Ok even in Pat's sense. to me if I was changing my pick from the best player for my own strategy, then I want tangible results. Just potentially influencing the future picks of a random group of managers doesn't seem like it would necessarily benefit. To me the only tangible benefit is trying to trap the player with the strongest team. If you cast a wide net and just snare the weakest team then the trade off for not just maximizing your own side is not worth the cost.

Also I shouldn't have said original because that concept is expressed in a lot of different Buddhist quotes and I have no idea off the top of my head which is original haha

I suppose its a positional choice like in poker. You'd make slightly different choices when you have to bet first from when you can bet last.

I share your enthusiasm but this draft hasn't been designed and devised in this regard:

- Only 4 boxes out of 28 require a change of player
- No boxes allowing strategic picks or tactical coups IMO

One day, I think we should make a pure 'Game Theory Draft' with cards/negotiation/bluffs/strategic alliances/gambles...:drool:

Sure, for his regular picks, in that case he was picking for somebody else so there was no downside to his team.

It was all rather boring/one-dimensional because most markets we were the only player, or one of two-four max. It was more "keep the status quo" than "watch the world burn". Collaboration wasn't exactly in most people's DNA either. It was only entering new markets that I had any actual fun.

He also infamously dropped Scholes halfway through a game he was losing. Apparently dropping Scholes could help him get back in it.

Favourite my arse. The first thing I thought was "not Scholes".

Also, poor Nobby Stiles, he keeps picking 5 forwards and sticking Nobby in the middle to do all the heavylifting and this is how he shows his gratitude :rolleyes:
