Right Winger... Who do we go for?

Yes but I didn't say I thought we'd get him, just go for him. Similar to Ramos last season.

I think he will be the "balls in" United target this season. But more likely United will end up with someone else.

I think United have the same chance of signing Neymar or Muller as Bale.....its not going to happen.
We should be trying to get targets like Sane for the RW IMO.

I don't disagree. I much prefer a quick saga-less transfer like Bailly than one like Ramos last year. Or what Pogba/Bale would be.

I just think that's what will happen, we'll go all in for Bale and create a saga for a month or two.

should bring that beckham lad up from the youth team

RF - Rashford
CF - Zlatan
LW - Martial

With Zlatan often dropping into the 10 position and Rashford moving into his position I think this front three could be truly fantastic. This means we would have to play a 4-3-3 formation, which in my opinion suits the players we have more than any other formation.

Problem is I don't see mou playing 4-3-3. I feel as if we will be 4-2-3-1 and if so why not try Valencia back on the right? There aren't many options out there and him along with Darmian would work great defensively. Also provides a lot more pace than Mata.

He has used 4-3-3 in the past when he has had the players for it so you never know. But I also think he will probably use the 4-2-3-1 formation. As for Valencia he just isn't good enough to be our right midfielder in my opinion.

Mahrez doesn't strike me as a Mourinho winger, especially if played opposite an offensively-oriented player like Martial. Mahrez is a great offensive player and chance creator but he doesn't have particularly good pace, physicality, or defensive contribution. If his past teams are any indication, Mourinho will look for more of an all rounder for the RW.

I thought Mahrez has a good pace. He reminds me a lot like Di Maria and Mourinho likes Di Maria.

Apart from their similar scrawny physiques, I don't think they're that similar. Mahrez is a lot more of a successful one-on-one dribbler, very adept on either foot (whereas Di Maria was hideous on his right) and is a lot less instinctual. I don't know how great Mahrez's engine is either - Di Maria was notoriously bloodhound-like under Mourinho, whilst I've always felt like Mahrez was given the creative licence to be one of the very few who didn't run themselves into the ground every week for Leicester.

To be honest if we judge the transfer rumour so far. We haven't been linked with any wingers except Embolo. And I really don't like the idea of signing a teenager for this position as we have enough inexperienced players in this field like Memohis, Lingard and Januzaj.
I genuinely think that Valencia has chance to have a go as a right winger in 4231 Mourinho. Pace, strong and work rate. In fact Mourinho is probably going to use him to make his attackers more balanced. And if Mourinho do watch our games end of season, Valencia looked very dangerous going forward, he look like a better player than his previous 3 seasons. Quicker, stronger, more fit, beat his men, and his crossing got better and they weren't fluke as he did deliver a lot of good ones in recently games, and he got a few assists as well which sounds like he's back to his prime years. So I won't write his name off.

Both are skillful and the way they dribble are similar. And both also knows how to make a through pass and got good vision. Which I think if Mourinho likes Di Maria then I reckon he likes Mahrez as well.

I still feel that if we're signing Mkhitaryan, it should be with the aim of playing him as a #10, and then sign another player for the RW. But then this would also mean the end of Rooney as a starter which I'm sure isn't happening anytime soon (unfortunately).

I think you might be partly right, Rooney didn't play as an AM for us at the end of last season and the other night for England he played deeper as well.

------------Ibrahimovic

Martial----Mkhitaryan---Rashford

-------Rooney---New DM

Wouldn't surprise me at all.

That would be a very light midfield though, not sure if Rooney can be trusted in a midfield two (granted Mkhitaryan can make that 4-3-3 off the ball). Rooney still has a good engine but a lot of defensive responsibility will fall on him in that role.

There's a lot of things you can criticise Rooney for but his defensive work is not one of them imo.

He'll start next season in centre midfield, I'm fairly sure of it.

Rooney is much better than Fabregas defensively, but the question is - will he be as creative as Fabregas was in Jose's title winning season? I think we may need him to be if we want to win the league. He has played very well in this position up until now, but I would like to see how he does in this position against good opposition.

Roy Hodgson trusted Rooney in a two man midfield against Russia and he did great in that new role. That performance might convince Jose to deploy him as a CM against inferior oppositions in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Against Superior teams I think we are going to play in 4-3-3 position as we had already seen in Jose's Chelsea days.

