Feck sakes. Just not Ronnie’s day:(

What a letdown of a final, not been a classic tournament overall in fairness but I was really expecting a good match between these two. Great week for Trump overall though to be fair, be interesting to see how he backs this up over the next few months. Especially when they get to the Crucible, not sure this week tells us much about how he'll fare against some journeyman in round one there.

Kyren Wilson wins the German Masters, beating David Gilbert 9-7 in the final.

No Ronnie or Mark Allen in the tournament but still quite a strong field and a great final.

O' Sullivan out of the World Grand Prix beaten by Marco Fu, first time in nearly ten years. On all this week ITV4.

Neil Robertson & Mark Williams also out in the first round. Brutal draw for Ronnie first up against a long time established top 16 (or thereabouts) player.

Grand Prix last 16 draw:

Allen v Carter
Ding v Gilbert
Guodong 4-1 Davis
Maguire 2-4 Sijun
Selby v Saengkham
Ford 2-4 Trump
Wilson v Bingham
Hawkins 4-1 Fu

Some good matches still to be played there, can see the remaining 4 going close. Also looking ahead to the QF's, possibly Allen v Ding and Selby v Trump.

Ding thrashed by Gilbert too although this isn't as big a shock as it would have been 5 years ago as Gilbert is having a good run over the last 18 months or so and got to the final in Germany last week.

Judd Trump wins the Grand Prix, beating Ali Carter 10-6 in the final.

He’s a man bang in form with only a couple of months to the World’s.

How's the Welsh Open already started  The scheduling is nuts.

True enough, I guess. It's great to be able to watch it pretty much whenever you fancy it nowadays.

Barry has crammed the schedule so full that virtually all tournaments run back to back with each other! Fortunately Cheltenham to Cardiff is one of the easier ones, although I'm still surprised Trump plays today, Carter has the day off.

Some harsh first round draws for some of the top players including Selby v McGill and Hawkins v Akani.

Look out for Allen v Joyce tonight as they really do not like each other! Allen said in an interview once even Joyce's own mother doesn't like him!

'Moving Day' as they call it at the Home Nations events, at the Welsh Open today. Last 32 played this morning/ afternoon and the last 16 this evening.

Higgins v Steadman
Lisowski v Craigie
Perry v Ding
J. Jones v O'Connor
D. Jones v R. Williams
Bingham v O'Donnell
J. Robertson v Zhao
Ursenbacher v O'Sullivan
Selby v Saengkham
Kleckers v Vafei
Donaldson v Cahill
Burns v Allen
Hawkins v Georgiou
N. Robertson v P. Davison
Dunn v Maflin
Slessor v Zhang

Quarter finals today in Cardiff, there could yet be a real underdog in the Final although Neil Robertson is playing well and should come through the bottom half of the draw. This is where the experience of winning ranking events and consistently playing on the TV table really comes to the fore.

Vafei knocked out Selby and O'Connor beat Ding so these guys can play.

John Higgins v Joe O'Connor
Stuart Bingham v Zhao Xintong
Hossein Vafei v Scott Donaldson
Neil Robertson v Kurt Maflin

Joe O’Connor’s Barnet is all sorts of terrible.

It’s like he’s taken a picture of every teenage dickhead social media influcer into the barbers and said “the worst of all of these cnuts and then make it even puffier”.

Shoot-out in 5 or so minutes.

Embarrassing turnout of Top 16 players though, almost noone showed up. Bazza is screaming somewhere probably.

As much as I love snooker it's a farce that this is a ranking event. One single frame, with fouls resulting in ball-in-hand and a shot clock that gets reduced halfway through?!

It definitely has its place in the calendar but crazy to think Judd Trump didn't get any ranking points for winning the Masters, part of the triple crown but an invitational event, yet the winner of this gets 32,000.

Having said that I'm glad Georgiou is through his first match, he was a well deserved winner last year and always comes across as a nice and humble guy in his interviews.

This has just absolutely blown my mind

That is incredible!!

I genuinely cannot get over it. Massive props for the weight loss but he has aged 20 years with it.

I just can’t imagine that frail old man thundering round the table with the pomposity and fire of the real Drago.

Wins for O'Sullivan and Allen last night as the Players Championship kicked off in Preston.

What a surprise though to see Ronnie make it all about him in the post-match interview, carrying on his bizarre recent behaviour of pretending to be Australian. Apparently he thinks the Aussies value their hero sportsmen & women more?

What a load of rubbish. Firstly he is widely acknowledged as one of, if not the greatest of all time. Secondly he keeps doing and saying stupid things throughout his career so there is a lot of sports loving people who just look at him and think 'idiot'.

He certainly doesn't help himself, and this latest cry for attention is typical Ronnie. I thought Max Rushden made a good point on Talksport which was how is the interviewer supposed to carry on asking serious snooker questions when Ronnie is acting like a child?

In terms of the snooker itself, Neil Robertson v Joe Perry and Mark Williams v Ali Carter this afternoon, followed by an evening session of Kyren Wilson v Jack Lisowski and Judd Trump v Jimmy Robertson. All on ITV4 for anyone who's not caught any of it yet :).

Thank feck Allen won 6-4 as I called it 6-5 to him but didn't back it! Would not have been a happy bunny....

Ronnie currently favourite to beat Higgins although Higgins is at the table looking to bring it back to 4-5.

Robertson v Trump should be a cracker tonight, 2 players bang in form.

On a broader note a lot of players seem to be hitting form at the right time i.e. a few weeks to the Crucible. I think it could be one of the most open tournaments for a few years.

Went to Nandos after the first session, saw Mark Allen in there. 5 minutes after be left Trump walked in .

Surprised he is there at this time considering he plays at 7.

@Pexbo I'm at the Ronnie game so look for me on TV

How was it?! I’ve been playing all evening so haven’t had a chance to see it. Have you watched the reply yet? Is your beautiful face on it?

It was good! Thought Robertson v Trump was the better game!

And yeah I've had a whizz through the game but couldn't see myself:lol:

I went to Preston last year when the Grand Prix was there, it’s a decent venue for snooker but you have to be front 3/4 rows to have a chance of seeing yourself!

This tournament is just warming up nicely!

A thousand centuries and another title. Never looked in doubt this week.

1000 centuries is mental, I can't even imagine getting 1000 10's personally
