Richarlison - Joining Everton for £50m

If they had a clue, they could have built quite a good team by now. They've spent loads on average players from within the PL. Do they not have international scouts? They'd be a better investment.

Richarlison £50m Gylfi Sigurdsson £45m Yannick Bolasie £25m Michael Keane £25m Jordan Pickford £25m Davy Klaassen £24m Theo Walcott £20m Cenk Tosun £20m Morgan Schneiderlin £20m Ashley Williams £13m.

If I were an Everton fan I'd find that alarming.

And how many of those have been a success? Pickford, Walcott, Tosun and Sigurdsson perhaps. Klassen has hardly played, Keane and Williams have made mistakes, Bolasie has had injury issues, and as for Schneiderlin (i don't even know if he's been a success or not) because at times he's been anonymous

They must been the most idiotic club around.. You just cannot justify that sum for a player like that.

Good luck to them, they can't do any worse than their last transfer window, really like Silva, hope they do well.

Richarlison will win the golden boot for Everton if they purchase him.

You heard it here first.

Even accounting for the inflation of the transfer market, this is scandalous. Absolute absurd amount of money for this guy. Everton got to be careful. They've spent a crazy amount of money on some pretty average players these last few seasons. And for what exactly? They're not getting top 4

Is not true that they are paying an "extra value" in this deal to calm down Watford and stop their action against Everton in the FA due to the situation with Silva last season?

At 50 million, Sigurdsson has certainly not been a success. Schneiderlin is terrible.

If this is really true then this transfer is even worse than it already appears to be.

Wow. Malcolm is available for less. Perisic would probably cost less. Shaqiri was 13m. What are Everton playing at? Sigurdsson had some moments before they overpaid for him but Richarlison? Pub player

Both of those are proven, top level players. You know what you are going to get with both. They won't be Messi or Ronaldo but they're almost guaranteed to do the job you buy them for.

Richarlison is a talanted kid who has proved nothing. £50 million would be a massive gamble, especially for Everton where they don't have money to burn.

I agree with you. Was making the point that there is a stark difference between the quality you get in Europe and English premium prices.

Since nothing was official and the fees are just people guessing, I guess you could change thread title.

He is another overrated player from the Prem. The money thrown around nowadays in football is disgusting.

The problem is Everton can't actually get these players. Malcom has chosen Roma, Perisic is not about to leave Inter for them and Shaqiri obviously would prefer Liverpool.

They're willing to spend money but that doesn't mean much if the best talents are uninterested. So they have to go for the riskier buys, the ones the top sides are not taking a chance on.

Problem is, the smaller clubs want to keep their talent. They will struggle to replace it and they're all rich themselves due to the PL being such a wealthy league. Watford also know Everton have cash to splash and impatient fans, so naturally will rinse them.

It's the same reason the likes of Zaha haven't left Palace. He's not top tier but he's vital to them so their valuation reflects that. Sure, Everton can look abroad but that comes with its own big risks and foreign clubs aren't stupid, they know the prem is overflowing with money.

Bolasie and Richarlason as wingers.. They wont be challenging for any european spots, but they should finally have some pace and width which they were desperately missing this last season.

Average player cost 50m these days.. insane

They don't, there is a reason why average clubs are average. Just as an example, last summer Monaco purchased Baldé Keita for 27m.

Other leagues don't have to pay the PL tax. Keita going to Everton or Tottenham instead of Monaco would be £40m.

He’s very highly rated in Brazil, and was the highest scoring 20 year old in the Brazilian league before Watford signed him. This is the first preseason he has had in two years after playing in summer tournaments etc. He looked great when he first joined Watford, and he found himself in lots of decent 1v1 situations but was poor at finishing.

I think he is a very raw talent, but he has a great work ethic and is a real team player in his chasing around and tracking back if asked. I think it this could be a decent season for him, especially under Silva and his playing and managerial style.

£70m for Zaha?

We will make a huge profit if he is sold for big fee. Don't think they will sell him for any less than 50-60 million considering Ox with year left on his contract went for 35 million, Richarlison costs 50 million.

Hopefully when Zaha is sold, its for huge fee. We have big sell on fee, confirmed by Crystal Palace owner.

Well that could actually mean they would prefer to keep him and sell him for less when he is a year away from being expired or let him run down his deal if they don’t receive most of the fee.

Bloody hell, £50m for Richarlison? That's genuinely absurd, he looks talented but not £50m talented  the most ridiculous thing is that Ademola Lookman had a very good season at Liepzig, plays a similar role, he's younger and he's already at Everton, yet they're are potentially selling him for half the price. To be honest, I'd go so far as to say Lookman is the better of the two personally.
