Atleast in losing Messi I picked up some decent young players, Ashley Young and Higauin are rated pretty decent on FM.

This player draw is not really what I was looking for. I didn't want all the best talent in the world in the club. That's why I deliberately doubled the player list when I did my tests, to ensure that only half the worlds best talent ended up in our clubs.

Guys, stop assuming we'll use that list. Perhaps someone should have checked with me first. I already had a plan, which has been well and truly bypassed now.

I have to think about it. Right now I'm pretty annoyed.

I was already well under way with assigning a full team to everyone. I wasn't entirely sure about that, but I hadn't decided yet. Otherwise, as I already mentioned, I never wanted all the talent in the world in the league. That means there will be no really big transfers for the first season, since everyone will have arrived at a new club. I can't be arsed to edit 150 players so that they haven't just signed for the club.

Maybe we'll use the new list anyway, we'll see.

I see what you mean mate, but tbh I think we'd all rather see two Caftards fight it out in the Champs League final than Juve vs Real or something...
 
ps. not sure if you it's on the new version but when setting up a game there is a function to 'randomise' teams I believe
 
It's possible to play without real players, but I'm not aware of any function to randomize teams.

Anyway, wasn't the point of this game that the clubs and the managers would have to hire the best players, and take it from there? If all the best players already start in the league, there won't be any good transfers for a while.
 
I'm sure you can, might be a simple 3rd party add-on thing though, might be worth doing some google searches or head to sortitoutsi and check the downloads section mate....(I would but dont wanna get busted here at work!)
 
If you've already started doing something different, and it has taken you quite a while to do it so far, then you should just continue with that
 
I'd suggest just using the first player in everyones list then. That way everyone has a star player and there is more than enough room for the manager to build a squad around them

Agreed. I liked your initial idea of randomly assigning 2 or 3 good players to each person and then see where things go from there. Gives us a decent start without crippling all the other teams in the game.

Oh, I just presumed this had all been OK'd already as the way we were doing things. Sorry niMic. You do it whatever way you think is best, as was said earlier, it is your experiment after all.

Here's what I propose. The first draw was entirely random, and then the second was pretty much a reverse of that, to ensure a little better spread of quality. This also bypassed at least half the top talent (top 60 talent, that is. It got quite a few of the very best all the same).

@nimic, if you've started inputting those and transferring them around, then no point changing is there
 
No he did one random draw from participants 1-30 and then another random draw starting with participant 30 and working his was back to 1. I think.
