Richarlison - Joining Everton for £50m

Sigurdsson & Richarlison for £100m? Everton have lost the plot.

meanwhile they are selling Lookman, who had 5 goals and 4 assists in only 11 Bundesliga games last season, to Leipzig for 15m, according to reports in Germany.

Chapeau Everton, that's a whole new level of stupid.

£35m rising to £50m, as the article says.

It’s not the worst deal the world has ever seen. He’s got a lot of potential and they could easily flip profit should he do well.

His first half of the season was really good, too. His drop of form coincided with Silva acting a knob once the Everton links sprouted up.

He's a good player but £50M is ridiculous. Surely Everton could've negotiated a better price there?

Deals like this destroy the market far more than the neymar deal.

100m on two players who would struggle to get a game at a top four club Utter madness.

I don’t think the price is so crazy. The guy obviously has a high ceiling and the new manager has seen it in training before. The huge question is; how on earth did he do so great and then so badly last season? Big question mark.

Just when you thought the transfer prices couldn't shock you anymore... football has gone mad, they need to bring some sort of cap in, all this heavy spending is not good at all.

Are you rate him above Lukaku also? i know you rate Lukaku like a piece of shit

Would get someone of equal quality from the other leagues like France, Germany etc. for 50% of that.

Thauvin for example, had a helluva lot better season than Richarlison.
Thauvain is in a better and more exciting team than Everton, he's not going there.

I'm not sure if they could attract someone like Malcom or if he would be a better deal than Richarlison.

Just realised they have Lookman who are they trying to sell for £20m.

He’s younger and has a high ceiling. His stats in the Bundesliga were good as well.

I thought they signed that bloke from Leicester to sort out their transfer policy? Since he’s come in they have been terrible in the market.

It's funny how PL clubs raking in the money was going to see them surpass other leagues but all they've done is started paying 3x for the same quality of player from other money laden clubs in the PL instead of using this advantage to get much better quality from abroad.

1) probably bs
2) if true their scouting system is shambles
3) they are really stupid to spend cash on an average player/talent

He looks a talented player and will be do well for them but that fee is madness. Everton's transfer activity is pretty mediocre these days. Didn't they spend 40/50 million on Sigurssson too? And a fair bit on Bolasie? Either they don't spend or they do on average players.

Signing players form other EPL clubs has become almost an impossible task. Everyone has money.

Everton desperately need pace and youth up front, Silva clearly rates him and knows how to get the best out of him. Obviously the fee is ludicrous but the bigger clubs all over Europe, not just in the PL, will be sniffing around a young Brazilian winger if he has a couple of productive years with Everton.

Daft money. Malcom would be available for less and for me is a much greater talent. Richarlison gives Everton something they've been lacking which is a pacey, direct wide-man who has a bit of physicality about him (Lookman seems to have improved massively given a chance at RB Leipzig though, although even Batshuayi looked liked a world-beater at times in the Bundesliga last year) but his end product leaves much to be desired and he faded massively once teams knew a bit about him and were about to develop a game-plan to neutralise him.

.

At that price take a punt and loan him out for a year... 20m for a top young English attacking talent!

Lookman, calvert-lewin, richarlison, could be the basis of a forward line for years to come so I'd be surprised if they Got rid of him but there has been a few crazy decisions at Everton... Koeman... Big Sam... Buying gilfi and Rooney etc

Watford must be really happy if this indeed does go through. They have just bought Ken Sema from Östersund who had Bellerin in his pocket during their game against Arsenal and I think he will really be a great signing for them. They won't really miss Richarlison since he was benched pretty much the second half of the season anyway.

True... Thought suspect Malcolm might get offers from better clubs than Everton?

Yeah fair point, seems like Roma might be after him now. But the allure of the PL might tempt him and Everton can probably afford to offer him higher wages. Doesn't seem like they have even really made enquiries, but who knows?

Its 35m + add ons if they qualify to CL and that will never happen.

35m for Richarlison seems fair in today's market.

Didn’t his form drop when the winter schedule hit? Like countless other foreign imports - initial enthusiasm at playing in the Premier League only for reality to bite. Its an unforgiving campaign. It’s the players that make it through that adjustment period that succeed.

Feels like Everton are jumping the gun.

And this is exactly why it’s “Wot!... No transfers”, ridiculous money for him, yes he is young but I have seen nothing from him that suggests he is going to be a good top flight performer. There is more of a chance he will flop at Everton.

The sigurdson transfer was one that really disgusted me with the transfer markets current inflation.....this is the one that’ll piss me off this summer. Good player, but 50M? Just crazy

The PL is getting ridiculous. Wee clubs spending this kind of money..

Is the reason football is so expensive these days so that teams can throw arbitrary sums around for players? Because would seem quite stupid.
