Redcafe Rocket League Gold Cup | "PC & PS4 Players, Sign up now!"

Best way is to probably try garnering support for a games subforum where newbies can also post: https://www.redcafe.net/threads/games-sub-forum.416967/ (see last few posts or so)
Yeah, like that will ever happen.

Even though these gaming competition threads like those of FIFA and Rocket League do get quite a bit of activity, this is probably the first time where a gaming tournament didn't get dragged out. FIFA tournaments always got dragged out, and the first Rocket League tournament never even ended. @rcoobc did an amazing job to set up a format where the tournament can get done quickly. Let's continue on with this and hope that more gamers visit the Rocket League competition threads. Maybe a few of these successful, quick tournaments can convince Niall to give us a bit more support, I hope. :nervous:

Redcafe Rocket League Gold Cup - Semi Final B (will finish the write up shortly)

2 AM Start perfect timing for Razvan

Amazing matches produce shock and upsets in Group B - Revenge shows the quality of the group.

Going into this match, some had called this the weaker group. Players from this group had won just 12 matches between them, compared to the 18 matches from players in Group A. Here they also knew each other well; Mazhar13 and Big-Red had played each other in Round 1, whilst EireLemon and Razvan had played each other in Round 2. In those groups, Mazhar13 and EireLemon had finished top, but they should not expect an easy ride today.

It was Gold Cup Semi Final day.

Fans with bright scarves of gold, blue and red sung nervously in the stands. The players waited in the slips, talking to their coaches and managers. For these players, a win would put them into at least history and possibly further glory. A loss would resign them to the also-rans. As kickoff approached, they would quietly psyche themselves up, quite unlike anything you see in the adverts for certain headphones.

Fate would draw players together that knew each other well. A last minute win had put Big-Red through alongside Mahzar when the groups met in the first match. Razvan would go through in third place thanks to a over-time goal when he played EireLemon in Round 2.. but none of that mattered now.

Man... @mazhar13 that was painful to watch. So many half chances. I'm sure if you had been the player staying back and let your team mate cause the mayhem you'd have gone through. Very unlucky to both you and EireLemon.

The other group said that the only day they could play was Wednesday night (this week), but then it didnt happen on Wednesday, so I'm guessing they will re-convene on Sunday/Monday

Actually we didn't hear from @DatIrishFella at all, so hopefully he's around

@RedMist99, @Shamwow, @Slops

It's going to be a close group

What's going on here? It's been quiet for the past few days. Has there been any plan to complete the Group 3-A matches?

I'll ask. I've been busy for the last few days (wedding!) so haven't been doing much. Not even finished the write up of the last one, not that it matters!

Guys, I've just been contacted by someone claiming to be from Yorkie, offering to sponsor this tournament and the next.

It's not for much money, but it would require everyone to submit to drug tests... If i send them in the mail, would that be okay @Shamwow

Sure, how much of the drugs do I have to send you to be tested?

Edit: Or are you sending us the drugs to test? Cos that's definitely fine.

Final hype!!!

Hit me up when you guys will be about to start the final group. I'll let you know if @Blatzo and I can join in and do the colour commentary.

You should litter the colour commentary with quotes from Die Hard

"OHHHHHH! oh my God, And the quarterback is TOAST"

"Who's driving this car, Stevie Wonder??"

"Oh, you're in charge? Well, I got some bad news for you *insert player name*, from up here it doesn't look like you're in charge of jack shit!"

Shamwow strong favorite for caf title

Just give him the title now

Big-Red has gone through in second place with 6 points three times.

Shamwow has won every match he's played, whilst the other three finalists have all averaged one loss per round

The final:

Starts around 3 mins 50

I can't believe how close that was. I mean, I can believe it, but it was still so exciting to watch.

If overtime losses got 0 points, Razvan would have been the winner.

Slops dominated the final match.
