Gaming Red Dead Redemption 2 (PC, PS4, Xbox One, Stadia)

Shame on you!

Yeah I feel a bit guilty. Still loot people though. Can't help myself and get annoyed when anyone in the gang tries to hurry me up.

I've also got some treasure maps that I'll crack on with. The game is too good and the world is too rich not to do as much stuff as you can.

What I love about this game is the ‘I wonder what would happen if...’ moments.

So I came across this guy pitching a tent by a lake at night, he made it very clear I was not welcome to share it with him. So to reward him for his lack of manners I tied him up and chucked him into the camp fire, he cooked like a juicy steak.

This game really brings out the psychopath in me .

I think i'm gonna make a save point tonight, turn off autosave and then go on a complete town rampage just to see how many bodies I can stack up.

Oh I got that raccoon hat from a guy in the saloon but have swapped it since and I can't seem to find it anywhere? Is it gone forever?

Loved that I just met some chaps building a house only to find some meanies attacking them that very night. It has a strong impact as compared to saving just random people.

in what town does one get this raccoon hat?

i also bought the bear hat from the trapper but it's gone too.. d'fewk.

Played for about 2 hours last night roughly. Just got back from hunting the 2 deer. Wouldn't let me save when it went to the next part so just knocked it off so I'm hoping it saved. (Reason I'm only there after 2 hours is because I had re-do the full mission at the O'Driscolls after pressing restart mission)

When does the game become more open? So far I just watch a cut scene and into mission.. I don't get to play a whole lot so was hoping I could go mess about from the start

What's the best way to rob ? Being wanted by the cops is no fun. So how do you do it discretely? Find lone wanderers? Sneak into houses? Hold up shopkeepers?

You're not far away. Basically when you get out of the snow and set up camp, chapter 2 begins and you can do what you want.

That said, I would highly recommend you crack on with some of the camp missions as they're still quite tutorial based. But you don't have to.

I was also aching for that. Didn't enjoy it being so linear at the start. I think it takes 4 hours to open i.e once you start chapter 2.

Yeah I noticed that as it has me doing certain things to show me the ropes. Read on here someone did a glitch for money? Do it or nah?

Haven’t had as much fun in an offline story as I have with this in a long long time. It’s worth a purchase for sure for that reason. You can feck around doing little or blast away at the missions. The pick up and play is great for me.

Last game I really enjoyed in an offline environment was Batman Arkham Knight.

I was just in the saloon in Valentine one evening and this guy in there was wearing it and started shit talking. Ended up in a fight and I took his hat as my prize.

Same. I even greeted the fecker and as I was walking away he clocked me in the back of the head.

His beautiful hat was my prize.

If you go to the hats section in your wardrobe, you can scroll with r1/rb for xbox and it toggles "owned hats" "stolen hats" etc etc.

Sup to you. As long as you don't let it ruin the game for you.

Cheers. I'll have a look.

I'm trying so hard not to buy this I want to wait for any PC version - but am finding it harder by the day.

Each time you go back the house will be more built, too.

There's so much to do in this game that I honestly think I'll keep playing it until January at least. Sometimes I feel like there's so much more to learn, I've only recently found out I can store additional clothes on a horse and I've barely got down to developing my settlement. I hardly play main storyline right now, mainly keep roaming around looking to have fun.

Raccoon hat guy is amazing. I was using the barbers right behind where he sits and when I finished and stood up from the chair, he sent me flying with a haymaker while saying "Come on, nancy boy!"

He is very tough in a fist fight.

I’d like to know this too because at this point it’s not been profitable for me.

I tried to rob a train yesterday. Put my mask on, jumped onto from my horse, and then started robbing the folk inside at gunpoint. Was going well until the train guards turned up and started shooting at me. I managed to escape but racked up a bounty that was more expensive than my earnings from the robbery ffs.

I really wish there was an option to take a companion with you. Would make something like a bank heist more feasible if you had backup and not getting absolutely pasted by the entire town firing at you from all directions.

I'm only getting started so hope people reply so I can start off well robbing folk

How do i do fist fights? Whenever i pick fists in the wheel i don´t know how to punch or cover.

Shame on you!

Personally I find grabbing money whatever way you can one of the best aspects of the time, so that would ruin it for me,

Yeah I couldn't find those trapper's people said were near Strawberry and wherever so I just went to St. Denis.

Actually, anyone know what the story is with perfect pelts? Like.. if I donate them to Pearson will they still show as me being able to upgrade my satchel or are they gone and i need to get another to bring him? Same with trapper's and clothes.

When you donate pp
They are stored by Pearson so you can craft at a later date.
I initially wasn't sure but jeez, that would be torture if you had to ride around with the pelts & craft at once.

X/ square maybe?
it's the left/right of the shape buttons.
can't remember what they are
Left is Block/right is punch.

Has anyone tried killing someone to see if they end up respawning? I'm interested to see, surely you can't just wipe out a town.

The world in this game is amazing. Definitely the most immersive and breathing world in a video game so far.

One of the only negatives for me is you can’t access a lot of buildings, I know this is the same in GTA and also TW3 but it sometimes ruins the immersion when I can’t enter an interesting looking place. I suppose Bethesda can do it because they’ve a loading screen for everything.

I highly doubt this is possible. Never mind a town, I once visit some farm house and killed everyone inside and outside but when I decided to sleep in the bed, they all respawned the next morning.

... is interesting. Don’t think it plays out particularly well, personally. Pacing is all over the place. Feels like some tacky Far Cry or Unchartered stuff.

The mission before is super grating too. Only time I felt the story has really struggled so far.

I bumped into a group of O'Driscoll's setting up a camp, maybe around 6 of them so obviously I killed them and decided to stack them together and toss a fire bottle onto the pile

How do you store clothes on your horse?

I thought the legendary bear would be harder than it was. I went straight up there with Hosea really early in the game, stuck around and immediately retracked it. Shot it twice from my horse which then bucked me when it charged, stood up and shot it twice in the face and that was it, dead.

Protip: .you can adjust outfits by pressing X when changing clothes. 30 hours in and just found this out via Reddit.

I shot the owner of a store in the head. He was dead, I legged it, came back a while later and he had a bandage on his head.

Amazing neuro surgeons in 1899.

Read on reddit today - When doing robberies etc people can still recognise you by your clothes or something. The tip is to have an outfit used for that type of thing only
