Redcafe Snooker

Oh god, now we have 'fingergate'.

I can not stand Mark Selby or the need to show his fecking wife every opportunity. He is one hell of a snooker player though and seems to be heading in to his third final.

Brilliant game so far.

Selby seems like a nice guy.

Such a bullshit way to lose a snooker match. I hope ding wins tomorrow, he has been overal the best player this tournament.

Yeah, Selby's been resilient and consistent but doesn't feel like he's quite hit his best yet. Hope Ding wins his first.

The hate is strong in this one. Selby battled like a trooper. Fu played well, but his cheating doesn't sit well. I don't love Selby but he is a hell of a player. Some great long pots combined with the safety.

What was the cheating? I was out this evening and didn't think I'd be missing much. That afternoon session they had was awful.

Fu knocked his finger on a red and didn't fess up. Selby won that frame anyway, but in the interval you could tell that Hendry and Davis where unimpressed. Hendry half-heartedly suggested he didn't notice due to adrenaline. Storm in a teacup ultimately.

Selby is good at getting results, but he is one hell of a boring player IMO. Too slow around the table, tends to get up and down on a shot often, rather than just knowing the balls and table and getting on with it. Chalks his cue far too often between shots and slows others down.

Can't fault his match play at all, he is a battler and would be a touch opponent for anyone in world snooker. You don't get to number 1 on luck.

I hope for a competitive final, hopefully Ding can hold himself together if he goes several frames behind.

Im going Ding by 4 frames. 19-15.

Dings 5 centuries away from beating Hendry's record at the crucible.

Then again he is playing Selby so probably won't even get 2 all game.

Fu managed 5 against Selby, it's doable.

Ding is a better break builder than Fu also.
Selby will go full on dogshit mode in the final though. Make it as scrappy and boring as possible to tear away at Dings soul.

Ah OK. Not sure I can stand another session like that morning one yesterday, cmon Ding!

Mark Selby doing what he does best. Ruining another final.

The BBC focussing on up and coming young refs by showing the same, attractive woman seven or eight different times in 30s. They showed one or two other refs, out of a group of 20 or 30.

But yeah, the BBC has totally changed.

Ding just hasn't settled yet, he has been the stand out player this tournament but just hasn't got going yet. Mark being typically consistent whether you like to watch his type of not (which I don't, personally think he is boring as feck).

Scraping frames together and boring the shit out of everybody.

He is lucky as shit with the way the balls fall too.
He's just an excellent player. I'm no fan of his style, but you have to give him credit. It's up to Ding to make this final interesting. Unfortunately he's a train wreck at the moment.

Yeah, that's not happening today. He scores heavily and playing excellent safety shots.

As for boringness, well, that's probably true for some, definitely not for me.

I'm not denying his ability. Just his method of doing things. Bores me to death.

They really have to put a stop to this players walking out after every frame. I know the majority do it but Mark Selby does it far to often, can't stand the way he plays the game

Saw something about the pockets being bigger than normal on the BBC page. Should be easily doable, if that's the case.

Ding bringing it back to 7-4, game on now fortunately.

I still think Selby will grind him down and win it by 2 or 3 but if Ding can win the second half of this session then we could have a cracking Monday of it.

Probably...Selby is ridiculously resilient and persistent in all fairness to him. I think it'll be quite close though.

The thing with Selby is he can win frames playing badly, or at least hold on to minimize the damage over a session. That's what got him the win against Ronnie a couple of years ago (that and very good snooker of course) and I wouldn't be suprised if he repeats it here.

Selby is slower than an actual, physical snail would be in an LVG United team.
