Redcafe Snooker

Those 4 frames went so fast. I'm going to miss the evening session as I'm going out but just hope neither of them run away with it too soon.

I forgot about that weird wonky teeth celebration he did. Cancelled

I like this interview, both these guys seem decent. Jack missing those shots before this was great TV

Though Trump just said Ronnie-esque comments about snooker so no doubt the hate train will show up...no?

Davis looks like he's being woken up to comment every time.

That "they can't" (about playing in their 60's) whilst stone faced was brilliant

That was very much an “I couldn’t so they won’t be able to either“. Players eyesights wont degrade like they used to with Laser technology at their disposal. Ronnie in particular keeps himself in great shape with his running, although looking at Williams and Higgins that isn’t the secret.

Must be so demoralising being against Ronnie when he's in this sort of form. Granted, Judd isn't playing brilliant but Ronnie's all round play is relentless.

It was interesting listening to them all talking about the cloth/tables and how some shots weren't available to them years ago.

Not that I think players will be competitive into their 60's, but definitely the game has changed and so have the players. Davis-Hendry-Ronnie all moved it forward, I guess we still have to wait for the next one to move it on a while yet at this rate!

He was doing "the Ronnie" talk all pre and during the tournament, he does seem burned out. I fully expect him to get out of this session and regroup for later though. His shot selection is still a cut above and he won't miss forever.

But yeah, Ronnie is on it, ridiculous just how far ahead he is when on this form. Perhaps it's a good thing in a way all his whining and disinterest at times, as it let's us still see this. Maybe a break or being more picky about tourneys is what will do Trump the world of good and let us watch him for years yet too.

It’s a fair point about the tables. My old stomping ground used to have a table which was from the 50s and had big pockets but a poor bed and cushions. It then used to have the hand me down cloth from the match table.

The match table was new in the early 00s and had a beautiful bed and cushions and much tighter pockets.

Despite the difference in pocket width and cut, I had my biggest breaks on the match table because it was so much more predictable and you could do so much more with the cue ball.

Looking like we might have a bit of a competition here.

I thought Higgins was looking a bit lighter?

Who was that lad in an early round whose stomach was so big, he had some sort of special waistcoat, almost a smock.

Looked more like an 80s darts player.

This ref seems a bit of a dick. People will be quick to blame Ronnie, but both times Judd has backed him up.

I think he felt Ronnie undermined him with the scenario earlier in the session and is trying to reassert his authority.

It’s daft, you’ve got two incredibly gifted, mercurial players who are playing some incredible snooker in the world championship final. It’s not about you. Just wind your neck in and let them spar.

Missed that too, what happened?

What was that about?

No idea but the referee said he saw something and Ronnie said something along the lines of "Tell me what you saw. Go look at the camera and tell me what you saw, you saw nothing. Don't start". And in Ronnie's defence I looked at the camera and saw nothing.

Only thinking it could have been a hand or other gesture he took exception to. I didn't see anything. Only thing is that session is over had it continued would it have festered? Judd did say if you had an issue why not adress it after not at that pivotal point in the frame and seconds before he was settling to take a frame deciding pot.

Watched the football rather than the opening session, but pretty odd to hear the ref has been the centre of attention. Rare that they have much chance to make arses of themselves in the snooker.

Missing the whole thing, so disappointed.

I won't be in a position to watch until tomorrow afternoon, would it be finishing up around evening time tomorrow or will I have missed it?

I often only watch from 7pm on the Monday. As long as you catch that final session then you're seeing plenty providing it's a decent match. If it's so one sided there isn't much of a final session I don't feel I've missed out much anyway, really.
