Replacing Casemiro

He's not experienced but neither was Baleba when Brighton got him from Lille. In fact, Brighton got him at 19 and wasn't a full time starter at Lille but he's come on in leaps and bounds in 2 years. I guess what I'm saying is that Amadou Kone can replace Case's role in the squad, which is as a bench player who can rotate with Ugarte. But the upside with him, is that I can see him developing at such a rate that in 2 years he becomes a starter in the first 11. I think him and Sekou Kone can play together or he could play with Mainoo.

However if the club have huge hopes for Sekou that he can come into the squad next season and they want to give him minutes, then we might not need Amadou Kone. I think it all depends on the plans for Sekou and the rate of his development. If they want to ease him in, perhaps give him a loan or two and take their time to build him up, then if we sell Case, I wouldn't hesitate to get Amadou Kone now.

Another young player I like is Ayyoub Bouaddi, althought he's not a Case replacement, more a replacement for Erikksen as a defensive playmaker.

Of the players you mentioned, I only know of Habib Diarra, who's not really a DM. He's even played as a winger, I think he's more a AM as he's got quite good attacking instincts. He's at Strasbourg so means Chelsea will poach him if he's any good.

I will look out for Mukau and Tessman.

I think Diarra is an allrounder but he seems the most developed of them all. At only 21 he looks ready to make the next step. It would be amazing if we can somehow get him despite Chelsea (they don't need more DM/CM do they? They're also planning to bring back Andrey Santos).

Sekou Koné should start getting some minutes next season for sure. Season after that, he should be pushing to be a regular starter. Obviously this is all dependent on him not getting a hamstring or thigh strain and subsequently missing 3 months of football, then another 3 months for good measure - which of course cannot be ruled out.

You are a lot more optimistic than me. For Casemiro, I think you are discounting his desire to stay in Manchester, where his family is settled. He is well within his rights to just pick up his salary and train for a year, if Amorim doesn't want to use him. Shaw will be 30 in the summer and will be coming off the back of two consecutive seasons with less than 20 appearances combined. Mount still has age on his side, which is good, but has a similar appearance record to Shaw over the last two season. They won't be hot prospects.

I can't see Amorim or the club's football logic being swayed by Casemiro's family being settled in. They will almost certainly try to get him and his salary off the books this summer. It would be bad business to simply keep him a 300k/week 33 year old bench player loitering around for a year.

They can try all they want, if Casemiro doesn't want to move there's nothing they can do

I suppose it depends on whether Casemiro wants to spend his final year in a miserable exile of training with the reservers. His utility as a 34 year old next season who has barely seen the light of day this year, won't be very much to Amorim or the club - especially with the likes of Collyer emerging as a solid player.

That's exactly what I think he will do, if he is not provided with chances to play. Pick up his massive salary, train like a professional and see out the year. The guy has a full trophy cabinet already, so why would he care about the chance to win the Saudi Pro League or get a few appearances for a midtable club in Spain?

Although I suspect he may have more pride than to allow his career go out with a wimper, when he could take a loan to Spain or elsewhere, and still collect his full wages.

His recent quotes about being happy were essentially him making it known that’s exactly what he will do. He’s not leaving unless he gets paid off, he’s not wanted by the Saudi clubs so it’s a move to MLS or Turkey. That’s going to mean Utd covering a lot of his wages and only receiving a small transfer or loan fee.

I expect he will leave but it won’t be a good deal financially for us.

He's at a point in his career where he can do a Bale if he's comfortable at Manchester United and there isn't an offer that would interest him. He's had a very succesful career already so it's up to him.

I don't think he would unless there's an issue. At 34, he simply wouldn't play much, which calls into question why United would squander a bench place for a player whose contributions are virtually non-existent, to the detriment of a younger CM who can actually contribute regularly.

Yes true, he does seem like the most developed of them all. Chelsea do have tons of CMs but when has that ever stopped them under these sporting directors. I also had a look at the Monaco DM, Soungoutou Magassa. 21 and quite experienced given his age. He has height and athleticism, one thing I also like about him is that he's also played as a LCB in Hutter's 343 so would add great utility value for us if we had a look at him.
