Rest In Peace, Kath Phipps

Seeing players from 30 years ago and current players talk about her in the same way shows how special she was to the club. RIP.

Very few people in life will get a send off like she is getting. Clearly an absolute gem of a person and human being and the very heart of our club.

Looks like she is an incredible woman loved by all, reading all the messages from our players made my eyes wet unknowingly.

This is the beauty and soul of our club and hope we manage this continue this tradition.

RIP Kathy and enjoy your time in Haven!

Ah man. This is nuts. Why did I read through this thread with a massive hangover. Way too emotionally fragile for this. Now I’m in tears about an old lady I knew nothing about before this thread and who lived a good innings. What the feck?!

The messages from all the players across the generations really hit me right in the feels. Maybe because it makes her seem like a constant throughout my own time as a fan? Feck knows. All I know is that I wasn’t ready for this. Not this morning.

Will the club be doing something for her at our next home game?

Thing is we felt we knew her. Every player that was signed Kath was there when they showed them arriving at the training ground.

It feels like she's been part of the soul of the club for a long time. Reading those tributes from players across generations makes you wish you knew her. She's left her mark on the club and the players. The United family has lost a star.

RIP Kath.

Louis Saha: “I’m so sad!!! Everyone affiliated to the club knows what she meant for us players and staff. She was our guaranteed smile and support. She was so Manchester United. Peace and Love Kath.”

Norman Whiteside: “Kath, we first met in 1978 when I was on trial. Such a lovely lady, she will be sadly missed from the Man Utd family. RIP.”

The amount of tributes that have been pouring in since yesterday says it all. She was a massive part of the football club and will be missed. RIP Kath.

This hit harder than i expected. Didn`t realize just how loved and important she was at the club.

Absolutely gutting news. With all the chaos of the last 10 years it was always comforting when you'd hear about her and know that she was still there as the fabric of the club.

Deserves all the words of praise as one of the most loyal people in all of football.

I'll be keeping her family in my thoughts, the club just became slightly more grey.

RIP. Nice touch from the club. What an achievement. I always have a soft spot for people who have worked in an institution practically all their lives because that shows dedication and loyalty which is hard to find these days. One thing I'm certain of is that she lived a very rich life, she had seen the club in all of it's stages including the highest peak - you can't buy that. And she's actually there contributing something which makes it even more precious. A legend basically.
