Redcafe Snooker

I'm watching King vs Dunham, and it's literally one of the worst games I've ever seen in my life.

Higgins comes from 5-1 down to level the game at 5-5 vs Trump. Decider ahead on Eurosport if anyone is interested.

I know everyone's watching the match (I have it on as well), but Liang vs Ronnie is in a final frame decider right now

Looking forward to watching some Snooker this evening. Need something to settle down after yesterday's disappointment.

Really hope Allen can knock the chubby cheat out.

Edit: Holy bugger that black

 No idea, Allen's always been an arsehole so he was probably doing it out of ego, whereas Higgins, despite being a cheat, isn't usually an arse at the table and was probably just doing it for a laugh.

Has Higgins bet on himself to lose again? These misses :D

Can honestly say that I'd rather watch a safety battle than a 147. Find it fascinating watching two players try and out-do each other through safetys! Was a great game earlier, looking forward to the next one.

I'm of the same opinion, hence Selby is my favourite player. Been some good quality snooker so far in this year's Masters. Trump vs. Fu should be very interesting later today.

I always find it a bit cringey when players like Allen do cocky things like that.

Around their local clubs and growing up they'll have obviously been super talented and exciting to watch so they could be forgiven for having a bit of swagger about them but when they get to where they are now they should realise their snooker is about as sexy as Theresa May and they should wind their neck in a bit and realise that sort of peacocking should be reserved for players who actually get the crowd rev'd like Ronnie and Trump. Tony Drago would be rolling in his grave (if he was dead) at that sort of display from a boring gob shite like Allen.

What do we make of Andy Goldstein as a presenter on Eurosport out of curiosity?

I think he's good, genuine interest in snooker, seems to get on well with the players etc. but is he known to be quite bad?

He was back on talkSPORT after the Scottish tournament and someone rang in and was like 'Andy just on your presenting on Eurosport last week' and Goldstein was like 'Yeah yeah I know I know' sounding slightly embarrassed and the caller was like 'No I thought you were good!' and Andy was like 'Here comes the punchline..'. Just a weird moment, got me wondering.

If Judd has a decent run there's no way we're making it through this tournament without one of us making a post we thought was going in a very different thread.

What a performance by Marco Fu. He has, at the age of 39, somehow managed to re-establish himself as a serious contender.

I like the Eurosport coverage in general, not just Andy Goldstein. There's a good camaraderie between him, Jimmy White, Neil Foulds and Ronnie when he's in the studio. And anyone else they draft in too. It's much better than the BBC, not that I have a particular problem with it, it's just been roughly the same people doing roughly the same thing since I was a kid. When the snooker is on both channels, I much prefer to watch Eurosport. Goldstein himself is a great anchorman IMO.

Allen's an underachiever, he hasn't won anything of real note yet. Biggest bloody moaner on the circuit as well.

My favourite Mark Allen moment, glorious (skip to 9:46):

I've got money on Selby to win the tournament so not surprising to see him struggling.

It's a real pity that Williams doesn't quite have the game to win tournaments any longer, still one of my favourite players to watch when he gets going.

Incredible kick on that blue. Unlucky for Williams but even so, fantastic clearance from Selby to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

 Here's hoping Fu can continue his good form & take him out tonight.

What was the Williams Selby score in the end.. missed it

Trump/Selby/Allen all out :D Wahhey! Nicely done, Barry.

Ronnie - Fu is one of the best games I've watched in ages  Fu is playing unbelievable, seems he has a lot more confidence than ever before.

That difficult red he took when 50~ points behind in the 8th frame is likely to cost him this match :( I understand why he went for it then, but if he'd cleared the rest & then missed that shot, it could be a whole different story right now.

"How do you play with a new tip?"
"Because I'm good, John"

Didn't realise the Caf had a snooker thread:)
Fantastic semi between Ronnie and Marco:drool:

Can't wait for the 2nd semi. Gonna go with Hawkins

Hawkins hasn't started well.

Noticed the crowd are a bit wankerish at the tourney this year, feels like the ref needs to tell them to behave just about every frame.
