Mitten regularly interviews Ole and Woodward for his magazines. Obviously he has much better sources than most of the English media. It's hilarious to see his credibility being questioned.

So the perfect guy to use to plant a story about interest in another winger playing in Bundasliga as we chase Sancho then....

Looks like the ITKs are doubling down on Sancho, Grealish, VDB, and a CB (likely Upamecano). One of Grealish or VDB if they go for Rice. Will see what happens and how the result tomorrow affects that.
If we got Grealish and van der Beek that would be fantastic but I just don't see it. To have both of those and Fernandes/Pogba there's going to be some serious competition for places. Yes there will be times where rotation is required but it's unlikely to be every match. We'd end up with some rather unhappy players.

So we would have Bruno Grealish and VdB fighting for the 10 role? And Pogba Fred and VdB fighting for the box to box role? Very unrealistic. I suppose that's why it's just muppeting

If Lingard, Mata and Andreas all leave the club, then bringing in Grealish, VDB and Sancho makes a world of sense.

I didn't know. But my point is, with the shortened season break and euro competition, holidays won't be as long. Players will be having shortened breaks and also deals could have been wrapped up before hand.
And my point is this deal won’t be concluded by the 28th of July which is what the ITK’s are saying which proves they’re full of shit

If it was wrapped up before hand, there's a fair chance we'd know.

It could be though. It could already be done. I'm not saying it is. But deal being done and announced at a later date or confirming medical etc isn't beyond belief. Again, it probably won't be but it doesn't mean it's automatically bullshit because deals get done in advance all the timein all sorts of businesses

How? By an ITK? Because the club and the player are not going to talk. It's just not beyond the realms of belief that contracts have been agreed and transfer fee and structure. Then maybe he has a short holiday and comes for medical and signing etc. I don't believe the 28th but I just don't think it's unbelievable that deals can be arranged while or before the player goes for holiday and announced (atleast in part) while they are away

For what it's worth, only one of the lower-ranked ITK has mentioned July 28th.

This. So it doesn't discredit anyone else who may have information. I don't know weither anyone truly has information but I believe it's possible.

By a journalist. Spokespersons of both would talk if it's wrapped up. We've already had credible enough journalists confirm that the personal terms are no problem and pretty much agreed. If a fee were agreed the news would be broken very quickly.

A lot of things aren't "beyond the realms of belief", that doesn't mean its remotely likely. It's a daft statement to say it's all going to be done by 28th, and pretty much a reflection of the nonsense that is "reddit ITK" muppets along with the saps that believe them.

Yeah, so does this just slide then?

Theres nothing to slide. In the second tweet they clarify that the PLANE was going to London not that Sancho was definitely on it, and the photographer who posted the photo has been posting from London since, so the info was correct.

So covered their own asses. Much better. Their info is basically a pic from social media and his posts.. Its nothing info.

Most of the contempt/vitriol is coming from people who remember the reddit ITK hoopla from De Ligt last year.

Like @sport2793 has posted, the current iteration is markedly different, which would follow if they really banned every single liar and only kept the ITKs who'd provided info that turned out to be true.

LIke you covered in one of your earlier posts, people in any line of work are going to pick up tidbits of info that the corresponding Andy Mittens of their field don't get exposed to. Especially before anything is concrete.

Journalists close to the club seem to only know what the club's let them know. They are tools for negotiation/marketing and fan relations.

Apparently only one ITK is saying 28th and if that is true that doesn't discredit anyone else. There will always be nonsense and bandwagon jumpers but that doesn't mean they are all that type.

I personally take it with a pinch of salt but I believe there is a chance that someone has creditable information and that the bullshitters don't discredit that.

Pinch of salt? More like a bucket. There is literally no substantial piece of information currently in that thread that suggests they know anything at all whatsoever.

Everything they say is a pile of wank. Anything they put their hat on tends to either be obvious or false.

Exactly. An example is if you are in United's marketing team and receive a brief on an announcement package for a player and you are a fan. That excitement, knowing what is happening. You will spill to friends or family. Now with the anonymous setting of a place like Reddit. You can expect someone would give up information. Even if it's just through excitement.

