Redcafe Future Stars

Mustafa Amini is a 17 year old Aussie midfielder on trial at Dortmund at the moment from his A League club who has been getting rave reviews.

They were saying the same about the half-Cambodian lad who was with Benfica, can't remember his name, back in the Gay-League now.
They also said the same about Ahmad Elrich when he was at Fulham, one of my good mates grew up with him and said Papa Boupa Dioup's chopper was past his knees...

Updated, I added Shinji Kagawa as well, forgot about him.

Marcos Rojas :)

Will probably be the best footballer NZ has produced since Wynton Rufer.

This should see him comfortably in the Huddersfield reserves.

dead cert, neck on the line:

Christian Eriksen

Danny Welbeck will be a nominee for the World Player of the Year awards!!!

(Thats putting my neck on the line)

Well Wilshire might be better but since he is a midfielder in the Scholes mould, it would be slightly more difficult for him

No matter how good Wilshere does (even if he achieves Scholes levels), he won't get individual recognition because his game doesn't reduce down to goals and assists numbers.

thats what i was meaning to convey. if he is exceptionally good, he can still make it (like say Xavi) . It also depends on how he is marketed (that is probably one reason why Scholes doesn't get the recognition he deserves).

But even in Xavi's World Cup winning year, it was Messi who took the prize.

It's exceptionally difficult for the "hub" of any team to win these individual awards, even though they are basically the most important part of the team.

I look at Spurs and always laugh at the Bale/VdV hype - that's not to say that they're not smashing players, because they clearly are. But Modric is the player that makes them tick and, more often than not, he's overlooked.

i only see utds youngsters so wont comment outside of that

Both of the twins will be stars (rafa perhaps already is) because not only are they incredibly gifted you can see that determined streak running through them. they'll never give up learning or improving and will achieve big things because of this. they'll probably win a world cup at some point

Pogba has that something about him where even if he's not playing well (which is rare) he still stands out. he's a big strong lad but he oozes composure, he's tenacious and has a ferocious shot. he could be a real midfield general for us

Morrison is nailed on for me, a natural footballer who makes the most difficult of skills look easy. Most of the concern for his attitude and 'extra-carricular activites' are overblown imo. he might take a year or two longer than some to get into the first team but once he does he'll explode. he'll love being out on the biggest stage expressing himself. he'll be a star

Wouldnt say its as much of a gamble now, but still probably not the common idea. Shame this thread wasnt around a year and a half ago.

Ever Banega to be one of the top 5 central midfielders in the world within the next 4 years.

Neck on the line
Tunnicliffe
Suso
Tom Thorpe

Yet.

He'll get both. Fabregas took a few years to become productive like that too.

Or is this your prediction? That Wilshire will never be productive?

This for me as well.

Nobody has mentioned Theo Walcott? I'd like to stick my neck on the line...

Oh, and Ramsey for a dead cert future star.

And Matty James to be a solid player for us.

I fear Matt James has a bit too much competition. Very unlucky really, but definitely think he's got the talent to be a Premiership player. Carrick-ish type player.

Gylfi Sigurdsson, Hoffenheim. In 3-5 years time he'll be the best all around set pieces taker in the world. Best at scoring from free kicks and one of the best at the rest. Hands down.

I was really surprised that a midtable PL team didn't go for him, unless he wanted to go to Germany.
