Film Ridley Scott is making Gladiator 2

Little fact. That's not Russell Crowes hand caressing the wheat in the Wheatfield scene. It was just a production set crew member.

Scott also directed Napoleon, no? I haven't seen that but given the reviews and 6.4 on IMDB it's not exactly a masterpiece.

Will he ruin Gladiator 2?

Feels like Pedro Pascal is in every series and movie lately  crazy how big he blew up after Being Oberyn in GOT

he’s attractive ugly. that’s very big right now.

I reckon Paul Mescal is going to be brilliant in this. Acting chops aside, he’s a top class athlete so will be really believable in all the action scenes. He’s even got the Roman nose!
Is this his first big mainstream role? Hope he smashes it he seems like a great lad

Almost certainly. Ridley Scott hits a few but misses most. Makes it worse because you always go in with some expectations

I heard a story about him once.

When he sleeps with a girl, the next morning he'll suggest going for coffee and put on running shorts and running shoes.

As they leave, they'll walk a bit and he'll just go for a run leaving her.

Genius.

I was more thinking about his GAA career but sounds like that was good preparation for more than just gladiator movies.

Have no great love for the original but Scott putting out a vast-budget Roman epic at 86 years old is amazing. He belonged in the Golden Age.

Yeah I think Pedro is great but I also hate that about Hollywood sometimes. I wish they would have picked some up and coming actor or a lesser known face in general, especially when you already have Denzel Washington in it as well. I'm sure he ll knock the role he has out of the park though. At the very least Is hope he plays a bad guy this time around.

Heard this one is centered around the emperor Caracalla or maybe I misheard? I'm open minded about another film, though I thought Joaquin Phoenix was the best thing about the first film- a really creepy performance.

just mid-understood, with a fit sister. we’ve all been there.

My friend was in the same acting class as Mescal, remember going to see a play they put on and he blew everyone away. Was always going to be a star. Normal People, Aftersun and All of us Strangers are all brilliant, too. Can't say I expected him to be in a Gladiator sequel but I'm still intrigued! it's a shame Ridley Scott has mostly made shite since the first one.

Yeah if Cian O’Neill is praising you you must be in decent shape

If they can match up to the soundtrack and music of the first one, that itself is enough.

That series of 3 in a row is fecking impressive, he's absolutely perfect in all 3.

Napoleon ruined any excitement I had for this.