I don't know if any of them are legit but I am not willing to discredit someone because some people are talking rubbish about the same thing. That goes for all subjects.

You can think that. It's fine but you do not know it. Just like you say they don't know anything. You don't know for sure that one of them doesn't have a genuine link.

What sort of a statement is this? They have a track record of saying any combination off the back of journalist articles and then get most of them wrong.

If I say every combination of sancho coming, from 28th July, to early August, to September, I've pretty much covered my back. That's the shit they're doing. They don't have a link, they're just saying every random shit they can think of.

They have no genuine links and I know because I am Ed Woodward.

You can think I’m not Ed Woodward, it’s fine. But you do not know it.

As opposed to the higher ranked obvious lairs?

Yeah they really should get better at lying. If they keep getting things right before anyone else and the reddit thread gains notoriety, there'll be a crackdown and a molehunt for them in their respective workplaces.

Seems to me like all the ITK talk seems to be around players the mainstream media has already identified as United having an interest in.
Not a single one of them managed to spot that kid from Barcelona leaving to join United. Funny that isn’t it?

Some of their claims are really comical:

e.g.
listing Emre Can as a transfer target when he had just signed for Dortmund
"(Thomas Muller) - Not being re-signed by Bayern"
Rakitic having offers from Schalke
"Schalke and Leverkusen considering Zaha move"
though I think my favourite was Freiburg showing interest in Danny Ings.

If Lingard, Mata and Andreas all leave the club, then bringing in Grealish, VDB and Sancho makes a world of sense.

Feel like two of them might leave but not all three. My gut feeling is we only get Grealish & Sancho in the end.

Expect the bullshit to increase massively in the confidence we’ve secured Champions League. Even though it’s irrelevant.

From Muppetiers transfer table:
yXq3qFk.png

One of vdD/Grealish = 70%
Only Grealish = 50%
Only VdB = 50%

Not sure if dodgy numbers, or i'm an idiot, or both. But I'm liking the confidence since they put 95% for Sancho transfer

Mitten regularly interviews Ole and Woodward for his magazines. Obviously he has much better sources than most of the English media. It's hilarious to see his credibility being questioned.
To be fair to Mitten, he recently said that he spoke to Hererra around that time and that was his source, he said that he's almost certain Hererra didn't have any idea how much money his agent was asking from United which is why he was confident he wasn't going to PSG. Obviously the bloke close to his agent knew more than the bloke himself.

He's also said he get's told transfer news all the time from solid sources but a lot of them don't come off so he just doesn't bother reporting them anymore as it's not worth the grief when they don't. You can't really question his sources, it's the reliability of the information he's received that should be questioned.

He wouldn't be my first port of call for transfer related news about United. Inside scoops, yes, transfers, no.
Mitten said at the time that Herrera having agreed to join PSG was untrue because he had spoken to people close to Herrera which completely contradicted RMC and their journo Bouhafsi. Bouhafsi was proved correct and ever since I don't take Mitten seriously.
I think this is a perfect example of how it's almost impossible to be correct or "ITK" about anything unless you're the agent or the DOF themselves.

Things can change so quickly and you rely on peoples word. For all we know Herrera didn't want to admit to Mitten he was going to leave so just told him he's likely to stay to save face.

Clearly Mitten is very well sourced at the club, knows loads of old players and the staff on personal names so he's better positioned than most at United, but even he got that spectacularly wrong.

Of course United have probably looked at alternatives to Sancho, Ole himself admitted we have a shortlist of players to work on, it probably goes something like 1. Sancho. 2. Coman. 3 Dembele etc...

People hear different things and sometimes it's purposeful leaks, but we won't really know.

I find the people who get worked up by this stuff so funny. It has little to no effect on your life, especially if you choose for it to not to. Yet we have grown men having a go at other grown men over something generally harmless.

People believe in religion too you know guys, sometimes faith trumps any sort of logic :wenger:
