Repealing the new twitter thread rules and introducing new transfer tweets page

Ah yeah, they don't quite work anymore. You have to rightclick to open in new tab and even when you do it just takes you to the first page. Probably not an easy thing to fix though.
Yeah that's what happened for me. Not really big issue I guess, it's not too much effort to just open the thread and find the right post! :)

It is actually quite easy. Niall could make it in a few minutes.

You already have the post id in the quote link:
https://www.redcafe.net/threads/transfer-tweets-summer-2015-edition-discuss-to-your-hearts-content-all-bans-lifted.405098/reply?quote=17592975

So you just need to append it to this URL instead:
https://www.redcafe.net/posts/17592975

I have created a greasemonkey script that adds an extra link like this:

I still don't get it. What exactly is not working? The permalinks in the top right corner of each post?

Yes, it's another version of the permalink.

If you click the permalink you see the real link for embedding
Transfer Tweets - Summer 2015 Edition | Discuss to your hearts content, all bans lifted

If you right click and "open in new tab" you get
https://www.redcafe.net/threads/tra...content-all-bans-lifted.405098/#post-17592274
Which goes to the first page of the chat thread.

As Top said, if it was
https://www.redcafe.net/posts/17592274
that would be a direct link, so people can read the tweet and the chat that follows before replying.

At least I think that's what people are talking about. :D

Yep, that's the one. Basically what I was trying to do was view the Transfer Tweets page, scroll through the recent tweets, then click a link that takes me directly to that post in the discussion thread so I can read the replies (if any) to that post. At the moment there's nothing that does that, so I'd have to go back to the homepage, open the discussion thread, then manually search for the post (or use some tricks like messing around with the url as mentioned above, which would still be a little bit of a hassle).

I'd be interested in that greasemonkey script @Top, any chance you could share it?

I'll add the link below each post, straight forward to do.

Link to view a post in the twitter discussion thread added.

How do you access the kosher tweet thread from a mobile device??

Top bar, just below the RedCafe banner, if you don't see "Transfer Tweets" as an option do you see three horizontal stripes? (next to the Forums link maybe) - click on the stripes and it will show up as another link (as other missing tabs like Matchday do). Also, depending on screen size, if you turn your phone to horizontal it may just appear anyway.

Ok o got it. Thank you Sire

Great addition
Is it possible though that it takes you to the first unread tweet, rather than the most recent?

I had genuinely thought about this idea and figured it wouldn't be impossible to implement. And then, a few months later and without me having mentioned it to anyone, Niall suddenly rolls it out. Coincidence?

I'm using it even more than I expected. Considering making it my homepage...
