Wonder why we set the release clause so low?
I am both, but I'm definitely more of a United fan so hard to disagree here. No, I want him at United.
I'm a United fan, not a David De Gea fan.
One is a byproduct of the other though.I am both, but I'm definitely more of a United fan so hard to disagree here.
He wouldn't have signed the contract if the release clause was prohibitive putting his dream move at risk. He could have just waited for a massive signing on fee with us getting nothing.Wonder why we set the release clause so low?
Of course. One is a byproduct of the other though.
I'm obviously a big fan of DDG, but only because he's at United.
How will everyone come out with the same deal? We was getting Keylor back then, but now they don't have to give us feck all apart from 30mHe wouldn't have signed the contract if the release clause was prohibitive putting his dream move at risk. This way everyone will come out of it with around the same deal agreed last August. Everyone is happy.
It was around £16m + Navas if I remember rightly. How will everyone come out with the same deal? We was getting Keylor back then, but now they don't have to give us feck all apart from 30m
25m plus Navas is what I remember? It was around £16m + Navas if I remember rightly.
Real and United have agreed a fee of £29m for De Gea, in a deal which included goalkeeper Keylor Navas going to Old Trafford in exchange for the Spain international - but if the deal is not allowed to go through, Navas will not be moving to England. It was around £16m + Navas if I remember rightly.
Damn, thought we'd sold him again.Real and United have agreed a fee of £29m for De Gea, in a deal which included goalkeeper Keylor Navas going to Old Trafford in exchange for the Spain international - but if the deal is not allowed to go through, Navas will not be moving to England.

It says including Navas in the article. €35m less €15m Navas is worth. Similar to what other reports said.Real and United have agreed a fee of £29m for De Gea, in a deal which included goalkeeper Keylor Navas going to Old Trafford in exchange for the Spain international - but if the deal is not allowed to go through, Navas will not be moving to England.

There are conflicting reports if you watch the video. United said 40m Euors plus Navas, but Real said 35m Euros minus Navas. We all know how Real like to lie about transfer fees don't we.It says including Navas in the article. €35m less €15m Navas is worth. Similar to what other reports said.
Needs to play for a top, top team. We aren't. Thanks for making things less embarrassing then they could have been....and good luck!
Assuming their transfer ban appeal is as expected rejected before the summer he won't be going anywhere this summer
Either way there's no logical reason why we would come out of any deal financially better off than last September unless he actually is/was committed to staying which is highly unlikely. There are conflicting reports if you watch the video. United said 40m Euors plus Navas, but Real said 35m Euros minus Navas. We all know how Real like to lie about transfer fees don't we.
I can see him leaving if we switch managers and coaches again. It would be the 3rd time in 4 years he would be dealing with this, so he may just opt to move on this time. Unless of course he wants to play for Mourinho.
But he wants to go to Madrid. Is there a club in the world who changes their manager more often?
He's going to Real Madrid, not Barca.Fan's dilemma : Would we like to see De Gea at a club where he would actually get some rewards for his perfomances in terms of champions league and silverware ?.....
Could very well be. But let's be honest, we're far from a top club right now and he should play for such a club. If we don't get there, he'll leaveI think only 3 scenarios where we might keep DDG:
1. RM's transfer ban is enforced from this summer
2. Jose becomes our manager and Mendes-Mou convince DDG to stay for one more year
3. Perez leaves (is forced to resign/hold election an year earlier like Barca did and he loses the election) and the new president decides to keep Navas as he is perfectly fine
With regards to e), Madrid fans were happy with Özil and Di Maria. Doesn't matter who Real fans like, Perez will end up replacing them with the latest name anyway. He will be still at United next season.
a) Mourinho will be in charge at United and will bring belief to the better players that we can again seriously compete for trophies, b) the buy out clause does not exist - why would a player/agent comment on an aspect of someone's contract just because it has been raised by a journalist on the speculation?, c) Balague talks shit and this is simply another example of lazy football journalism, d) De Gea was embarrassed by the amateur behaviour of Madrid last Summer, e) Madrid fans are happy with Navas and they will have more pressing concerns in the Summer.
Wonder why we set the release clause so low?
Because he wouldn't sign the deal if it was any higher?Wonder why we set the release clause so low?
hahahaha so trueHe's going to Real Madrid, not Barca.
Are there actually people in here saying why did we give him a release clause? You realise he would be gone for free if we didn't sign him to a new deal? Free. 30m is a lot better than free. That's 80% of a martial.
And as far as the actual clause goes, guillem gets everything wrong, so while we know he has a clause i don't think we have any new info over how much it is
Spain's El Confidencial have claimed Thibaut Courtois isn't entirely happy with his life in London. The angle El Confidencial take is a Real Madrid one, and it's claimed Courtois would be happy to play for the club, despite being a hero at local rivals Atletico Madrid.
The transfer would especially please Florentino Perez, it's claimed, because the Real Madrid president would be able to get one over his fierce rivals at Atletico Madrid. There's no claims of talks or approaches, just that Courtois isn't completely happy and would look kindly on a return to Madrid.
