Reece James

Best all around RB in the league. His delivery isn't quite as good as TAA's but is still excellent. Miles better defensively than Trent, though.

Chilwell has been fantastic, too. Feels weird going from fullback being our weakest position to arguably our strongest.

You can’t say he’s miles betterdefeinsively and only marginally worst attacking wise. For one he hadn’t come close to TAA attacking output, and for two neither has he been part of a defence as the one which TAA have been part of, people go on about his defending but he’s been part of the best defences in England for two years plus, he’s played against Neymar Sane Ronaldo etc and not look out of place, James hasn’t.

TAA defending is over analysed, the next couple seasons will see if James is on that level, but already at the highest level I’ve seen him have bad games against Bayern and Liverpool and Mane. He hasn’t been to a Cl quarter final, his a year younger than TAA but very much less experienced, lets see how he copes going into the season.

Brilliant young full back. Gonna be world class. Chelsea hit a jackpot there.
Sorry, but far too early to say. Last season he had some very bad games in him. I find it hard to attach a term like that after a few games this season. He needs to prove himself in the next 1-2 years.

And all the Trent comparisons are laughable. Trent‘s track record is far better.

I agree. Far too early to be making those kinda statements re James v TAA.

I was thinking of the players that came through a Chelsea.

Also Pulisic looks, talks and plays like a more mature player, i always forget he's still only 22.
Ah, that makes complete sense. Agree re: Pulisic, he’s been playing for our national team so long I could gave sworn he was 24-25

Deserves immense credit for this. Huge respect for him and Rashford - both really are tremendous role models already at very young ages and I don't think it's an exaggeration to suggest we might see a generation of young players for whom those two are an inspiration in the future.

Been on that bandwagon for a while. He is their best or at least most promising player. Superb physically, very mature player.

James is doing well but Pulisic is their best player and with the most potential. All depends on Pulisic staying fit.

I agree that it’s too easy to compare him to TAA in an attacking sense but his crosses are some of the best in the league hands down. If he continues at the rate he is going he could become a great all round player - a James Milner but actually useful.

Kante is still our best player and it's not particularly close.

Despite all the money spent, Chelsea still look short of the special player who can do the things to turn and win you the games against the best teams. A fit and in form Pulisic is the one who can do that!
You probably would have won the games against Spurs and Utd if you had him playing and firing.
Kante is an important player but not one who is going to make the difference in those big games.

Pulisic is obviously tremendous and yes, his absence has been keenly felt in some of the bigger games, but that's not the criteria for best player.

Also when it comes to breaking a stubborn defence down, our best player at that is Ziyech by some distance.

This is funny because Chelsea twitter does really get like that sometimes

Couldnt find a thread on him but hes been great this season really pleased with how hes kicked on. Still so young. Will be a top player if he keeps it up.
Watched him play for Wigan a lot couple of years back, he looked like a player who would make the step up with ease. Fantastic prospect this kid.

A one man team today.

He’s a wonderful RB to be honest. He often looks almost unbeatable physically and he has a very good technique and football brain too.

English players sometimes maybe tend to get overhyped, but I think both him and Trent have outrageous ability and they are actually underrated if anything.

James is more of a complete full back, where as Trent is average (not as bad as some people claim) at defending and incredible going forward. What impresses me most about both is how confident and brave they are, and how they don’t shy away from responsibility despite their young age. We have desperately lacked such players in our squad.

I've seen that in Brandon Williams for you lot (although admittedly I've not seen much of you this season). Perhaps I'm a bad judge.

Fantastic player and seems like a likeable person too!

Actually I agree - the problem for him has been he's been used intermittently on the left and right and it's not doing him any favours. I can't imagine being a young player trying to break and and being jerked around between flanks - at his age he needs to be learning to read the game and him having to constantly flip things in his head is not helping at all.

Brandon won't make it, as much as I'd love him to.

Wild idea, but we need rotation for TAA that actually can do the stuff TAA does. And if he's better then to effectively replace him. Could this be in Edward's thinking? He is a genius after all with the leverage of Klopp and PL/CL trophies behind him.

Who is Edwards and what the F are you even suggesting?

Thought he was incredibly lucky to stay on the pitch tonight. That step on the ankle was at least a yellow or potentially a red card but Moss had his normal shit game. But agree he looked incredibly good for his age.

Hes quality, pure quality didnt deserve to lose today

Should have been sent off, but also really good in attack.
Could deserve to get dropped for that or make him even more certain on to play.

I see what you mean, I liked his mentality last season. I don’t think he’s as bad as many here would make you believe. He’s badly out of form after being kept out first two months of the season. And being a right-footed left-back hasn’t probably been just helpful for his development. So I like Brandon, but technically and physically I doubt he will get even close to the level of James and TAA.
