Replacing Rooney

Stick with the forwards we have, if Fergie thinks Macheda is as good as we're made to believe then Macheda, Berba, Hernandez, Owen with King in backup should suffice.

I'd invest the money in the midfield, maybe Defour (who's name has been banded about, not seen much though), Hamsik or Sneijder (doubt we'd get a bid accepted, mind).

We would certainly need to get a proper and proven goalscorer to replace Rooney. Hernandez is not there yet i reckon, not for another 2-3 years

Dzeko
Sanchez
Bale
Kaka in a swap deal with Madrid + 20 million for the scouse twat

A new era is in store for the 2011 season

My god at the end of the season I thought it would be about bringing in a top class midfielder or two, replacing van der sar

NOT about replacing our only worldclass player

Stagnant period ahead for us I believe

Evra, Rio, Vidic, Scholes, VDS are all bonafide world class on their day. Fletcher, Nani, Berbatov are near enough there on form depending on who you ask.

Just saw that Everton get 25% of the fee.

feck me. How the feck are we going to replace him?

Ah I wouldn't go as far as to say that. United knew his intentions Summer just gone and I'm sure that moves are going to have been made to make sure the transition is as smooth as possible. Who United bring in or what we do remains to be seen but I'm sure something is planned

Also since the World Cup and into the new season Rooney hasn't been World Class. It only matters when a player plays like a World Class player. Berba for example has been a whole lot more useful to us on the whole thus far.

This is all so bizarre I don't even know where to begin...

But if the boy has to go - use City to hike up the price, then send him to Madrid with Benzema and cash coming back. Use the cash to sort out the left PROPERLY.

This could be alright...

-------------------------VDS----------------------
Rafael----------Rio-------------Vidic---------Evra
-------Fletcher----------------------Scholes--------
Nani-----------------------------------------New Face
-------------Berbatov----------Benzema------------

If we get Benzema can we get him back to his pre Madrid level? If he can play to those levels it'll be a great signing.

I like That New Face guy

forlan short term would be a good shout if he can be brought in at a reasonable fee.

forlan-berbatov would make a very decent partnership and forlan actually wants to be here.

For those saying 'Benzema', do you think it's likely Fergie will want a player caught up in an under-age prostitute scandal after what happened with Rooney?

Joe Hart
Rafael Ferdinand Vidic Evra
Rodwell Sniejder
Nani Berbatov N'Zogbia
Hernandez

Trust me lads, we're sorted for the next few years. Ask for J.Hart in exchange for Shrek.. get Rodwell & Sniejder/any creative dare I say Jordan Henderson? for that matter of excellent quality and top it off with want away N'Zogbia.

N'Zogbia? why when weve got Valencia (whos ten times the player) would we buy him? just shift Nani to the left surely?

That isnt the greatest looking side in all honesty, and 4-4-2 is a graveyard for success in the modern game.

If you said to any United fan before Rome 2009 that in 18 months time wed have a front 4 of Nani/Hernandez/Nzogbia/Berbatov theyd have been on depression pills ever since.

I'd rather have Bale.. but seriously N'Zogbia is a quality left sided player, Nani has never really impressed me on that flank and we need more left footed players with pace in the current set up to replace Giggs when he is gone.

Its not 4-4-2.. its 4-2-3-1;), but obviously we'd mix and match like we do when it comes to lineups. Bottom line is we need 2 more midfielders in my opinion and a left sided player.

I mentioned Bale in the previous page. How much would tempt Spurs? Thats the problem - Probably 20M

He would be just what we are looking for though. Sems to have a bit of everything.

Also I mentioned Arteta - Perhaps 15M for him. Can we get 35M for Rooney? If so sorted

Thats imperative in my opinion, id actually be content if the club didn't go and buy a mega superstar striker if it meant we invested heavily in 2 high class central midfield players as thats where our biggest problem area is right now, any of the following id be happy with:

Sneijder
Pastore
Banega
Defour
Diarra
Rodwell
Hamsik
Schweinstiger
Modric (easy scholsey)

Any of that lot preferably 2 of them would be a massive bonus to us and give our midfield a far more respectable look to it, in my opinion we've already got 2 great wingers at the club, i wouldn't be agains signing another by any means with Giggs retiring soon and Park being impotent as an attacking force, my preference would be Alexis Sanchez......and of course we need to look for a new Keeper, all are a priority over a front man i think, goals this season have been flowing without Rooney anyway so its clear thats not a major issue, sorting out a very average looking midfield and replacing the old guard is imperative, in that sense the sale of Rooney for a decent fee may actually allow that to be achieved in a stronger manner.

20m for Bale?! They wont even open negotiations for anything under 30.

We already have Berbatov but any chance we'll go for Zlatan? If Milan don't sign him up next season, Barca are ready to let him go for around 24m Pounds which is pretty decent and Jose does love him.

Spurs surely won't sell you Bale for 20 million. You are a rival to them in the league... and more so than ever before. I'd say they'd want at least 30 million. It's not like they have any financial issues etc, and it's not like Bale would definitely want to leave. He does play CL football at Spurs after all.

Thing is past 3 years, we have been a very top heavy team... relying on quality forwards to make things out of nothing... seeing as we can't afford to buy a true world class forward at the moment, its a perfect oppurtunity to create a more well balanced unit and finally have a ball retaining, creative and energetic midfield who can supply the likes of Berba and Hernandez, who might not be Ronaldo/Rooney but are very capable finishers in their own right.

Got to say that Ninis kid impresses me. Scratch Hamsik off the list. Bastard signed his new contract with Napoli on my birthday. The fecker knew man, he did it just to hurt me.

Spurs wouldn't even pick the phone up over 20 million, 30 would probably be a starting point, hes a great player and still very young, youd probably have them demanding close to 40 million for him and we'll never pay that in a million years hence why i dont see him coming here anytime soon unless he throws a fit Rooney style and demands to leave, even then id imagine hed have other suitors.

Besides i dont believe splashing 30 million on Bale is a priority, as i say i think weve got 2 excellent wingers already at the club, we haven't got 1 excellent central midfielder, thats the area we need to start investing in because its an embaressment at the moment.

In my dream muppet world we will sign Schweinsteiger, Sneijder and Pato...

Fletcher - Schweinsteiger
Sneijder
Nani - - - - - - - - - - - - Pato
Berbatov

But in reality we will not.

Assuming Bale is a no go, do you think there are any real left footed alternatives ready to adapt to the Prem straight away in the market?

Just would like to know the alternatives.. I said N'Zogbia, but am struggling to think of any others.
