Richard Dunne...

he'd be a good man to have on the bench as back up, knows the prem inside out and has plenty of international experience.

With Rio and his chronic injuries id say if the price is right get him!

We bought Blanc when he was 35. Mind you he was a different class of player to Dunne, and even so we probably shouldn't have bothered.

Quite fecking obviously we're not going to be interested in Richard cocking Dunne.

Interested to understand how many of those championing Dunne are Irish.

Personally I think he's a decent enough player, but light years away from United's requirement.

I'd be pretty fecking furious if we put Fatty Dunne on our books!

After a difficult first 2-3 months of his debut season I though Blanc ended his first season with us very well.

In his second season with us he was absolutely outstanding. Particularly in Europe.

Wish we had more Blanc years to look back on.

As for Blanc, I think you're being very kind to him. He still had the class that the best never lose, pace was obviously an issue, but I don't think he ever really took to the English game. I also think he had an adverse affect on other players around him, that period was easily the worst for Gary Neville during his United career. They seem to lose all trust in their positional awareness. More Blanc years to look back on sure, but they should have been earlier than when he eventually came, not later

This i can't agree with.

I'm not being kind. He was superb after an initial bedding in period, irrespective of age.

I take what you say about adapting to English football - his very best performances were definitely in Europe. But i still think he was very impressive over here once he got to grips with it.

Wasn’t saying I wish he’s stay longer – but would have liked to have seen him have more of a career with united. Gutted he didn’t fancy a coaching role either.
