Reported dressing-room bust-up

You can still have seven shades of shit knocked out of you in a public place.

I would actually pay good money to watch an action man in this forum, who calls McTominay every name under the sun, to say their critique to his face.

The person would be horizontal in 5 seconds
.
Yep.
I've seen both Moyes and Ferdinand deck idiots who were hassling them in bar/restaurants.
They did the right thing in first asking them in a civilised way to leave them in peace but when the drunks persisted they were put on their arses.

No surprise that Bruno and Martinez were involved. Two players that actually have a bit of fight and pride about them.

Also no surprise that Mctom and Lindelof are the two they were having a go at. Two players that have been hiding recently. Scared to take any responsibility.

This.

Think the real surprise is you believe the Sun.

i watched McT get beat on the sideline and just jog back defensively without any sort of effort....that has pretty much epitomized the defensive effort of the midfield this season

And McTominay would be in a prison cell and suspended by the club.

Whilst he may be a mediocre premier league player, I doubt he's as violent and sensitive as you

Its quite sad when the supposed water carrier shirks in his work rate.

This is normal and happens everywhere. I mean, they were blitzed at home. If they weren’t arguing/fighting then it would be worrisome

don’t let tabloids concern troll and outrage farm you
Exactly. Players who are happy after defeat and don’t show feelings should be sold.

I'm wondering if he wants out? Is he annoyed that he didn't get sold to WH?

No, they shouldn't. You need a mix of characters in a dressing room. You need players that are ultra competitive, some have to be calm, you need leaders, followers, jokers and everything. And the reason for that is that you need to be able to move on from very bad and very good periods which generally requires different type of personalities and different type of moods in the dressing room.

Most likely, we seem to find ourselves in this situation often, where a player has been told he isn’t in the managers plans, or there’s been attempts to sell them etc, and then for one reason or another we’re forced to play them anyway.. it’s asking for trouble, you’d be better off playing the kids really, but the higher ups won’t sanction enough sales/purchases for us to get rid of them, so they hang around like a bad smell for a few years.
Edit: just read the interview with Ole saying he was only allowed to buy 3 players per window.. it’s madness, that’ll explain a lot of it

You guys are reading way too much into it. This was hardly something new, Scott's always been lazy at getting back when the opposition get in behind him. It's just getting a lot more notice this time because it led directly to a goal where he was in the frame the entire time so his entire 'effort' was caught and replayed constantly.

I remember Rooney telling a tale of how he and Carrick were fuming after a home defeat, but when they got into the dressing room, Lingard & Pogba were dancing about like they'd just won the FA Cup.

Its all about attitude and mentality, can you imagine the likes of Keane or Robson meekly accepting a home defeat to Brighton?

It was at the training center the following day and the complete story from Rooney was that he later realized that he was wrong.

I agree entirely with this point you make. 'Gardening leave' isn't really appropriate especially when injuries occur and the manager after having had 'the talk' with a player, and who has apparently tried to sell him, then has to say "oh sorry I need you today to run your legs off.... but you need not unpack your bags"!
It's the management of the madhouse, and perfectly obvious that a player who previously had 'hunted' and chased down opponents was now strolling back as the opponents surged forward.
Nothing but nothing seems to settled at the club, from its possible change of ownership, down to who's going, why and when!
The Theatre of Dreams, more like the Theatre of Nightmares!!

Exactly, for some reason some have ignored that aspect from day one. McTominay has never been a workhorse defensively, nor is Wan Bissaka, the two of them have the strange habit of slowly jogging when we are countered.

Yeah, I actually mentioned AWB does the same thing in that post but then deleted it before posting. The two of them both do it regularly but somehow rarely get called on it.

Don't forget Casemiro and Eriksen in the slow to get back and unable to sprint category.

You talking about Scott there? Because he really hasn't. That exact situation where the opposition get in behind him and then he lazily jogs back has always been one of my biggest criticisms of him.

I really wish I'd saved a clip of the time a few years ago where Fred had to come chasing from the other side of the field, literally straight past the slowly jogging Scott, to win the ball back and bail us out of trouble. Scott had done it plenty of times before and plenty of times since, but more than any other time that was the one that really showcased the laziness. Fred had a significantly longer way to run but he busted his arse to do it, and the fact he had to run past Scott to do it was pathetic.

I heard somewhere that McTominay only completed 17 passes on the weekend, that is shocking for a midfielder

I wouldn't put them in that category because they actually track back and try. Eriksen is just generally not fast enough and never has been while Casemiro's issue is that he is too often mistakenly far from the action due to his box to box nonsense and compensate with silly tackles. McTominay and AWB are just two of the most shameless players you will find, in fact in the case of AWB he also generally refuses to overlap or spring on his wing, he stops around the 60m line and then walk until he receives the ball, that kind of thing totally kills momentum.

Oh yes, Casemiro was equally bad for that first goal against Brighton. Normally it's something I wouldn't associate with him though, but there are very worrying signs that he might be physically finished.

Eriksen...well he is physically finished. As such it's more understandable as it's more an inability to get back, rather than just choosing not to. End result might be the same, but I won't hold him to the same standards as somebody who's biggest contribution to the team is supposed to be his workrate.

Is anyone at all surprised that there was a dressing room bust up after the Brighton match, the surprise would be if there wasn't one?
We are it seems back to the stage were the only thing 'United' about the team is they are all wearing the same kit!

There were a lot of injuries we know and a lot of the 'deck chairs' had to be rearranged on the first team 'deck', but it was awful to watch and the result was inevitable after the ease in which the opposition scored the first goal.

A lot of players seeming to be playing for themselves, this is very bad situation in any team, a real headache for the manager with more 'dust ups' to come.

In terms of development stages of Forming; Storming, Norming and Performing, we have a long way to go, yet!
Tuckman model on the RedCafe. Noice

Bruno isn’t the right person to “call out other players” right now.

Yeah. Because every person in the world who has fisticuffs goes straight to jail without passing go.

Schmeichel and Keane got into a fist fight. Bardsley knocked out Rooney. Cantona kicked and punched a Crystal Palace fan. Bower and Dyer came to blows. Hartson booted Berkovic in the face. Craig Levein knocked out Graeme Hogg. Le Saux smacked David Batty.

(And those are the ones we know about)

My memory is a wee bit sketchy. How long did the aforementioned spend in prison?

And you're calling me sensitive.

You're such a snowflake that you think everyone who has a dust up should be sentenced to porridge.

Good idea. Forget about the gangsters, drug lords, serial killers, rapists, etc. Lets fill our prisons with people who have a scuffle instead.

Genius idea.
