Repealing the new twitter thread rules and introducing new transfer tweets page

This is turning out to really good!

Do people get 2 posts added to their post count each time they post a tweet in the transfer thread then?

No, it's not a separate thread/posts, it's the same post just displayed in a different place.

Nifty. For the transfer muppets of the Caf of 9, 10 years ago, this must be like reaching the Promised Land. Now Manchester United have to sign Mahamadou Diarra, to fulfil the prophecy.

Good idea.
But for someone who isn't interested in looking at it at all, having a massive amount of alerts sticking out at the top of my page is a bit annoying. Is there a way it could be switched off in your profile settings or something maybe?

I was waiting to see who would be the first to ask for that. It's next on my to-do list.

Is it possible to make it "Go to first unread tweet" instead of going to the newest one?

This new transfer tweets tab at the top is getting me excited like I have Alerts, only to be disappointed.

@Niall

Seems like theres a slight bug.

The twitter about Clyne offer being increased keeps coming up as an alert.

Are you visiting the tweets page? The alert won't clear until you do.

No, quoted tweets don't show on the page.

He is trying to say that every time you quote a tweet then the tweet goes back to the top of the page. This has happened with the Clyne and Januzaj tweets.

As long as the twitter only section is regaularly updated, then I'm all for this update.

It is for the best clearly as the twitter discussion thread right now, I'd fecking hate it  So much chat. The Tweets only segment is my sanctuary.

Absolutely fantastic new feature, very impressed. RedCafe has to be one of the most progressive and innovative forums about.

Furthermore at least I won't accrue any more warning points for posting in the Tweets discussion thread :D

Great stuff.

In the twitter discussion thread I've quoted a post with a tweet from earlier in the day. It didn't get bumped to the top and there was no alert.

That was the problem right?

Looks ok now.

Another suggestion for this @Niall: next to the "Reply in Twitter discussion thread" could you add a "View in Twitter discussion thread" link? That way people can go look at other peoples' reactions without having to find the post in the thread/reply themselves. Love the feature so far, good stuff.

Alternatively make the post numbers link to the specific post: #1

Awesome feature. Great idea. Something like this was the only way the twitter thread was ever going to be kept neat and tidy.

I came here to make this complaint. Thanks for looking into this @Damien

I imagine that'd be a lot more work, since it currently pops up the share dialogue. I did try that at first though! :p
