Right Winger... Who do we go for?

It really wouldn't surprise me if United go buy James Rodriguez to play in a similar way to Juan Mata, an inverted playmaker from the right when what we really need an out and out winger or at least a pacey left footed right striker.

The more the window drags on, the more you start to realise Jose wasn't bluffing when he said the team only needs Midfield and Defensive reinforcements and he's not looking to add to the striker options. Forget 6 players, it will be 2 that we have plus another 2 before the new season starts. If we have budget constraints, we could do a lot worse than pick up Hirving Lzano for 25M or Gelson Martins on a Free.

we were offered James last year year and the club declined, redcafe also said he was shite. Like always redcafe is a bunch of morons, James looks like a world beater and one of the biggest steals in recent history.

There aren't many players worth getting right now. Don't think we'll get a youngster (unless they're exceptional) because of Chong. The club's main option in Bale is probably going to stay and Griezmann's out of the question (not that he would be that good a fit anyway), leaving players like Willian, who might not even leave himself due to the probable managerial change. Maybe Mou will actually consider playing Sanchez there.

Wouldn't surprise me if Bayern tell us to feck off.

They don't own the player yet, they have an obligation to buy but the player has to agree as well, if he decides he wants to go to United then he can refuse the Bayern move and Madrid can negotiate a similar or higher transfer fee with United!

Mahrez is most likely going to city but he would cost between 60-70m imo
Thanks... and you are right, but City have Sane, Sterling, Bernardo Silva, etc. So, maybe Guardiola could end up signing another player.

Griezmann didn't sign for Barca and Fekir didn't go to Liverpool, so anything can happen. But I agree with you, he's most likely to go to City.

IMO Mahrez would be perfect for us and he would play in our first eleven.

What about Embalo? Weren't we linked with him last summer?

Linked by whom? His agent via the newspapers. Five minutes looking at that kid and you can see he’s not United quality. I’d rather have Gaitan!

The 1990s style right winger is going extinct, there aren’t many of them left. Willian is probably the best on the market but will Chelsea sell, to us?

Then you are looking at inside forwards who play on the right. Malcom has been talked up by the football hipsters, I ain’t seen enough of him to comment.

I wouldn’t mind the club asking Robben what his plans are. Yeah he’s old but he didn’t look out of place in last season’s Champions League. A one year deal ala Zlatan. Why not?

Otherwise, we could do worse than getting Di Maria back as part of the PSG fire sale. He’s played for Mourinho on the right before so he’ll know what the manager expects.

I agree, he would be amazing on our RW and he is proven in the EPL but its obvious Jose doesn't want him. If we wanted him he would be here already.

Bayern have an option and they already said they ll activate it and nothing could change that. He us a Bayern player and they ll never agree to sell him..no chance at all.

So this Leon Bailey. Isn't he left footed?
I know a lot of players like to play coming inside these days, but what kind of player is he?

Also, not seen him, but I have heard very good things about Federico Chiesa, anybody with any insight?
I don't mind Willian, and to be honest, he fit's the Mourinho mould to a tee.
It's just a frustrating signing. Age, price and willing to defend, although not a bad thing, you can just see why he fits Mourinho so well

Rather than the obvious overpriced media links like Bale or Willian, perhaps we just grab someone with a lower profile like Lozano and let him fight it out with Martial or Sanchez.

He can play on both sides, he is also right footed

So is Rashford, Martial and Sanchez
I'm more saying, he's always been used on the left, so we've no real idea how he'd be on the right

Edit: Just checked some stats, he actually played quite a bit on the right this season.
Could be an option then also

Yeah, he played left last night. For some reason I thought he switched regularly for PSV but I could just be making this up. We’ve been linked to him since before his last move though, and with Mourinho watching in Russia I’m sure a decent tournament won’t harm his chances. I think he’s a Raiola client too.

You clearly don't remember the champions league semi final when James kicked the ball out when Bayern were trying to win the game, all I'm saying this is not a 'done a deal' in the same way Douglas Costa was to Juventus, most of the rubbish in the media is just that but Ronaldo, James and Jose are all Mendes Clients and there is a real desire from all 3 to end up at Man United together providing the funds can be made available, they share a similar wining mentality and passion for money and the game.

Bayern have offered James €160k per week, United €240k ....dont ask me how I know but I do, an awful lot of Agents business is discussed sometimes too openly especially in Alderley Edge. You may well be right and it could be Mendes leveraging Bayern for more money like he's trying to leverage Madrid for money for Ronaldo but if he fails both players would be more than happy to join United however unlikely it currently seems!

Use the above, invest money at LB and CB, plus perhaps another CM.

I don't dislike Willian, I'd not be angry if he is who we end up with, I feel its shortsighted, and there's better options out there. But he'll work hard and he's clearly going to deliver exactly what Jose wants.

Think some of you got the wrong player. Was talking about Umaro Embalo, the Portuguese winger not the Swiss kid Embolo...

Wouldn't mind adding Willian and signing a youth talent who can take over once he's ready.

I reckon Julian Brandt is the real deal and he'll be a good signing. Additionally, Bayern haven't tapped him up yet and he's still only 22.

Brandt looks very talented. Came on and had an immediate impact as a sub against Mexico the other day, as well. I had never seen him play for the national side, but he looked calm and confident. Leverkusen have some real talent on their team.

Yeah, he seemed to have a really good mentality and was certainly not phased by the situation. He looked like Germany's best chance of making something happen in the end.

Lozano would be massive hit at United

i presume its Willian or bust, which is quite depressing.

'Willian or bust' is truly depressing because it means of we don't get Willian, we won't get anyone. But getting Willian is not depressing at all. There are few right wingers better than him in world football at the moment.

Much more productive playing from the left, cutting in on his right foot. I doubt we'd have any interest in another left-sided attacker.

Many thought the same during the Jan window

Mahrez would be ideal, but far too mercurial for Mourinho, which is a shame because he’s proven to be devastating counter attaching for a low-block team.

Willian is good but not someone who can win games regularly over a season; if he’s unattainable, it’d make sense to play Dalot ahead of Valencia.

Dalot right wing?
