Music RedCafe's Favourite Albums Of All Time Contest (THE RESULTS)

Never heard Is This It? Surprising. Never heard Disintegration? Slightly shocked. Never heard Never Mind the Bollocks? Incredible! How is this possible?

I ain't wasting my time if the singles don't hit. Give me the name of their best non-single tracks from the albums on this list and I'll give them a shot.
I'm surprised your didn't like Aerodynamic, that's one of my favourite songs of all time.

Try these:

Discovery:
Something About Us
Verdis Quo

Random Access Memories:
Instant Crush
Give Life Back to Music

Something About Us - not a fan
Verdis Quo - reminds me of an advert

Instant Crush - ironically features Julian Casablancas (lead singer of The Strokes) - decent
Give Life Back to Music - don't like this one

They're just not for me, I don't think. It sounds (to me) like dance music for people that don't like really like actual dance/club music - too safe, too funky. But their production is top notch.

Ah yeah maybe just not your thing, thanks for giving it a go though!

To think that I thought I didn't know the Strokes yet they're mentioned in one of my favourite albums (TBH&C) and feature in one of my favourite songs (Instant Crush).

I might give them a go.

This tied with Never Mind the Bollocks but was on more lists. One more trash Beatles albums to go...

Love Discovery, and it came out when I was 17 so holds a special place in my heart as part of my youth and when I first started going out to clubs etc.

However, normally it would probably not even get in my top 10, but the final list is pretty alien to my musical tastes so it tops my list here.

You should probably listen to RAM in full as it flows much better as an album as opposed to single tracks.

Add Voyager and Face to Face to this. Outside of the incredible first four tracks.

Apart from one track (that superhero one) I like them all but didn't want to overwhelm and he didn't want singles so that narrowed things down.

How you feeling about good kid m.A.A.d city placing much lower than Hybrid Theory?

objectively wrong but it’s just a silly contest about favourites so all good!

This iteration of this is far more civil than Games/Movies/TV Shows, which had people getting really pissed. It's refreshing.

Top 25 coming up soon.

Starting the top 25 with a bang.

To be honest, I actually think I prefer Meteora now vs. Hybrid Theory but I can't deny that I sunk so many hours into this album at time of release that I messed up the disc and had to buy it again. This also was a gateway from growing up on only pop/hiphop/rnb to exploring rock/indie rock etc. Don't think I'd have gotten into Arctics or Sleep Token had I not listened to this.

Love it!

(also nice to see it above that garbage Abbey Road/Sgt. Pepper)

Also, HT was one of the albums on the fewest amount of lists but 3/4 of its voters had it at number 1, hence the placement above so many others.

Just listening to The Strokes, Is This It and I told a lie... I did know of (and really like) the song Last Night. I just didn't know who sang it.

Never heard this one either.

That's it for now, will post top 20 from boxing day.

Have a great xmas y'all.

I don't understand how people don't like Daft Punk. Every time I hear one of their songs, I can't press stop and just start bopping along. I get everyone has their own taste, me more so than most (in a bad way) but I always thought Daft Punk were universally loved.

It’s possible to not like them, I suppose, but never thought I’d hear them called boring.
