselves ;)

18m to 30m in 21 mths
28m to 47m in 21 mths (roughly 9 mths from now)

future trophies worth a lil bit more.

Talking about inbreds, I wonder if they'll sign Ibrahim Baa, now that he's available?

Leeds have just issued a statement saying

"That the transfer must be sorted out by noon tomorrow or there will be no more talks"

So if we came up with the asking price at 12.15, Risdale would say no? bullshit!

Do me a favour! If O'Leary was sacked for anything on the field, he would have gone at the end of last season, and if it's to do with dodgy remarks about the players involved in the court case, Risdale should have gone as well. Considering all he shite last season, O'Leary did OK! It seems to me he was shafted, to some tune!

O'Learys remarks did not help but he failed to get CL football or any silverware in the cupboard so he was sacked...the timing is irrelevant.

Sell half the team? What are you on about dipstick - Bowyer has gone thats 1 Rio will go (probably) that's 2 ...long way to go before we get to half the team isn't it?

Don't make me laugh...sack Ridsdale? He just fleeced you for £30m...at least 6m more than Rio is worth.....great business.

So given your current financial plight, which is causing you to sell 2 of your best players, you think your chairman is doing a good job Marching?

He's an absolute laughing stock...

Rubbish...it is because we know that Fergie is so desperate for a CB that we have got the price up from £20m to nearer £30m.....who's the idiots here?

Dirty Bowyer...enjoy the civil case and all the agro it brings pal ;)

Why does every post you make have to include an insult...it shows you up mate. We are in debt...no arguement but the players that were bought that got us in debt are now worth many times more than that debt.

Marching, ignoring the fee, do you think Rio is a good signing for us?

At the end of the day £25 million or £30 million for Rio is irrelevant to Utd. Over 10+ years, which is Rio's potential, and with the silverware we could win, and the money Utd already generate - it's loose change.

Yeah, we may pay over the odds - Utd invariably have to because of the name - but £30 million will only go to paying a Leeds overdraft. You will see very little for the money except on paper a debt reduction.

Utd, however, will have a world-class centre back who will help Utd regain the PL and CL.

no its good, but thats down to the stupidity of the Mancs for forking out that much..

At the end of the day you're being forced to sell your best player( and how many times has Risdale denied this will happen)..so no matter how much cash you're getting you must surely be unhappy..

I wouldn't be happy with our chairman if we were in this cash crisis...

How do you rate him compared to other CB's in the Prem and in Europe? For me he has been among the three best in the Prem the last two seasons, laongside Hyypia and Desailly.

Is he the leader and organiser we need?
Strengths and weaknesses?

It is also down to PR standing his ground - something he could only do if he did not HAVE to sell Rio.

I would have preferred Rio to stay if we were only going to get £20-25m but if we are going to get anymore I can accept him going and TV using that to buy other players.

Cash crisis??.....£18m out and £30m+ in....what crisis?

Dirty Bowyer.

Maybe Risdale was waiting for Arthur Daley, whoops Terry Venables to become available. I'm sure that Palace, and Portsmouth would agree that he's just the man to put in charge of a club with financial problems!
Yeh, two have gone so far (probably), but Dacourt, Keane, Kewell, Viduka, and Duberry have all been touted round in recent months. Risdale should get himself a market stall. What's the betting that at least two of these will be gone by Christmas? And if AF gets pissed of with chasing Rio, it could be more.
Risdale needs to be careful he doesn't push it too far. AF could get Ayala for £10m, which would force Risdale to sell more players to raise cash, so no CL again next year, more debt, and a very unhappy Rio for far less than £35m, if he doesn't get injured. We can afford to be patient, can you? :p :D

Well you'd have to be stupid to sell Ferdinand for 20 odd million when its clear the Mancs are desperate for him...even Risdale can't be wrong in every case..

Yes cash crisis...you are selling your best players to clear up your debt, you will not be spending all the money you receive to improve your squad...

You are a selling club

Don't you like Bowyer anymore?

As has been said before of you Davo you get more like the Ginger Whinger Tim every day. You really are the Tim of the Cafe.

How many more times do you have to be told Leeds needed to make £15m on transfers and lose 4 squad players......Rio and to a lesser extent Dirty Bowyer were not in that initail equation and therefore the situation is different isn't it.

If Dacourt goes along with other players I have already told you about numerous times we will achieve what Ridsdale wanted all along.

£30m for Rio and £9m for Dirty Bowyer are a bonus.

Getting abusive now Mike, after scolding Ruddy for doing likewise? Don't worry..I understand these are hard times for you...

So yes, you are in a cash crisis...how many other teams need to raise 15m in the summer on out going transfers? You are a selling club...

Don't you like Dirty Bowyer anymore? 9m eh? 7m up front and 2 depending on appearances I've heard....minus the percentage to Charlton..

Oooohhhh..I wish we were as rich as Leeds...

Sorry if I appeared abusive mate - all I am doing is repeating what others have said about you....don't shoot the messenger ;)

I have never denied that Leeds need to raise cash and reduce the squad...it is you that has said all along we are broke and needed to sell Keell and Viduka.

The only thing I heard about Bowyers transfer was that LFC were paying the £850,000 Bowyer owes Leeds in addition to any transfer fee.

Enjoy the publicity of the civil case.

Of course I still like Bowyer ;)

Oi, Marching, ignore the Welsh twat and his bickering and answer my questions above instead..

So a cash crisis then, which has made you a selling club..

I never named names of who was likely to be sold, instead suggested that big name players were likely to leave....a fact which you scoffed at, apart from maybe Dacourt. So who was right on that one then Marchy?

You seem to be very slating of Bowyer considering you like him...personally I think he's a twat

I hope we pull the plug on the deal

It's too much money, which can be used wiser

Tell Rio to sit tight, and we'll come back at a later stage (be it a week or a year) and get him for a more sensible price
