Religion, what's the point?

So much pointless suffering because of religion...

It's so stupid to stay outside at 50 degrees Celsius! Only religion can make people do such stupid things.

More than 550 hajj pilgrims die in Mecca as temperatures exceed 50C

At least 320 of the dead are from Egypt and Saudi officials report treating more than 2,000 people for heat stress

That's a bit of a departure for the old Catholic Church. Although my late grandmother who was a devout Catholic used to say the same 30 years ago.
Yeah I don’t know what is going on with this
Pope. Earlier in the year he was talking about working Marxist.

He is going to talk himself out of the job!

Even though it was raised Catholic i dont practice anymore but this is more bad news potentially..the very conservative American Catholic branch has been looking to replace him with someone far more conservative for years now. Hopefully their influence isn't as big as it appeared for a while.
I remember seeing a lot of potential candidates to replace him are very right wing.

And yep it will be bad news for the future.

Or more likely because he's in his late 80s with half a lung missing and has been working very hard for many years, in pain and with one health crisis after another. We all have to die, even Popes and Kings.
Yes, he has suffered for some time but carried on working just as hard.

In the highest office of the Catholic Church, he holds a number of 'firsts'; the first Pope from the Society of Jesus (Jesuit Order), the first to take the name of Francis, the first Pope from the Americas/Southern hemisphere. With these and other thresholds he has crossed, both his life and his death will be important for the Catholic Church, now and for the future.
