Religion, what's the point?

Imagine being so beholden to a fairy tale as to scream down someone who is different than you.

If youre living a chill, non fanatic life when it comes into religion, theyre actually pretty good. More religions being accepted in your country means more national holidays.

I had this guy recommened to me in the religion thread, among a few,(not this bash religion thread), when I asked "who do you feel live and express the version of Islam you deem to be true?"

Interesting.

Also interesting that so many of them are still in a 'stop spreading Covid' mindset with all the masks being worn. Good on them.

I, being Muslim, remember going to a Jewish school in South Africa, a Christian country.

Triple the holidays!

Well he could done Islam a favour at least by saying something akin to "those muslim gangsters arent real muslims".

Despite the headline this isnt just the quran. And its not just burning of religious texts but incredibly undefined inappropriate treatment of religious objects even if it is your own property. Its goes for Islam, Christianity and Judaism. For some reason they left out Buddhism and Hinduism(which isnt very inclusive tbh)

Politicians selling out our freedom to criticize. And no i don't support burning religious books, but it's just fecking books. Slippery slope is what this is, but i guess its all worth it to stay good friends with the oil rich middle east. PUKESMILEY

Seems to me the thread title should actually be - ‘Religious fundamentalism, what’s the point?’

Its not just burning books its treating Abrahamic scripture and symbols inappropriately. If there was a century in Denmark a progressive wouldn't expect this to happen it would be the 21st. Its literally been 3 people burning Qur'ans and the terror attempts and threats and threats of cutting of trade from huge muslim nations that dont even have freedom of religion demanding this. In a historical context its obscene. So on that note i will be burning my Buddhist scriptures since they arent included in the law and streaming on YouTube and wait for all the terror threats to emerge.

It's ok. The ninja is going to take part in a pro hamas demonstration and she is going to be seen as a good and rational person fighting against oppression.

Fair to say your mask has entirely slipped.

What was my mask? I despise religion not for the ideas but for what it does to people, for how it affects real life. There are few examples of how toxic religion can be then what it does to women.

A woman can wear what she wants, full burka or enny weeny spotted bikini

What? I see the "custom" of having women dressed in black bags (and enforcing this and punishing if not) as one of the most misogynistic expressions of our time.

No see you see its super progressive and liberal that women cover up every part of her body in order for men to control their powerful and sexual impulses.
