Redcafe's Top Ten Manchester United players of all time

I figure this would be something fun that we could all do. I have a few weeks off work soon for a medical related issue and am going to be tucked up in bed all day (so you all get more of my posts!) and I figure we can make some kind of list of the best players at Manchester United ever.

I think I've even tried something like this before but I ended up struggling due to real life.

Basically you list your personal top ten United players of all time. It could be the players who are the best, it could be the players who are your favourite, it could be the players who mean the most to you because of some bizarre reason that no-one else will understand.

But we'll do it so Number 1 gets 10 points. Number 2 gets 9 points etc etc. This means that we can get some kind of consensus on Redcafe's top player ever. In two weeks I will compile a list that looks at this and do a write up of sorts.

So this is mine (It seems to change every day)

I just went with the players who I have seen live over the course of my lifetime. I couldn't justify putting in players who I have only seen clips of.

By the time it comes to do the accumulating I probably will have edited him lower, but watching the 08 season review last night made me remember how awesome he was. Remember meeting him in Manchester and him being a really nice down to Earth guy as well.

Pick one! I did the latter because otherwise I think I'd be leaving out the players who have given me the most joy, but there's certainly something to be said for including the legends.

Then I pick the one from 1996 and onwards.
 
Wouldn't it be better if you clarify whether it's supposed to be favourite or best? Otherwise you'll get some people doing one way and others the other. I have done favourite - so I have left off Ronaldo - if I did best then he'd be first or second.
 
Best players of all time I will define as most capable of walking into any team...

1 Duncan Edwards
2 George Best
3 Bobby Charlton
4 Schmikes
5 Ronaldo

These first five could be argued among the best XI of all time not just United but the world. They might not make that standard, but they are easily in the conversation and are truly the best players we ever had imo.

Maybe I could have picked one or the other and it's something I might do again at some point, but I figure for now it'd be cool to see a really eclectic list of world class and favourites.
