Right Winger... Who do we go for?

Maybe we don't need to find one?Once Matic comes back into the team i'd like to see Perreira moved to the right wing in place of Mata,we would still have the creativity and he would add pace and a bit more positional awareness when we don't have the ball.

I agree and would like to see this happen.

We still need a RW. We are going to sign one depending on our manager. If we continue with Mourinho, I can't see him going for a young talent like Dembele, Pulisic, Bailey, Coman, etc. I think he will try to go again for Bale or even Willian.

If we do not move for a player like Zaha in January, then maybe someone is sabottaging the club. We make excuses so much why some other clubs are doing so well but when we have the chance to go for a player we truly need, we bring up an excuse why we cannot sign that player.

If we are going to sign a player in January, then foundations will already have been laid and work would have begun to actualize this dream but I doubt we would see any changes in the way we deal in the transfer market soon.

Although he predominantly plays on the left for PSV, Lozano's been tearing it up in the Eredisive. Only just realised Raiola is his agent though.

We should be heading up that queue when he's available.
I'm not sure you're serious.

I really like the player.
But I don't believe that buying another Dortmund player who is 29 years old and has a bad injury record for 2 seasons now, has never played outside of Germany, doesn't play often as RW would be a good idea (with all the physical abilities playing as winger requires).

I was talking about Sancho. I think the other poster was too.

Isn’t he the young former City academy player?

I was wondering if Sanchez didn't happen, Malcolm deal would be completed with us in the winter window, he was taking English lessons at the time before he fled to London to meet his agents.

Ed Woodward probably wants RW, his first choice is Bale when available but Mourinho haven't done any him favour with his target list the likes of Willian and Pereric over 60m each, I don't think Ed Woodward would be like, "feck that, I'll choose RW myself" as he probably felt it's not good idea considering he has a lack of football scouting network and identify the players he wants, Jose won't have target list anymore since we're heading for DoF type who will have to handle the list of players we target.

Both those ships have sailed.

We really should have put a buyback clause in Zaha's deal. He could surely help us when we need pace on the counter and maybe platoon with Mata (who could play against packed defences) to give us an effective set of players competing on the right.

With Fred being bought and Pereira now in the first team, it's tough to see Lingard getting too many games centrally, this would have been a good year to send him on loan somewhere to sweeten a move for a starting quality RW, and then when one of or both of Herrera and Fellaini go next year he could come back and be our most attacking central midfield option backing up Fred and Pogba.
Doubt that Zaha would come back here. I think he will go to a london club if he ever moves. One of the things said about why he failed here was he didnt like living up here and missed london

Seeing as he has no contract and has always publicly stated he dreamed of playing for United, how about Usain Bolt?

This is a serious question. No pisstake !

I looked for white text, and I hope to god that was sarcasm

Why oh why did we not make a stronger move for Mahrez ?
He's the right age,He's exciting, can go on the inside or out,got 2 good strong feet, great balance, has a very good all round game and is a consistent performer in the PL.

Guess we have to contend with Mata and Lingard for the season again. Two good players granted but playing on the right limits their influence and it limits our overall balance.

If enough people call for it, it will start making sense. We'd be a marketer's wet dream with signing Bolt.
Apart from the fact that Bolt is an awful footballer? I mean what?! Are you crazy

I sincerely hope you’re just having a bit of fun because if you genuinely think we should sign Bolt then you’re insane.

Bolt was an exceptional sprinter and seems like a nice bloke but he’s nowhere near good enough to be a successful footballer. We already did the PR thing and let him train with us. He then trained with Dortmund in Germany, followed by Stromsgodset in Norway and now Central Coast Mariners in Australia. He’s not even good enough for the Australian league. Do you really think we should stick him on the right wing for good PR?! It would make us look like complete idiots. Madness... just madness.

Just saw Hannover play Dortmund and this young winger caught my eye, Linton Maina.
Thought he looked like a top talent, only 19. Anyone else seen this guy play?

We sent scouts to watch him a few weeks ago according to reports in Germany. Plays more on the left doesn't he?

When i googled him it said leftwinger everywhere but he played on the right against Dortmund last night. At least for some time. Looked pretty comfortable there.

He looks two footed and technically sound enough to play in any of the forward positions. It'll be interesting to see how he performs this season.

I still think we should be looking for a craftsman like Eriksen, Fekir or maybe even a younger player like Aouar, but if we are looking at wingers I think the Dortmund duo of Pulisic and Sancho are the two we should be monitoring this season.

Even someone like Adama Traoure would've worked for me. A bit dodgy decision making wise and with his passing, but can dribble well and a unit when he gets up and running. Just signing no one baffles me, it's like the midfield in SAF's later years.

Yeah it is. The common denominator being the owners.

Leon Bailey scored a nice goal cutting in from the right the other day for Leverkusen.

Adama Traoure reminds me of a young Antonio Valencia. His pace and power is insane - he needs to work better for the team though.

Not a USMNT (supports Korea) fan, but I imagine if United added Weah and Pulisic in the summer with Martial going the other way there'd be plenty of happy Americans in this forum.

Just saw that Angel Correas contract with Atletico ends in may, could he be worth a punt in january?
Haven't seen him that much but i think he has looked good, more or less, whenever i did.

Chiesa has improved so much in 2018......he should be our No.1 target and he should also be obtainable in January.
I've rarely seen him play an entire match, but he looks quality in the highlights. Very good dribbler, cool finisher with a nasty shot on him. You think he can take that level into the PL?
