Ronnie O'Sullivan 'ready to go' with breakaway snooker tour

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/snooker/46419267

So totally and utterly bored of Ronnie O'Sullivan now, in a way I hope he does bugger off and set up a new tour so people can start to enjoy snooker without one of the leading players constantly picking needless fights with the Chairman.

I also find it staggering he's actually come out and said he would invite the 2 Chinese players, more or less condoning cheating in a sport which has handsomely rewarded him over the last 25 years.

I'm off to the Barbican on Wednesday and if he's playing it's fair to say I'll be supporting the opponent :).

He’s just explaining himself on BBC now and I think there’s a bit of sense in there. He seems very sensitive. I think he’s having trouble articulating exactly how he’s feeling about it and is getting a bit flustered.

It’s more a case of refining the schedule and pointing system to avoid burn out.

They came to an agreement that average from 10 best tournament finishes would be a fairer pointing system which would allow the best players to manage their game better and aviod burn out.

No way Hearn would agree to that though as it would mean the best players play in the more prestigious tournaments and then carefully aviod each other in the lesser tournaments. Hearn obviously wants every top player in the mix at every single tournament which is why some of them are struggling.

If I’d had to have retaken a snooker that many times I’d have had a total meltdown

When Alex Higgins gave snooker its greatest comeback story:
The early exchanges of the final suggested the Higgins juggernaut was coming to a juddering halt. In what looked like becoming a huge anti-climax, Davis flew out of the traps and took all seven frames in the first session on the Saturday. With sponsors Coral quoting odds of 16/1 for Higgins to win the best-of-31 final, the Hurricane was in need of inspiration...

Ronnie is more important to snooker than Hearn, who is there to make money. He is like a problematic kid, but he makes some good points. harsh to just brush him off as a diva.

Snooker’s mad sometimes, they’ve not potted a ball for half an hour

I'm just hoping for a 6-5 & then a really tight game versus Ronnie tomorrow. I want the snooker to keep me entertained as late as possible before the cricket :D

These last few frames from Allen have been quality. Top mentality.

That red on his second visit to the table, when it was right by the green... Ludicrous shot from that position. Game deserves a decider.

Ah well. Hope the final will be as closely contested as this! Now begins the wait for the cricket...

Does anyone like Bingham?

I think he’s a bit misunderstood. He’s got a bit of a personality and he’s happy to send himself up. He also doesn’t think twice about giving a bit of stick to Twitter trolls which can make him look a bit petty I guess but I think he’s probably a very normal guy if you met him and a good example of the effect no PR training can have.

Probably, but do you know when you just don't like someone?

@Mrs Smoker yeah I know that! I was deliberately being funny as I don't like Bingham.

I can't see Ronnie losing from this position, but here's hoping Allen makes a match of it.

Allen would have to play a hell of a lot better than in the first session to have any sort of chance, and Ronnie's level would have to drop a bit. Big ask.