Do you not fancy Morgan or TFM for the DM position? I think Morgan will be much better under Jose. I would still like us to get Kante though as he is better than Morgan and would work better with Rooney in my opinion.

Whilst I fully expect Rooney to be deployed in midfield, I don't believe he's capable of doing so in a midfield-two. That puts too much defensive expectation upon him, whereas playing in a 433 gives him the license to contribute both in defence and attack. If we're lining up 4231, then Rooney is playing behind the striker.

As for the right-winger, I expect that could be on rotation. We won't have a totally fluid front three if Ibrahimovic comes in. He'll remain fairly central, Martial on the left, but Rashford could occupy the right hand side. As could several others - Memphis, Lingard, Januzaj, Valencia, Pereira or Embolo (if he arrives).

433 suits this team and is the most balanced and fluid. We have Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger and Carrick who can all hold. If we can bring in a box-to-box midfielder then we could be in business.

It's risky I agree but I think he'll be given the chance to take the role up the way he was at the end of last season and now for England, it may be that playing deeper is more natural to him than we imagined, his tracking of runs has been pretty good IMO. For the bigger games I think we'd go to 4-3-3 with Mkhitaryan moving to the RW and Schneiderlin coming in as extra legs in mdifield.

I think Schneiderlin's best form came when playing as more of a ball winning box to box for Southampton, with Wanyama sitting deeper, and it's too early to be sure exactly what role is best for TFM, he has a lot of potential but isn't ready to be a starting fixture IMO. Kante or Krychowiak would be the best options for the DM role for us I think.

That Sisto lad from Migetland that tore us a new a hole in Europe. Looked like a workhorse too, which Mourinho loves from his wingers.

Not at the Euros so he'll be fresh and ready to be molded by Mourinho.

How about this fellow Weiss who scored the first goal against Russia this afternoon?

He seems a great nippy player and like most the Eastern country players should not be pricey.

Ex Man City youth player and first team player do not want lol.

Would take Aguero as an ex City player if that was an option.

Its hard to get a really good RW player and I'm not sure Mourinho has made it his priority. So far hes been very quiet and playing it all very close to his chest.

Lucas Moura would be a good signing, needs to up his consistency level though.

Mkhtarian would be the choice this season, but it seems Dortmund will hold onto him for the season and let him go free after that. Smart play from them as he will be 28 then and wanting a last major contract somewhere and may struggle to find it at that age, depending on his stats for the season or who else is available. I suspect Dortmund will sell him and are driving the price up for him, be a good deal to swap Mata for him.

Struggle at 28? The games going mad lol does everybody only sign youngsters now? 28 is a great age for a free transfer.

I was basing it on him having an off season as his head might not be right as he is seeking a move away. But if he has a bad season, gets injured or Dprtmund have a shocker of a season and doesn't play much then he may struggle to get a big move. The season he has just had is the best time for him to get to a big club and I hope we bid for him and Dortmund let him go, would defo improve us on the RW.

I wouldn't be at all averse to Mourinho bringing Charly Musonda with him from Chelsea. Hasn't really gotten a look in, but is a super talent. Glides with the ball, talks men on with ease.

He can be a real star if given the right environment.

Riyad Mahrez...would guess that we could get him for £30-35m
Sounds like Ranieri won't be forcing anyone to stay

That's Ranieri's style. He uses charm to get his way.
He'll say that he can leave if he wants, but then he'll finish that off with a speech, which will persuade the player to stay. Man management, I think it's called.

What do you think about Gabriel Jesus? I think he has the potential to be as good as Neymar in a couple of years.

Maybe Dembele is a big talent as him, but he already signed for Dortmund.

Off to Barca.

Sofiane Boufal. Insane dribbler. Can play on both wings and through the middle. Inconsistent and can be selfish, but his dribbling skills are amazing.

Sanchez......He either extends this summer with Arsenal or they have to think of selling.

I thought Alexis Sanchez had renwed hia deal with Arsenal?

If he is available United need to be front row and pay whatever arsenal ask because he is the perfect RW for this club. If he's not availble then obviously we look elsewhere.

Doesn't he play more on the left?

Edit: I checked, he does normally but can play on the right as well
